Misuse of infobox parameters

[edit]

Please don't misuse infobox parameters as you've done here. Please read the Template:Infobox person instructions. We don't add non-notable parents to the infobox and we don't care about cute fan nicknames for the actor. This field is for notable names that the subject is known by, like professional names, pen names, etc. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:34, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Other_names parameter

[edit]

Again, re: this, the |other_names= parameter is not for social media handles. Please stop misusing this parameter. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:23, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh now I understand. Can i plz help me about one thing? Zraybank (talk) 03:27, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you understand, since this edit also didn't seem useful, in addition to being unsourced. This parameter is not for cute nicknames people have called him. We don't put "Superstar Mammootty" or "Thalapathy Vijay" or "Perfect Actor Mohanlal" any other nonsense in that field. It's not to be used to indicate what his mother or friends called him. If you don't know how to use it properly, don't use it. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:17, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Italics

[edit]

Re: this, if you're going to add content, at least try to copy other properly-formatted content, please. In this case, we always italicise the titles of major works like books, movies, television series, record albums, etc. So Sadhak Bamakhyapa is not correct, Sadhak Bamakhyapa is correct. We achieve this by adding two single-quotes before and after the title, like ''Sadhak Bamakhyapa''. Also, we don't need multiple wikilinks for the same topic. If Colors Bangla already has a link to its article, then please don't add another one. See WP:OVERLINKING. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:31, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sayak Chakraborty

[edit]

In Career use just Sayak . Is it possible? Only Chakraborty don’t look good Zraybank (talk) 19:47, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You really should be opening discussions on the article's talk page instead of your own, since it's not likely anyone is going to check your talk page. To answer your question, it is standard to refer to a person by their last name after you mention their full name once. That's standard in professional writing, and it is consistent with WP:SURNAME. Saying "Sayak Chakraborty is an actor. Sayak Chakraborty has been in 5 films. Sayak Chakraborty has been on 11 television shows." is not professional writing. We do not refer to people by their first name, as that is typically considered too casual. An exception, is if the person's last name is a patronym. What was the point of this change?

[edit]

What was the point of this change? In this source, Chakraborty says he was working as a junior performer in 2006. How is your change an improvement? From my perspective, it is indistinguishable from vandalism, which I'm sure was not your goal. Also, please start using edit summaries so that other editors can understand why you're making the changes that you're making. I shouldn't have to investigate to figure out why you're making the changes you're making. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:47, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
