East Ramapo Central School District[edit]

I noticed a batch of edits from you on the East Ramapo Central School District page. I have many friends there and I am aware of the local political situation there. I was particularly surprised to find that many edits to the page about the takeover of the School Board by the Hassidic community, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=East_Ramapo_Central_School_District&diff=737892280&oldid=253509282, have been actively reverted. At this time, there is absolutely no mention of the situation in that district. As an recurring donor to Wikipedia, I'm saddened to see that such biased information curation still occurs on our pages, and even on pages that have clearly had attention from Wikipedia admins.

I intend to restore some of these edits based on first-hand knowledge of the situation at hand, but I do have a few questions in light of the above: 1. Do I need to formally request arbitration when the edit will be, once again, undone, or is this page already on some watchlist. 2. Is a more far-reaching policy enhancement in order on Wikipedia? Facts supported by multiple edits have been consistently and aggressively edited out of this page, and too easily so. 3. Is there a mechanism whereby people close to a topic can be kept in the loop and weigh in on edits, especially edits removing such information? I know there's a "notify me when page is edited" feature which sounds a bit like that, which has never worked for me for some reason, but this can be formalized.

Poramadulla Central College[edit]

I will help you to improve the page. There is an article with me written by odhathabandara. That will help you to improve the article. In User:Dendyard/Poramadulla There are names of principals in English and "Affirmation of Oath of School" in sinhalese and the school name in sinhala is "පොරමඩුල්ල මධ්‍ය මහා විද්‍යාලය" Dendyard (talk) 14:43, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

I don't edit the Sinhala Wikipedia. But I edit the Wikipedia related to Sri Lanka. If you want me to edit Sinhala, I can do it for you. Thank you. Dendyard (talk) 16:27, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Thank you[edit]

I wouldn't want you to think that I don't understand where you are coming from. It's often hard to find the happy medium between enforcing the guidelines and being officious; on the other hand, I could name several good editors who left because they didn't think we were coming down hard enough on vandalism. I do try quite hard to be helpful and I really don't mind being picked up on things now and again - it keeps me on my toes. Thanks again for your suggestions. Deb (talk) 16:55, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Documents[edit]

I left a message at my Talk Page with fuller answers to your questions. The short answer is that policies you asked about are covered in WP:CITEHOW.

BTW, Wikipedia style: we do not have a section of "References" which lists items which are already in the footnotes. See GENREF, Footnotes and References, Further references.

I also have questions about the WP:NOTABILITY of the article De l'un au multiple: Traductions du chinois vers les langues européenes, which is showing up in a number of other articles where it's certainly not notable. But that's for another time. Cheers, ch (talk) 00:27, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Michael Pollack[edit]

Hello WhisperToMe. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Michael Pollack".

Below find your comment left on my talk page, followed by my reply:

"" Hi! I found this discussion: User_talk:RJN#Why_are_you_.22freezing_out.22_anything_referring_to_Galveston I know that the name of the metro area has changed. It used to be Houston-Galveston-Brazoria (1990) and later it became Houston-Galveston-Baytown (2000). Now it's officially Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land because the cities of The Woodlands and Sugar Land have grown immensely. WhisperToMe (talk) 08:25, 3 December 2013 (UTC) ""

My reply: Hi ! Actually you are wrong. The OFFICIAL designation by the United States government is the Houston-Galveston area. Please google "H-GAC" or go here learn the truth. BTW, it is NOT that (the near All-White) The Woodlands and Sugar Land areas have "grown" so, it's the fact the census was taken a couple of years after Hurricane Ike devastated Galveston which caused the displacement of more than 10,000 people ! The recovery is well underway and the population in Galveston is returning. LazLong Sr (talk) 05:48, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

I have no idea what LazLong Sr is talking about. "Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, TX" is the official name given in this document, produced just eleven months ago. You can't get more official than that. Nyttend (talk) 01:11, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

I have no idea. You'll have to ask someone else, or you'll have to give me more context, because I've never heard of him. Nyttend (talk) 01:11, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

I tend to think not — I saw essentially no independent-and-substantial coverage in reliable sources. Perhaps he's been studied in some book or another, but if so I'm unaware of it. Nyttend (talk) 02:20, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Poster in Niujie St[edit]

Depiction of Jino (left) and Hui (right) people on a big poster in 2008

Here it goes! Mind you, the picture was taken in 2008; the poster, and the wall it used to hang on, are probably long gone, and a new high-rise building probably stands where the construction site was... -- Vmenkov (talk) 01:36, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Ok, here's the rest of the photos I have from that block:

My Proposed Film Articles[edit]

I saw you took an interest in my suggestion that Wikipedia ought to create entries about a few films and therefore created an article about Invisible Adversaries. Thank you very much! You might be also interested therefore to know that I have already submitted to AfC my drafts of the four remaining films about which Wikipedia still has no articles ([1]; [2]; [3]; [4]) from my original post you saw plus one more draft for another vey important Helma Sanders-Brahms art film ([5]). 46.116.250.15 (talk) 22:06, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Meanwhile, I have changed all the German titles of the films into their equivalent English ones in my proposed articles' texts. Could you please also change the entries' names accordingly? Apparently, only registered editors can do so. Thanks! 46.116.250.15 (talk) 17:32, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

