Help[edit]

Hi Wongdai, did you have a specific question you needed help with? Hoof Hearted 14:45, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes,sorry if this causes any trouble for you,but i would like to become a member of the wikipedian recent changes patrol, but don't know what a 'monobook script' is,could you give me instructions on how to become a RCP.By the way thanks for answering my request for help. Wongdai 18:06,5 April 2007 (UTC)
Wow, this topic is way beyond my expertise - you may want to replace the {{help me}} template for a more knowledgeable response. If you head over to WP:RCP, you can read a nice overview of the project. Joining the project is voluntary and it looks like you just start doing it. There are several Tools that make patrolling recent changes easier, such as RC patrol script. Some of these require registration, likeVandalProof. I believe the monobook to which you are referring is the default skin used in wikipedia, so if someone is suggesting a monobook script, they are probably describing a program that will look like your standard graphics setup. Do you have a link that mentions "monobook script"? Sorry that I can't provide you better answers. Hoof Hearted 17:56, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but, i attempted to follow the instructions and i checked out the link you suggested, but i didn't understand, it said (in the category 'Wikipedian recent changes patrollers') this, 'Non-admins, you are welcome to add // Admin-like RC Patrol tools document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="' + 'http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:VoA/monobook.js' + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>'); // to your monobook script. This will give you admin-like revert tools if you are using the monobook skin (default). It already includes popups, so delete that script from your js before adding this.' I cannot understand what it is trying to instruct me to do, as i cannot add this to my 'monobook script' and i dont know what my 'js' is.Yet again i'm sorry for the hastle but i'm a new user who is not that fluent with specific wikipedia functions. Wongdai 10:21, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Wongdai, javascript is very new to me. But I believe you have to add this code to your own monobook.js page. So in your case, you should go to User:Wongdai/monobook.js and copy the code from VoA's page to yours. It's just like editting any other page. I also went to Voice of All's user page for JavaScript and it says you may have to copy some of the prerequisite codes as well. He might be a better person to ask, since I don't know very much about scripts. Hoof Hearted 21:42, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to your email[edit]

Yeah. What it says up there. Sorry I didn't respond to you earlier, That explanation is in my email. Tohru Honda13 01:52, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application[edit]

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Wongdai. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that: You have less then 250 mainspace edits. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. Prodego talk 16:04, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you help me write this article?[edit]

Hello,

I was wondering if you would be willing to help me write either Seikichi_Iha or Shorin-ryu_Shido-kan. Tkjazzer 21:48, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

Excuse me but in the future could you please not resort to petty vandalism in order to solve disputes. --Davard 10:09, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VandalProof[edit]

I have noticed on your page that you have reffered to the fact you have VandalProof when I know that is an outright lie. In the future please do not claim to be anything that you are not on Wikipedia. Further breaches of this kind will result in a temporary or permanent block. --Davard 10:18, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

I appreciate your concern, but adding poorly spelt attack messages to my user page is not the way to go about solving disputes. I am fully authorised to remove any unaccurrate statements on other User Pages and will not accept you telling me I do not. Please discontinue such behaviour or you will be blocked. --Davard 10:23, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An Automated Message from HagermanBot[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 10:40, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Wongdai[edit]

If you feel you have been bitten by another user please , read this section on WP:BITE. If you have any questions on how to handle anything, yes anything whatsoever, on Wikipedia, contact me here. I hope this helps you! Regards, «razorclaw» 19:04, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Davard is not an administrator.

Yes, Devard is not an admin. You can check on a user's rights at Special:Listusers. An admin will have (Administrator) by their name, while regular users have nothing. You may want to remove the userbox, Davard is correct in that you are not approved for VP, though it is little more then a show of good faith to him/her, it certainly can't hurt. Razorclaw has left a notice on Davard's talk page, so if you need anything else, just let me know. Prodego talk 21:43, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there[edit]

Heh, I'm probably not that much interesting as you may think... ^_^; I do have some talent for learning languages, but one can never master any language without actually speaking it; in my case, I only got a chance to use English (mostly here on Wikipedia), and I still tend to make stupid grammar mistakes -_-;. My mom is interested in the Japanese culture, and I eventually got interested in it, too. I think this is why I started to like anime and manga, and even try to learn Japanese...

Anyway, I was going to comment on what you wrote on Talk:Tokyo Mew Mew... though I already did it on that page itself. The main idea of what I wrote is that this article has very little info on the show in general; if we move stuff to separate articles, the main article will become very short and useless. What is bad is that I have no idea on what else can be added in relation to the show itself. It could be some more specific info about the manga and anime series. If you have any ideas, please post them at Talk:Tokyo Mew Mew, because it helps improving the articles.

I just created this article on this very topical subject. The subject matter would make for a good featured article, so I am hoping to enlist your help to get it there qualitatively. Ohconfucius 02:36, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Venue suggestion needed for a meet-up in Yuen Long[edit]

Hello[edit]

Good to hear from you. I have taken the liberty of slightly cleaning up your user page, hope you don't mind. HAve a nice day. Ohconfucius 02:00, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nice to hear from you too. It's really a pity that new users get missed out on Wikipedia given the roaming speed of user registration. Some people often try to figure out the rules by trial and error, just as I did. It's really nice that you survived - I nearly drowned. --Deryck C. 04:18, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: User Page[edit]

Hello Wong Dai, thanks for your compliment. Yes, you can have pictures, even galleries, on your user page, not just user boxes. Cheers.--K.C. Tang 04:39, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese Music History[edit]

Hi, I found via the participants list of WikiProject Chinese language entertainment. I myself have worked on the article for Chinese rock a few times in the past and am dedicated to present Chinese music online to those that don't speak Chinese, i.e. 5/6 of the world.

As you can see from my user page, I am also one of the founding members of Rock in China (which currently expanded to Music-China.org). Our community is also a Mediawiki-based system solely focussed on Chinese music with one major difference: Whereas Wikipedia would like to be an encyclopedia with the aim to capture humankind's knowledge in brief, short and destinctive articles, it is our aim to present Chinese music in all its details and as much information as possible. As we like to say, we are preparing the reference page that Wikipedia is linking to. You can see the page for Cui Jian as example where this is implemented.

The main reason I am writing to you is that we have started a new project at Music-China.org called 'Chinese Music History' during which we want to document the complete history of Chinese music in all its details and cross-reference it to Wikipedia, i.e. work on both platforms according to each platforms' aims.

I would like to invite you, as member of the WikiProject Chinese language entertainment to help us build up both wikis, Wikipedia and Music-China.org. Please feel free to read more about us and the the project.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:00, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
