[edit]Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Bruce MacVittie, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 15:10, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Waxworker,
- Thanks for your message! Since it's a television series credit, what would be a reliable source to cite? I don't see any references for any of the other television credits, so I didn't think one was needed. I'd appreciate any assistance you could provide.
- Thanks, Carole WPBSpiderweb (talk) 15:21, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- @WPBSpiderweb: A good source for the credit would be an article from a reliable source discussing the episode he's in and his role - IMDB for example is an unreliable source per WP:IMDB as it's user-generated, and unsourced content may be challenged and removed per WP:BURDEN. Wikipedia has strict sourcing requirements for biographies of living people per WP:BLPSOURCES. WP:RSP has a list of sources that have previously been discussed and has a consensus as reliable or unreliable, and if you find a source discussing the role I recommend you check there to see if the source is considered reliable. From a cursory look at the article for Barney Miller, he currently isn't mentioned as a guest star, and if the role is a small part of the episode there may not be any sources discussing his role in the series. If you have any other questions, I recommend asking at Wikipedia:Teahouse - the hosts there are very helpful. Waxworker (talk) 16:53, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