For your consideration, here's my Gods of the Plague draft: [6]. 46.116.250.15 (talk) 22:08, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you very much for approving that one so quickly! Only one film ([7]) left to go now! 46.116.250.15 (talk) 22:46, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you very much for all your invaulable assistance! 46.116.250.15 (talk) 11:47, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

I've made a short edit request at a semi protected page. Would you be kind enough as to approve it? Thanks! 46.116.250.15 (talk) 13:46, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

There's an original poster of Wings at that film's entry in the Russian Wikipedia (and what seem like alternative ones here and here). Could you please add one of those to the corresponding English article? Also, I've found what seems to be the original poster of Das zweite Erwachen der Christa Klages here (plus two images which I'm not sure are really posters here and here), what seems to be the original poster of Flügel und Fesseln here, and what seems to be the original poster of Die Berührte here (alternative version here) and would thank you very much if you could add these too. Since I couldn't find original posters for the following films, are the DVD covers of Unsichtbare Gegner (here), Unter dem Pflaster ist der Strand (here), Mein Herz – niemandem! (here), and Das Erdbeben in Chili (here) a legitimate substitute in your opinion? Thanks! 46.116.250.15 (talk) 18:38, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you so very much for uploading the Wings poster! Someone else has meanwhile added Unter dem Pflaster ist der Strand's DVD cover to that film's article, so there are now only six left to go... Keep up the good work! 46.116.250.15 (talk) 19:07, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you very much for uploading all these posters! Now the only thing left to do is to upload the DVD covers of Unsichtbare Gegner (here), Mein Herz – niemandem! (here), and Das Erdbeben in Chili (here). 46.116.250.15 (talk) 10:11, 5 February 2014 (UTC)

Any progress regarding the uploading of the three remaining DVD covers? This is 46.116.250.15 here. Please note that my computer changes my IP address from time to time without me asking. 46.116.221.185 (talk) 11:17, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Once again, thank you so very much for all you invaluable assistance! 46.116.221.185 (talk) 22:14, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Hello again. I have recently made three minor semi-protected edit request ([8], [9], [10]). Would it be possible for you to approve them? Thanks! 46.116.221.185 (talk) 18:17, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Two of my proposals have been meanwhile cleared by other editors. Any progress regarding the last one? Thanks! 46.116.221.185 (talk) 15:49, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Well, long time no see... This is 46.116.221.185 again, I simply have a dynamic IP address. Hope everything's fine. Would you kindly mind helping me with a new film-related project I've been into for the last several months? Currently it only concerns uploading a few images... Thanks! PS: I have marked a section here (visible only via edit mode) where I beleive the photo from the Italian Wiki should go. 85.250.135.134 (talk) 15:47, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

Many thanks! Now the only thing left is the photo from the Italian Wiki. 89.139.184.183 (talk) 14:18, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
I have marked a section of the plot section (visible in edit mode only) where I want the picture. It reads: "[[Image:|thumb|As Singapore Sling’'s confinement wears on he regains his strength and takes a more active role in the games]]." Many film articles (see, e.g., Persona) use such frames for mere illustration, but if you believe it doesn't pass fair use then I guess no significant harm is done. Many thanks again for your invaluable assistance! 89.139.184.183 (talk) 15:39, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
I have removed this mark for the time being until we'll see whether or not adding another picture is possible with regards to fair use regulations. 89.139.184.183 (talk) 17:50, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

Can't speak Greek (or Spanish) unfortunately. I speak Hebrew, English, and German. PS: I'm not sure how reliable it is considered here, but this might help with all of his films. I have no idea where it's taken from (All I can see is that the short credits at the beginning of this clip do not mention Sarmiento). What I thought is that this clip can simpy be cited via the standard references system and that his statements could thus be used as sources when writing the articles. 85.250.146.10 (talk) 16:21, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Just noted, using Google Books, that the book you used while compiling The Zero Years also discusses both Ευριδίκη ΒΑ 2Ο37 and Τα Κουρέλια Τραγουδάνε Ακόμα. I also found that the later is further discussed here, here, and here and briefly mentioned here and in this journal article while the former is briefly mentioned in this Ph.D dissertation. Finally, I discovered you can find even more discussion of both if you login into Amazon and search their titles in this book. 85.250.146.10 (talk) 13:07, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

Alternative medicine[edit]

Not sure if you're still interested in this page (it's been over a month) but i've left a brief whinge that sums up the major issue. i.e the page currently uses a non-standard definition and because it's an emotive topic it's impossible to get it changed whatever evidence is provided. An FAQ wouldn't be much help as this is really the only issue. The page was in reasonable condition until Nov 2012 and since then some socking attacks have flooded it damage that's proved impossible to revert.Aspheric (talk) 17:25, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Bosnians in St. Louis[edit]

