Welcome to Wikipedia!!![edit]

Hello Xcia0069! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. If you decide that you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Below are some recommended guidelines to facilitate your involvement. Happy Editing! -- Kukini 17:10, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Full list of works by Artemisia Gentileschi may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s and 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Grasshopper Jungle[edit]

Hi! Some of my students, who have previously assembled secondary research on the novel in question, are currently attempting to make the page truly encyclopedic by submitting all the usual sections. The speedy deletion candidacy meets no objections from me, as in its current form it's obviously not all there, but I expect it'll be up to general standards shortly, though it's quite possible they'll need to edit it substantially before it's really strong. In any case, part of the mission I've set them was operating within and up to Wikipedia's standards, so don't treat them any differently than you'd treat anyone else. Thanks! Incorrect tagging[edit]

I notice you tagged Daniel Macdonald (missionary) as an orphan, but at the point you tagged it, there were two incoming links from other articles. Were you using some tool to check? If so, it may need to be fixed. StAnselm (talk) 11:59, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

Dear,

I have removed the "Orphan tag" you had put on this page.
I have created links in the related pages Motets (Bruckner) and List of compositions by Anton Bruckner, as well as in {{Anton Bruckner}}.

Best regards, --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (To reply) 12:08, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

PS: As you can see in Motets (Bruckner) this is the last but one page to be created on Anton Bruckner's motets.
I will create later the page on the last one (Iam lucis orto sidere, WAB 18), as well as a page on the also in Motets (Bruckner) mentioned Vor Arneths Grab, WAB 53. --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (To reply) 12:23, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

Statue of Carlo Barberini[edit]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Statue of Carlo Barberini, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Memorial to Carlo Barberini. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 10:12, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Portrait of Goffredo Mameli[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Portrait of Goffredo Mameli has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication why this drawing is notable enough to warrant a stand-alone article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. New Page Reviewer[edit]

Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg

Hello Xcia0069. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog (around 15,000 pages) down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:31, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

AfD intricacies[edit]

Hi, regarding this AfD nomination: a second deletion discussion is normally started on a separate page from the first one. You might want to have a look at the text after bullet 1 of part I of WP:AFDHOWTO. Also, I see you've notified the creator of the page, but they've only created it as a redirect after a move. It might be a good idea to notify the actual creator: the user who turned the redirect into an article. Thanks! – Uanfala (talk) 14:46, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

A3 speedy on Divya Sathyaraj[edit]

Hi Xcia0069 -- before tagging anything for deletion always look at the edit history. You can't apply A3 (blank) to articles which previously had content that's been removed. These are sometimes eligible for G7 (user request) but only if the page's sole editor blanks the page, which was not the case here. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 18:16, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.2[edit]

Hello Xcia0069,
Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg
A HUGE backlog

We now have 367 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election[edit]

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Still a MASSIVE backlog

We now have 367 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.

unenvied-agent procedure[edit]

In reply to your question: the unenvied-agent procedure is a procedure for dividing items among people in a fair way. It is an algorithm that takes as input a set of items and a set of people, and produces as output a partition of the items to subsets - one subset per person. It belongs to the family of fair item assignment procedures. If you have any more questions I will be happy to clarify. --Erel Segal (talk) 14:09, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Esther before Ahasuerus (Artemisia Gentileschi)[edit]

Two points about this article you have created:

  1. When you create an article at a disambiguated title (ie it has something in brackets), remember to make it possible to find it from the straight title. In this case a hatnote was needed at Esther before Ahasuerus - I've added it.
  2. Just because a painting exists, and is in a major collection, it's not necessarily notable enough for a standalone Wikipedia article. Please add more sources to show that this particular painting has substantial coverage in independent reliable sources. Wikipedia can't just become a parallel catalogue for the world's major art collections. PamD 10:27, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
And (3): If you add a category and it shows up in red, please take the trouble to find the correct name of the category. In this case Category:Paintings of the Metropolitan Museum of Art was right (I've fixed it) but you'd put Category:Paintings in Metropolitan Museum of Art. Little words like "of the" and "in" matter. I found it by going to the Museum of Modern Art page, going to its category at the bottom (Category:Museum of Modern Art), and then looking at Category:Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art where I found this one. I've also linked the museum, and linked to the Italian Wikipedia article on the painting - though it's not a good model to follow as it's completely unsourced, not even as much as the Met catalogue record! PamD 10:38, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
