Speedy deletion nomination of Attenuata imbrex

[edit]

Hello Ywa251,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Attenuata imbrex for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

An article you recently created, BC Toxicology News Monthly Bulletin (BCTOX), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Ywa251. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:31, 4 April 2020 (UTC).[reply]

I've blocked you for 60 hours to stem the unending tide of copyright violations, and to give you a chance to read the COI warning above. I will unblock you sooner if you give an undertaking to stop posting copyright text and explain what connection you have with BC Toxicology News Monthly Bulletin (BCTOX) which you have been promoting through an article and on your user page. Ping me when you are ready to address these issues Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:46, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It was state on the Wikipedia “ Conflict of interest (COI) editing involves contributing to Wikipedia about yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships. Any external relationship can trigger a conflict of interest. That someone has a conflict of interest is a description of a situation, not a judgement about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith.” I am only participate in BCTOX, online journal platform. I just knew it is a UBC online journal under UBC blog and google scholar. I was mistaken it as my user page where I only want to make a page for this online publication. The information I had for this online publication was only on their online platform websites, and their editors. I didn’t even have a explanation of what they are because I don’t know. For many other pages I edited, was a mistaken for plagiarism where I think I am missing some quotation marks after in-text citation. I act as unpaid for any editing. I think someone should verify the proper citation before it is totally removed. I’m just disappointed about Wikipedia, please do delete my other edits and my account too. Ywa251 (talk) 19:51, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, made a mistake, it should be “I am not participate in BCTOX in any form”. Ywa251 (talk) 19:53, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As of I cannot edit my previous edits, please delete all my edits I’ve done in the past 48 hours. And also, I would like my account being removed from Wikipedia users. Ywa251 (talk) 19:54, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Violation

[edit]

I don’t even think I violated G11. G11 is about promoting something. I just edited an article on BCTOX and the only thing on there is their publication websites and editors for that publication, just like a simple version of the article for NIH. I didn’t even put further information such as it is a online journal publication of UBC and it is a non-profit publication. I don’t work for them either, I just knew this publication and want to edit as in a natural point of view.

For other plagiarism violations, I was missing quotation marks where them should be. Do to largely missing pages on biological species, I prefer someone to edit proper citations for these pages. I’m just disappointed in Wikipedia and maybe this is why large scientific data are missing.

Because I’m blocked from editing, please do remove all my past edits as well as remove my account too. Thanks Ywa251 (talk) 20:15, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for email. I'm happy to accept that you don't have a COI, but your text was promotional, consisting as it did of Dedicated to Toxicological Issues in Population and Environmental Health in British Columbia plus contact details and web links, with no independent verifiable sources or evidence of notability.

With regard to the plant articles, it's not a matter of attribution or quotation marks. Although you can quote small amounts of copyright text for illustrative purposes, you can't legally copy someone else's works wholesale. All your article were between 75% and 85% copied from sources that were not explicitly public domain. Text here must be free to use for all purposes, including commercial, see WP:COPY.

I think I've already removed your copyright-violating articles, your account can't be deleted though. Unblocking shortly Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:38, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