Hi. I was considering making an article about Bosnian-Americans in St. Louis. However, I thought it might be good to include information on Serbs and Croats as well, since there doesn't seem to be enough information for three separate articles. What could that be titled? History of the Balkan peoples in St. Louis? History of the South Slavs in St. Louis? Or would it be best just to include information on Bosnians? I'm not sure how to go about this and thought you might have some ideas. If not, sorry for bothering you. Solar-Wind (talk) 02:23, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Update: There are associations and other organizations for Bosnians, Croats, and Serbs. There is some overlap, but for the most part the organizations are separate. Many of these ex-Yugoslavs in St. Louis came during the 1990s as refugees. There are around 70,000 Bosnians in the city, but I can't find the numbers for Croats and Serbs. The tricky thing is that while many of the immigrants from Bosnia are ethnic Bosnians (Bosniaks/Muslims), some are Bosnian Croats (Catholics) or Bosnian Serbs (Orthodox). So while many are from the country of Bosnia, they may identify with Bosnians as a group or they may identify with their own particular Serb or Croat culture. The identity issue here is complicated, as to be expected with people from the Balkans. Solar-Wind (talk) 12:54, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Affirmative action in China[edit]

There is also a history of affirmative action in China for minorities. During the Qing dynasty, there were quotas for Miao, Yao and Muslim minorities on the Imperial examination especially after the 1784 rebellion by Jahriyya Sufi Muslims, (i'm working on the article about the 1781 and 1784 Jahriyya rebellions at User:Rajmaan/1781 Jahriyya Rebellion, Elman's books here are focused on the examination system in China and he is not a specialist on Muslims in China like historians such as J. N. Lipman or M. Dillon, he mischaracterizes the 1784 rebellion as a "Muslim separatist" revolt (it consisted of mainly just sectarian violence with no intention of "secession", like modern day sectarian violence in Iraq, as the sources at User:Rajmaan/1781 Jahriyya Rebellion show.

The articles on Miao Rebellion (1735–36) and Miao Rebellion (1795–1806) already exist so just link them there if you are going to describe the background.

There is a case in the Taizong Shilu during the Yongle Emperor's reign about Mongol military officers exempted from administrative work because of their illiteracy and still getting paid, so some Chinese pretended to be Mongols to avoid doing work.

These are secondary sources for the illiterate Mongols being exempted from work which you can use in the article as a citation, since the primary source (the statement from the Taizong Shilu) should only be used as a quotation.

Uyghurs in Beijing[edit]

The first Uyghur community in Beijing dates to the Qing dynasty starting in the 18th century, when the Uyghur leaders like Emin Khoja of Turfan allied and submitted to the Qing in order to fight against the Dzunghars in the Ten_Great_Campaigns#The_Zunghars_and_pacification_of_Xinjiang_.281755.E2.80.931759.29. The Qing then built a quarter for Uyghur aristocrats in Beijing near the Forbidden City and a community of them sprang up along with their followers.

Note that they weren't called "Uyghurs", because the name "Uyghur" was applied to these people in the 1920s, see Uyghur_people#Origin_of_modern_nationality. In contemporaneous western records in the 19th century, they called them "Turkish" or "Turk" (it was a common western habit to refer to all Turkic speaking peoples as Turkish until they came up with the word "Turkic" which is nowused in modern academia), and scholars today like Millward call them "East Turkestani" or "Altishahri" instead of Uyghur when referring to them before the 20th century, since calling them "Uyghur" would be an anachorism.

The Kumul Khan Maqsud Shah continued to visit Beijing up until the end of the Qing dynasty, to perform the rituals of submission and vassalage to the Qing Emperor.

Follow-up regarding Giles[edit]

Greetings, Since our discussion on Giles I have a feeling that maybe most of the primary biographical sources regarding him are still offline/in Chinese? Apparently his chair in Cambridge was renamed in honour of Joseph Needham in 2008 to Joseph Needham Professorship of Chinese History, Science, and Civilization, the current holder being Roel Sterckx. Maybe Sterckx is the best person to query about the available sources regarding Giles, Other eminent sinologists and he himself (Sterckx is definitely notable enough to deserve a GA/even FA). I am guessing that if we ask Sterckx about the potential biographical sources about him, he will not turn us down? (Which academic will not want to see his own page on the front page of Wikipedia!!) What do you think? Solomon7968 07:46, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, User:Fowler&fowler first suggested me to email Michael Witzel directly for references for the article Wales Professor of Sanskrit. Perhaps if we can ask people like Sterckx or Witzel directly then they may help upload their respective University manuscript collections to Wikimedia Commons. That would be incredible! Solomon7968 08:47, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
P.S. I just emailed Roel Sterckx asking him to point sources about he himself, the Joseph Needham Chair and about Giles. Solomon7968 18:35, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

If anyone is willing to drop in and help him out, it'd be great to get this article up and running rather than let it fall due to a novice writer's unfamiliarity with Wikipedia. Happy New year[edit]

Happy new year sir. May you experience an overflow of the blessings of this year. One of the reasons why I don't like to make promises is because I always feel bad, whenever I do not fulfill them. And when apologies become a routine, they lose value. For that reason, let me just go straight to the point why I am here. Firstly, I created an account on the Yoruba wikipedia (isakabaaa). It was not until recently that I knew English editors can use same account on the Yoruba wiki. Should I continue to use the account on Yoruba Wikipedia, or do I need to do anything first. Secondly, how important is it for an editor to use the right punctuation when editing Yoruba articles. My PC does not have those symbols, and it won't be convenient for me to be copying and pasting them through Google. Finally, am I allowed to use English references, if I can not find a Yoruba reference for an article?

