ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. WHFV-TV[edit]

First off, excellent work on this page. Well done! Here is a logo for the station from TVIV.org, it was clearly cropped from this page. It's the only logo I could find in a Google search. It appears it came from a October 8, 1973 add in the Free Lance-Star newspaper, so you could source it to there instead of PMSimon or TVIV. Keep up the great work! :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 03:58 on July 31, 2016 (UTC)

Thank you! I actually found these two logos in my research (literally sitting and flipping through 22 months' worth of FLS archives, glad that's over), planning to use the second one, I just didn't have time to upload it last night. Xenon54 (talk) 11:30, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
You're Welcome! :) I kinda like the first logo better, it's different and I like all things different. :) I know what you mean about sifting through documents ad nauseum. When I worked on the WINC (AM) article, I went through hundreds of pages of various magazines, local newspapers, and more. I didn't want to see a newspaper for a week after that...seriously. :)
This site will help you in any radio or TV station article you might work on. Each of the various magazines and yearbooks are searchable, which makes things a lot easier. Even if you aren't working on an article, it's a really neat site to kill time on. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 12:04 on July 31, 2016 (UTC)

Removing "U.S. 85B" from list of divided U.S. Routes[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you reverted my edit on this page, and said "U.S. 85B" was a business route of "U.S. 85". I believe this is incorrect. The route is marked with a "U.S. 85B" shield, and it does not reconnect to U.S. 85. It starts at the junction of "U.S. 2", and "U.S. 85", and ends at "North Dakota 1804".

The issue is your definition of "divided route" is wrong. (1) To quote the article: "Some U.S. Routes are given directional suffixes to indicate a split of the main route [...] These splits were in the U.S. Highway system from the beginning, and were used when two roughly-equivalent routes existed." This refers specifically to those with N/E/S/W suffixes, which indicates more than one mainline of equivalent importance. A/B suffixes are by definition not part of the route mainline. Not returning to the mainline at the other end does not make it a special case. (2) As the article also says, these divided routes date to the beginning of each route. AASHTO has never approved one after a route's creation in its entire history and will never approve a new one. (3) To do my due diligence, I checked, and there is no application in AASHTO's records for a new auxiliary route in Williston. There is an application from 2013 to extend US 85 over the new Williston bypass. US 85B doesn't even officially exist as part of the US Route system.

Thanks for not starting an edit war over this. Xenon54 (talk) 04:15, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

DYK for WCHV (AM)[edit]

Updated DYK query.svg On 21 February 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article WCHV (AM), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that WCHV, the oldest radio station in Charlottesville, Virginia, was founded more than 200 miles (320 km) away on the campus of Emory and Henry College? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/WCHV (AM). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, WCHV (AM)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
