~~Some proposed changes~~

There are quite a few errors on the Bruce Bernard Wiki page. I have a COI as rep of Estate of Bruce Bernard but would like to propose some important changes. Others could follow but will need citations. There are also many further biographical entries to make but the errors first need fixing. In the obits Bruce Bernard's date of death is incorrect. He died on 30th March. This was incorrectly reported in obits. Can the opening paragraph be changed to : Bruce Bernard /bərˈnɑːrd/[1] (21 March 1928 – 30 March 2000) was an English picture editor, writer and photographer. He was picture editor of the Sunday Times Magazine in its heyday and also at the Independent Magazine for its first four years; he edited many books on art and photography and photographed several influential artists in a career lasting nearly 40 years. Could the entry where it incorrectly says Bruce Bernard 'self curated' his own photographs at the Barbican be changed to : In 1994 Bernard curated a major survey of photographs selected from the Hulton-Deutsch Collection (which contains around 15,000,000 photographs) at the Barbican Centre, titled All Human Life. Under 'Personal' can the 'survived by his long-term partner' be removed entirely as this is incorrect and was incorrect in the Times obit (I was his close friend and companion but not his partner). Hello, I'm MelbourneStar. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Bruce Bernard, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. —MelbourneStartalk 06:49, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Virginia.Verran. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Bruce Bernard, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Since you added "was survived by his close friend, the artist Virginia Verran who represents his estate" you appear to have a conflict of interest in this article and should not be editing it. Ah, I see your first edit summary included "I represent Bruce Bernard's estate" so there is no question tha tyou have a conflict of interest. Please discuss your proposed changes on the talk page. Meters (talk) 08:18, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