About WP:VA/E[edit]

Currently there are some interesting proposals, e.g. the addition of concept, Armenian Apostolic Church, toast, baguette, croissant and doughnut. However they do not receive enough support votes, and in the future they might be closed as either NO CONSENSUS or FAILED, which is a pity. So please consider supporting these proposals, or WP:VA/E won't get expanded by adding these vital articles.--RekishiEJ (talk) 04:31, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

Hello, the page Afrocandy does not mean Wikipedia notability guidelines. I out a speedy deletion tag and it was removed by the user Oshwah many times and now he's saying something very strange that a person doesn't have to be proven notable to be on Wikipedia, please see his comments on my talk page. I'm bringing this to the attention of an admin because this page needs to be deleted. The sources quoted are blogs and she has made no impact on the Nigerian music industry, has won no awards and is not known even in Nigeria. Do your own research please and see for yourself, all she has are small mentions. Please advise. Thanks PaulAshford (talk) 23:27, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

I want to Participate in the WikiProject France/Paris[edit]

Hi, I'm new here and want to contribute to Wikipedia. I'm a bit lost as well but I noticed you were part of "Wikipedia:WikiProject France/Paris". I would love to help out in any Paris related articles as I can, particularly in taking photos in Paris for various Paris related articles that have missing pictures. I would love to join the "WikiProject France/Paris" but more importantly I want to learn everything I need to know...

I'm born and live in Paris by the way and I speak fluent French as well. Hope you can help me out through chat or something outside of wikipedia.org since I have difficulty navigating the website (for now).

Thank you!

Paris[edit]

Thanks for everything!

I have a first question, I am aware that France lacks "freedom of panorama". I experienced this myself when uploading a photo "File:Palais de Chaillot esplanade Statue.jpg" to the Wikimedia Commons which I then added to an article related to the Palais de Chaillot esplanade, it then got deleted as you may see here (and probably have guessed). Could you explain to me how I can "upload locally to the French and English Wikipedias" rather than uploading my pic to the commons?

UK Space Agency photo, again[edit]

Thank you for your thanks!
I have been mulling this one over, but I'm sorry, this was all I could think of to push this forward.
I had a go at looking in the Swindon categories on Commons for editors that might be able to help, but drew a blank (a lot of the pictures I saw were from another website (geograph.org) and the editors I did find aren't around any more); I also had a look through the main editors on the Swindon page, but no-one rang a bell.
I've come across a couple of other moonrakers on WP but AFAIK none of them are in Swindon either. Still, If I think of anything else I'll give it a go.
Also, I hope you don't mind my putting you down as the person to contact; I thought you'd know better than me what is entailed. Regards, Moonraker12 (talk) 23:20, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Re: Hilton Worldwide article[edit]

Hi, WhisperToMe. I noticed that you've edited the Hilton Worldwide article several times before. I was wondering if you had a moment to assist me with a request I posted on the article's talk page regarding a few small updates to the infobox. I am unable to edit the article directly for COI reasons, but I've proposed 3 updates and provided sourcing and formatted citations to make the request easy to complete. If you have a moment to assist, I'd be really grateful. Thanks for your consideration. Inkian Jason (talk) 16:59, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

Thanks again for assisting with my edit request by posting at WikiProject Hotels and then confirming when the request was answered. I just posted another request on the article's talk page, if you are interested. Otherwise, I have a different (super easy) request:
Currently, the Hilton Worldwide article displays the Conrad and Waldorf Astoria logos in the "Brands" section. Would you be willing to remove these from the Hilton Worldwide article since they are already displayed on their respective articles? Displaying them on the Hilton Worldwide article creates brand confusion. (The Canopy logo can stay until there is an article about this brand.) If you are willing to help, I'd be happy to note this conversation on the Hilton Worldwide talk page in order to be completely transparent about my request. Inkian Jason (talk) 19:17, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your quick turnaround and help! Inkian Jason (talk) 17:21, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, WhisperToMe. Thanks again for your willingness to remove logos from the Hilton Worldwide article. Since you were so quick to help last time, and no one seems to be responding to my other request, I was wondering if you had a moment to update some text on my behalf. My request here looks scary, but actually updating the article is quite simple because no addition or sources or references formatting is required. This is simply replacing incorrect or outdated text with new information. If you have time, I would really appreciate your additional help, otherwise I completely understand and I really do appreciate your previous assistance. Thanks again! Inkian Jason (talk) 15:36, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

British international schools[edit]

Hi there. Sadly not. Edubase is so annoying, it clearly has the facility to list different 'types' of schools, yet will only let you search for mainstream types of schools. I similarly cannot get a list of Pupil Referral Units on Edubase, nor Special Post-16 providers, though they are listed on the databse, just not searchable (grrr). However, in your example, you may have better luck with the British Council - Thr British Council essentially is the body that awards 'British School' status to schools abroad (or at least, the Department for Education in UK awards status solely on their advice). The British Council also invigilates A-Levels and GCSEs taken abroad. So you may want to try their website to see if they have any info listed, it may be only listed by country though. Good luck! Re:Template:Secondary schools in Hungary[edit]

