Ancient Mariner

HI Vincent, thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I see you have added a pov tag to the plot summary of the Ancient Mariner, suggesting that the albatross is not taken to symbolise a Christian soul. The poem reads

 At length did cross an Albatross,
 Thorough the fog it came;
 As if it had been a Christian soul,
 We hail'd it in God's name.

No problem. It seemed to me inconsistent that the interpretation section does not concretely refer to the albatross as the Christian soul; like any poem, there is debate as to the exact symbolism. So I would suggest either a quote is added from the gloss, along with a note "According to Coleridge's gloss on the poem..." or language like "according to ______ the albatross should be interpreted as the Christian soul." I can't access the second article mentioned in the "Interpretations," but if it is an autobiographical allegory, than it would seem that the albatross shouldn't be seen as "the Christian soul" in the abstract. (I must admit to not having read the gloss). Also, I take issue with the summary's claim that they literally lay the albatross around the Mariner's neck, and the statue caption also erroneously states that the albatross is literally hung around his neck.

Ah. OK. Plot summaries don't usually have citations (though no reason why not). For simplicity's ease, I would just take out the Christian soul reference in this section. The problem with tags is they tend to stay for years. It's often easier to make the change, add the reference, do the rewrite yourself, be bold. If anyone disagrees, you can take it from there. Hello. As a participant in Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Abortion article titles, you may wish to register an opinion on its followup RFC, Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Abortion advocacy movement coverage, which is now in its community feedback phase. Please note that WP:RFC/AAMC is not simply a repeat of WP:RFC/AAT, and is attempting to achieve better results by asking a more narrowly-focused, policy-based question of the community. Assumptions based on the previous RFC should be discarded before participation, particularly the assumption that Wikipedia has or inherently needs to have articles covering generalized perspective on each side of abortion advocacy, and that what we are trying to do is come up with labels for that.
