Orphaned non-free image (Image:NotProudScreenshot.PNG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NotProudScreenshot.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:05, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Xin 270903201650528856848.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Xin 270903201650528856848.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 17:01, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Katrinalaya[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

The article Katrinalaya has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:43, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Image copyright problem with Image:Tonsil Trouble.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Tonsil Trouble.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:45, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:3386a.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Tonsil Trouble.jpg. The copy called Image:Tonsil Trouble.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 15:14, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Bexley Pizza Plus[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

A tag has been placed on Bexley Pizza Plus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.  Frank  |  talk  15:11, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Contribution to article "Bexley Middle School"[edit]

(Sorry if you deleted this--I just resubmitted it because I thought there might have been a technical problem.)

Hi! I noticed your contribution of the article Bexley Middle School. I also noticed your note saying that you are still working on the article. This is okay. But, did you know that you can create your own, personal sandbox which you can use to work on your new articles before officially creating them? Many users use their own sandboxes to prepare the articles they are writing. This way, they can just cut and paste the written article from their sandbox to the new article page. To create your own sandbox, simply do the following:

1. Go to your user page. Open the "Edit this Page" screen for your userpage.

2. Copy the following text into the page code (just insert it where you want the link to appear.)

[[User:Xxhopingtearsxx/Sandbox]]

3. Save the page.

4. Now, look on your userpage. There should be a red link saying, User:Xxhopingtearsxx/Sandbox.

Click on that link. (Or, on the one right up.................................here^, actually.)

5. You are now at the "create this page" screen.

6. Copy the following text into the page editor:

{{User Sandbox}}

----

<!-- EDITS GO BELOW HERE -->

7. Save the page.

8. You now have your own personal sandbox to do (almost) whatever you want in! You can also make more sandboxes if you want to. Just be sure to name the new sandbox differently, like this:

User:Xxhopingtearsxx/Sandbox 2

Note: If you don't understand the above instructions, or simply want someone else to do it for you, just ask me on my talk page, and I will be happy to create the sandbox for you. Just ask, and I'll have it done in a jiffy! (If it's not waay late at night, but I'm available for the next couple hours.)

Good luck on the article you are working on! I hope what I posted helps make your Wikipedia experience more enjoyable. If you have any questions, just ask me on my userpage. Cheers!

Speedy deletion of Santa Barbara County Fires[edit]

A tag has been placed on Santa Barbara County Fires requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Speedy deletion nomination of The Dust bowl[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on The Dust bowl, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Proposed deletion of Andrew Simmons (journalist)[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Andrew Simmons (journalist) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for catching all my grammatical errors. I've basically been scouring news sources for the last 8 hour writing the shootings sections. I'm off to bed. Hopefully you can do something with the section and I haven't left it a complete mess. Mkdwtalk 11:22, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Welcome![edit]

  • Welcome yourself! Looking at your talk page gives a good first impression of who you are. --213.196.218.39 (talk) 12:22, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
  • That's right! You can tell I'm a guy who's been editing for Wikipedia since 2006. I've made mistakes and I still make mistakes. Nobody's perfect. You didn't seem to hostile to someone else when they said you were soapboxing.--Xxhopingtearsxx (talk) 12:26, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Btw, I've undone your bad-faith, selective SPA-tagging. Not because it evidently happened in bad faith, but because you managed to bungle the job on top of that. If you cannot even properly follow template instructions, don't use templates. If you have been here since 2006 and cannot use templates, maybe it's time to get another hobby. --213.196.218.39 (talk) 12:29, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Please stop it with the SPA-tagging. You are intentionally creating more heat than light. Cut it out. --213.196.218.39 (talk) 12:41, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Please stop it now. The account Beeman86991 (talk · contribs) was created specifically for participation in that discussion. That is obviously not the same as someone just posting a comment from IP. --213.196.218.39 (talk) 12:47, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

(edit conflict)SPA tagging is not helpful on Sandy Hook -- there are sufficient experienced editors monitoring the article, and SPA is generally only helpful for things like Afds to alert closing admins of the nature of an account. We all know there are lots of new editors trying to help us at Sandy Hook; rather than being unfriendly with tags lets try to convert them into long term editors. NE Ent 12:49, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Talk:Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. NE Ent 12:50, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

  • For the record: The User:Beeman86991 account was created at 11:31, 17 December 2012 (see Special:Log/Beeman86991). The first edit of that account was made at 11:37, 17 December 2012 (see Special:Contributions/Beeman86991). So the account was specifically created for participation at the Newtown shooting talk page. The effort of creating an account is what sets that user apart from the scores who comment via IP. However, I've decided to not give a fuck and undone my tagging of the account. That bloody SPA template should imho be deleted, I have actually never seen more light than heat coming off of its use and I don't think I'll ever use it again. --213.196.218.39 (talk) 13:00, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Ma-a-n, atti-TUDE! (not to be sexist or assume gender)[edit]

OK. I came to note politely I thought you were a bit arch in your criticism of one small aspect of my substantial, time-pressured work on Eric J. Boswell. (I never do a string of edits on one article.) OK. I'll take the crit now ... as appropriate advice. And thank my lucky stars ... that's all you found. By the way. The article's even better now. Cheers. :-) 07:25 ps The new pic is a great improvement. (Do we watch this?) Swliv (talk) 07:29, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

I'm out on a bit of a limb with you, now. Look ok? Fourth (talk) 08:09, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Only that last one. There's no cite for "acting" yet. (And there is this, too, at some point, besmirched infobox and all :-).) Cheers. Good solstice. Fourth (talk) 19:03, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

Rescue Me (Fontella Bass song)[edit]

Hi. I know that recent obits say that Fontella Bass co-wrote the song - but I'm not convinced. Neither the original record label nor BMI credit her as co-writer, and references to her settlement in the 1990s do not say that it was related to her songwriting claim. What evidence do you have prior to the recent obituaries - many of which obviously come from a common source - that she was the co-writer - a claim that is clearly disputed? (here and here). It may well be that the claim that she was the co-writer was made by the press on the basis of them reading our article after this unreferenced edit in 2009. I've added a quote from this book to give more background. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:54, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