First, thank you for letting me know about your proposal. I do not have strong opinion on it. In ideal situation (where we would have articles about all major schools in Hungary) it would be the only rational option. However, once I was making this Template I noticed that there is not to much articles on this topic so I decided to put them all together, and to include only schools that have articles on English Wikipedia. With more templates we will have much more red links. Of course, it will give the reader information on all high school, but I avoided it back than from aesthetic point of view. My only proposal is that if you decide to make change, instead of deleting current template, you move it to Template:High Schools in Budapest and adapt it for this narrower use.--MirkoS18 (talk) 13:45, 8 May 2016 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:AngelicoChavezStatueSantaFeNM.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:AngelicoChavezStatueSantaFeNM.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:44, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Phone number[edit]

Hello WhisperToMe,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Phone number for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Atlantic306 (talk) 04:01, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Phone number[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Phone number requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Atlantic306 (talk) 04:03, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Help Editing a Corporate page[edit]

Hello, My name is Madison (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MadisonfromStanding) I have submitted an edit to the page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Maritz,_LLC) and was wondering if you wouldn't mind reviewing and incorporating the proposed changes to improve the page. I thought you might be interested because you've edited similar pages in the past. The changes are fairly simple: updating uncontroversial information about the company's services, acquisitions, and mergers as well as two recent recognitions. I'm following Wikipedia's guidelines by requesting this here (due to a COI). Please let me know if you have any questions about the proposed revisions.

French in Algeria[edit]

Hi dear, it's true that french is used usualy after arab language in Algeria. However Algerians are arab and berbere peoples and only arabic and berbere are officials. Generaly in Wikipedia, we refere only to official languages. That's my opinion dear freind. Thank you. --Fayçal.09 (talk) 12:54, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Yes French is still important in Algeria. However Arab language is also logicaly used in business and science, as well as university level education, on first. I understand that occident need to understand what is writen in latin language and because we are in english wikipedia, the english language is used. I don't see why french language as unnoficial must be used, arab language is official with berbere and arab is more important in the world then french (Top 10 Most Spoken Languages In The World).
What about aircraft crash accident reports, visibly you are right, I don't understand why arab language is not used, maybe and sadely, arab language is not used yet for these reports. Your asking Why is Arabic not used in aircraft crash accident reports? is a good and important initiative. I understand too your meaning about understanding a french terms concerning Algeria.
My vision is simple, for example, in Germany only german language is used, however if we wants to know more about this country we need to translate in the language adapted of anyone and the language more used for that is english. What about Algeria, I know that french is more adapted however translation from arabic, berbere or french to english or other language is possible same as Germany for german language. I hope that you understand what I mean. --Fayçal.09 (talk) 18:39, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
In India, english is an official language, in Nigeria there are many dialects (not languages), same as most of african sub saharian countries. In Algeria, french is not an official language, and arabic is not a dialect but a strong language wich is spoken by all algerians (arab and berbere). --Fayçal.09 (talk) 21:03, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
Arab language, same as most of languages in the world have it's varieties (Classical, Modern Standard and spoken Arabic). All big languages have varieties because there are expanded around the world, for example we can see the same concerning the french language (Varieties of French). --Fayçal.09 (talk) 21:31, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Mississippi corruption case[edit]

Was your note of a week ago about your edits intended for me? I didn't get a ping so just noticed it when I updated the article this morning. Thanks! Activist (talk) 12:30, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

I noticed back when Haley Barbour got elected, taking office in January 2004, that the MS prison system quickly became a porkfest. Ronnie Musgrove had been desperately trying to put the brakes on it, along with a number of legislators, but when he left office, it appeared sky was the limit. I particularly remember Musgrove possibly inventing, but certainly popularizing the term, "ghost beds." The state had already overbuilt, but at that point it was being taken to the cleaners. (Barbour also used Katrina recovery money to build the Adams County prison for CCA, if memory serves.) Now it is in unimaginably bad straits, with empty prisons both at Delta and Walnut Grove, and an incredible amount of debt load as a result. Walnut Grove was hugely expanded under Barbour. I guess we'll see when the other shoes drop. Without giving details, the USAG SM, referred to the kickbacks as going back to 2004, I think. I'll take care of what I assume was my error right away. I expect that you and I have shared maybe 90% of all the edits to the article since you authored it. The first 28, I think, were all yours. Activist (talk) 16:23, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
I'll see if I mixed up McCrory and Simmons. Also, I didn't mention Tallahatchie, but Jerry Brown has been trying to bring prisoners back to California, which has had a big drop (like MS) in prison population, emptying Sayre, OK recently. So I expect Tallahatchie could close, leaving even more bonded indebtedness. CA also has prisoners in Pinal County, AZ, so I'm not sure which would be back sooner, if Brown can do that. Activist (talk) 17:17, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
I'm still not sure what the problem was with the citation. The Nave cite of 11/13/14 notes that McCrory got $12,000 a month from MTC. The Jeff Amy (AP) citation at the Daily Journal (DJ) from 6/13/16 notes that McCrory got $10,000 a month from GEO Group. Could you resend that note to me that I must have accidentally erased after seeing it for a second? Activist (talk) 13:30, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:BellaireHSTexasBears.JPG[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:BellaireHSTexasBears.JPG.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 13:45, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

September 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing an article on Wikipedia, you will see a small field labeled "Edit summary" shown under the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Plus, it will be easier for you and your co-editors to collaborate on articles if, instead of making multiple consecutive edits in rapid succession on an article, you use the "Show preview" button to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits. This keeps the page history of the article less cluttered. Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 02:01, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection[edit]

Padlock-blue.svg Hello, WhisperToMe. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.

Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.

In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:

  • Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
  • A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:49, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Japanese School in Bucharest[edit]

Hello,
The Japanese Embassy in Bucharest does not mention this school. Do you find it notable? I ask if to translate the article in Romanian.

There is another funny fact, the school is in Voluntari, the fief of ro:Florentin Pandele, the husband of Mme Firea. Mme Firea spoke very badly about designation of Timișoara as European Capital of Culture. --Turbojet (talk) 06:42, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Ok, I will translate the article. First I want to translate Wikipedia:Ten Year Society.
Voluntari is a military zone, very safe, recommended by the Romanian Government, and there is free land.
Yes, between Bucharest and Timișoara is a very big rivalry. :D Timișoara was a Kingdom of Hungary capital in XIV century. --Turbojet (talk) 07:56, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. Need some help on reference-translations for my GA review for Causeway Bay Books disappearances[edit]

I am doing a Good Article review for Causeway Bay Books disappearances at Talk:Causeway Bay Books disappearances/GA1. You seem to be someone who can speak or read Chinese. Could you do a spot-check of some of the references in their original language? I don't want to Pass the article to GA status and then find out I missed something in the references because of my reliance on Google Translate...
If you could respond with any thoughts or concerns at Talk:Causeway Bay Books disappearances/GA1 so I could keep the GA info all in one place that would be helpful. If you'd rather not or don't have the time - that's cool, I am also asking a few other Wikipedians for assistance on checking the references in the original language. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 23:48, 26 October 2016 (UTC)

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins[edit]

Hello,

Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers[edit]

Hi WhisperToMe.

A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.

It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.

If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:48, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Capital International Airport[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Capital International Airport has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Capital International Airport is the official name of another airport in Egypt that will be inaugurated in few months.[1][2]

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. YKSD[edit]

You asked RadioKAOS about the district. I was editing the Minto article and noticed your inquiry. I assumed you want a picture of the District HQ, but you weren't clear. As you may have noticed, the district's website doesn't include any photos of the HQ, though it has pictures of staff persons. There is a remote shot, but it just shows an aerial view of the larger neighborhood. You may alternatively have wondered why the HQ is in Fairbanks. Check this URL and you'll see why. The total population of the villages it serves are all under 400, and some are under 100. All are somewhat isolated, including from each other, but a few are along the Iditarod (race) trail, the only few days of the years that much is going on in those places. If it is a photo you want, you could probably write to the district and they'd take and post one, or at least share it with you with permission for you to post it. I wasn't aware, but their HQ also shares space with one of the few administrative centers for the state-funded home schooling program. RadioKAOS also lives in Fairbanks, I think, so he (?) could probably take a photo and upload it for you in a pinch. http://www.yksd.com/domain/3 I hope this is helpful Activist (talk) 15:01, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

@Activist: Thanks for the notification. Unfortunately, my time for this has been relatively limited for going on the past 14 months, due to both career and health-related issues. When I have had enough time, it seems to get eaten up either by an endless series of contrived "controversies" or by WP:OWN editors who are looking for any excuse they can do undo my work and #### all over my good faith. Anyway, I no longer remember what I did or didn't say about this when I was first asked, but I took and uploaded a photo to Commons roughly two-and-a-half years ago, which is at File:Yukon-Koyukuk School District offices.JPG.
As to what Activist spoke about: first, the headquarters technically isn't in Fairbanks, but rather within the census-designated place boundaries of College roughly a quarter-mile west of Fairbanks city limits. That may only be important if the intent is to refer to it in the article on Fairbanks. We say at the very beginning that it's an article about the city of Fairbanks, but every editor who comes along appears to have their own arbitrary definition of what Fairbanks is, often bearing little relation to what's clearly defined through sources. Second, the state government performed a comprehensive overhaul of the educational structure in 1975, due to a combination of the Hootch and Tobeluk cases, the elimination of the separate military school districts in the Anchorage, Fairbanks and Kodiak areas, and the elimination of a state-operated central school serving those outside of existing districts. In rural areas, the legislature created the Unorganized Borough School District, obstensibly overseen by the legislature, though in reality they have always taken a hands-off approach to much of anything having to do with the Unorganized Borough apart from occasionally proposing new organized boroughs. This "school district" was divided into 20+ REAAs (rural education attendance areas), of which YKSD is one. Here's the central point to all this. Alaska has two classes of city governments, which deliniates things like city structure, election and terms of officials and the services these cities provide. State law requires that first-class cities in the Unorganized Borough operate city school districts separate from their surrounding REAAs. In YKSD's region, the largest cities are Galena, Nenana and Tanana, all three of which are first-class cities. So Activist is spot-on correct in mentioning that the district serves communities lacking in both infrastructure and population, henceforth making it attractive to locate its headquarters in a place which isn't so lacking and is "centralized" in the sense that next-door Fairbanks International Airport is the most obvious connecting point for these communities. Otherwise, Galena is an administrative headquarters of sort for the area like Fort Yukon is for the area upriver, and would have made a likely spot for district headquarters if not for the requirement that they operate their own school district. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 01:51, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
@RadioKAOS: Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware of the proper name for the Molly Hootch case. Sorry to hear you're still having health issues. I also share your frustration with difficult editors. I wonder how many careful and prolific editors they've driven off. I've gone 'round and 'round with one, N---shift, who has irked WhisperToMe as well. The worst was CFredrick, who I'm almost certain was a full-time, paid political editor for over three years, but who only got permanently banned at last for sockpuppetry in October. Hi. Recently, while expanding the article named above, I checked the edit history, and was quite surprised - I do appreciate stubs, but this [18] definitely doesn't need 14 edits [19] to make. Speedy deletion nomination of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://police.ge/en/ministry/structure-and-offices. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Re: Jared Fogle[edit]

Regarding his residence, as listed in the infobox, the purpose of the "residence" infobox entry is to show where one lives in civilian life, not in prisoner life. Prisons are not built to serve as residences, per se; their purpose is to keep criminals locked up, and away from their homes. One's place of incarceration is already designated to be listed elsewhere in the infobox, under "conviction_status." Listing that same info under "residence" would therefore be redundant. JSYK. Greggens (talk) 04:14, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

While you've certainly made some good points, it should be noted that Fogle does not have a life sentence or a death sentence; thus, he is expected to get out of prison eventually, and either return to his last city of residence (usually the default for many prisoners) or go live elsewhere if he so chooses. And he does still have family that can contact him while he's in prison (though in the case of his children, he can only see them either with supervision or through a plate glass separator). Besides, if his prison cell location did count as a "residence," then there shouldn't even be an infobox entry for "residence" at all. Either the "residence" entry should show his last known city or town of "regular life" residence, or that entry should have nothing there at all. Greggens (talk) 21:48, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

re: creation of Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education page.[edit]

Thank you for your feedback; I agree that currently, all the information in the Atlanta Board of Education article could be encompassed within the Atlanta Public Schools page. However, I hope the article will be expanded and, when it is, there are two reasons why I think the page deserves to be separate:

First, in general, I believe city school boards deserve a page because they are the groups of elected officials who make decisions about large amounts of public funds and having Wikipedia pages on the subject increases the transparency of information and decreases the asymmetry of information re: both the elected officials and the office they hold.

Second, the Atlanta Board of Education has a fairly unique recent history, with turnover of 2/3 of the Board in the last election and a think a section on that era of the school board, in particular, is relevant. F.I.L.A. (talk) 20:39, 2 January 2017 (UTC)F.I.L.A.

Wake County School Templates[edit]

FYI - when you redirected those templates, you accidentally redirected them to the *talk* pages of the new master template ([20], [21], [22]), causing transclusion issues. I have fixed the three redirects. However, many of the pages including the template are now doing so TWICE - you may want to take a look at that. JPG-GR (talk) 13:26, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

Photo request: McGovern Centennial Gardens[edit]

Hi, WhisperToMe. I have a request. Last time I was in Houston, I had the pleasure of visiting the McGovern Centennial Gardens. I created Wikipedia article stubs for all of the sculptures installed throughout the gardens. However, they are currently unillustrated. No rush, and no worries if you are unavailable or uninterested, but if you find yourself near the McGovern Centennial Gardens, I would very much appreciate you taking pictures of the sculptures there, and uploading them here at Wikipedia under fair use. There are 14 sculptures, all within a very close vicinity. There are 10 installed within the Hawkins Sculpture Garden:

McGovern also includes the statues: Confucius (2009), Dawn (1971), Mahatma Gandhi (2004), and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (2007). Whether or not you're able to help, I appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, and keep up the great work! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:21, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

By the way, many of the Lillie and Hugh Roy Cullen Sculpture Garden articles are also unillustrated. If you have any interest in museums, public art, gardens, sculpture, etc, and you've not visited these gardens, I highly recommend! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:23, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Hôpital Albert Schweitzer[edit]

Hello WhisperToMe! There is currently an ongoing discussion on this hospital's talk page that has since been stagnate. Formerly two independent articles, Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Gabon and the current which was solely used for a hospital in Haiti that share the same name (both use French as an official language) has recently had the contents of Gabon's hospital merged with the Haiti article. Prior to the merge I did not even know it was taking place, for whatever reason. Opposing editor and I differ on whether the two hospitals are independent. More of this discussion can be found on its talk page. I would much appreciate a third opinion on the matter. Thank you kindly. Savvyjack23 (talk) 01:19, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Just forgot. The film's IMDb page, in case you need it. --10:22, 3 March 2017 (UTC)79.179.210.149 (talk)
Saw you just created the article. Thank you so very much once again! I will be able to start enlarging it in a couple of hours. Meanwhile, please do not forget about the theatrical poster linked above, which needs to be uploaded, and the Category:Films directed by David Perlov, which needs to be created.--79.179.210.149 (talk) 18:15, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
By the way, if, for some copyrights issue or another, or, due to any other reason, you are not able to upload the theatrical release poster, an alternative would be to upload the DVD cover. And please do not forget about creating Category:Films directed by David Perlov. Thanks!--79.179.210.149 (talk) 10:19, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Many thanks once again for the poster and category!--79.179.210.149 (talk) 19:12, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
Hi again. I have meanwhile translated this article from the German wiki and submitted it as a draft here. Can you please approve it? Once you do, can you please also upload the film's poster, available at its IMDb page, and, create Category:Films directed by Michal Bat-Adam plus a similar template? Many thanks! My current IP is--79.179.101.6 (talk) 11:25, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
Someone else just approved it. Would still be very grateful for the category, template, and poster. Thanks.--79.179.101.6 (talk) 20:27, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
To make things easier, I have submitted drafts for the category and template myself, leaving you only with the poster, so, feel free to approve those if you get the chance. Many thanks!--79.179.101.6 (talk) 14:34, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
Category just got approved.--79.179.101.6 (talk) 14:49, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Montrose and Neartown merge?[edit]

Should the Houston Neartown article be merged into the Montrose article? Montrose seems to be the preferred description of the same area. The new signage calls the area Montrose, not Neartown. Newspapers and TV reports also refer to the area as Montrose, not Neartown. For what it is worth, I have not heard anyone refer to Montrose as Neartown in the last ten years. Speedy deletion nomination of Simmons High School[edit]

A tag has been placed on Simmons High School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

Please archive your talk page. Please. (also Adak schools)[edit]

Hi. I came here to post a couple of links about the Adak schools. By the time the page finished loading, I'd almost forgotten.

Anyway, while one can't say this directly because it would be WP:SYNTH, the naval station's closure caused a major drop in population, and fewer people=fewer schools. This public health assessment says "In 1990, the Naval Complex was occupied by 5,600 people (2,800 military)...By March 31, 1997, most military personnel had left. April 1, 1997, Adak entered into caretaker status with a staff of 10 Navy personnel and approximately 200 civilians as contractor employees."

This EIR says there were 551 students and 37 teachers. By 2014, they only had 25 according to the city of Adak.

p.s. Please archive your talk page. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 07:35, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Plainfield Community School Corporation[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Plainfield Community School Corporation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Speedy deletion nomination of Portugália Airlines[edit]

Epps[edit]

I looked at your first couple of edits on the Epps article. That Buntin material has been in there for years. I never even noticed that it didn't have an infobox. I've never looked at it closely. I think the only thing I found interesting in his family life was his mom's position, which I noticed a couple of years ago. I'm guessing that he came from a very well educated household not much removed from the James Farmer/James Meredith era, in the Deep South, which was remarkable. I'll take a look at the rest. I spent a lot of time, which I really couldn't spare, bringing the Operation Mississippi Hustle up to date, interested in it mainly because of the corruption, and went back and forth from there. However, it was so tedious that I figured I'd get back to the Epps article when and if I had the time. I recall that you and I discussed the Parchman article maybe a couple of years ago. I was interested in the terracing of the farm (which might have been done with mules and plows, not all that many decades ago) from surface contour or aerial maps, and you noted the huge amount of acreage, I think. In the OMH article, I found a couple of mistakes of facts in the source articles. When I do that I often send a note to the reporters and they usually thank me and change them so the web version is correct. I'll go back and look at your subsequent edits and comments. Once again, thanks for your keen eye. Thanks much! P.S. I did some work on the Healy family article months ago, interested because of the Civil War era education of the mixed-blood children and their really remarkable professional success, which was only because they went to school in the NE and had careers there, D.C. and Canada, except for Michael, who was a Revenue Service (USCG) cutter captain. Activist (talk) 08:49, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

P.S. I meant to correct the sentence length. Two or more reporters who covered the story mentioned that Epps would be doing almost 20 years. However, there was a typo in one story that was copied into Wikipedia about it: It said Wingate gave him "325" months. It was actually 235 months. Also, the reporter figured that as "19.7" years. Obviously, it rounds up to 19.6 years. The Gates story had video with a crawl that confirmed the 235 figure. Sheesh! I meant to check it on PACER, but hadn't gotten around to it. I don't like to download many docs because they don't charge you for under $15 worth per calendar quarter, and occasionally I pull transcripts which can get spendy. There's a class action suit right now about the (over)charges, and I was solicited to opt in or out of the class. Activist (talk) 10:12, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
P.P.S. Whichever reporter or his paper that had written the story and had the typo, "325," rather than "235" months for the Epps sentence, spotted the mistake and not only corrected it in the original, for the Clarion-Ledger, but also for the wire services that picked up the story from Gannett or AP (Jimmie Gates or Jeff Amy, I think) and it's corrected everywhere I looked, so the Wikipedia article citations are now directing to revised, accurate stories. Proposed deletion of Consulate-General of Indonesia, Houston[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Consulate-General of Indonesia, Houston has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Consulates are not in general notable, and there is no indication that this one is any exception.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
