Vijay Pur (Hindi: विजयपुर) (Punjabi: ਵਿਜੇਪੁਰ) (Urdu: وجے پور‎) is a town and a notified area committee in Samba district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Vijaypur is one of the most fast growing town near Jammu. It has population from all religions, hindus are in majority . It has few famous villages like Thalori, Gurha, Gadwall, Amwal, thandi khui etc in nearby vicinity.It is also home to Radha swami satsang beas center , which lies at distance of 4 kms from town on national highway AIIMS is supposed to be set up at vijaypur granted one each for jammu and kashmir near devak bridge. Vijaypur is settled on the bank of devak river which has religious name mini ganges or gupt ganges. AIIMS institute will surely act as a catalyst in making vijaypur town and periphery areas to renowned city of india. Vijaypur already been a migrated point for all the nearby areas looking into its connectivity and centre place for local. Most of the family staying here are the migrants of the border villages , constant shelling from pakistani side over the years is one of the prominent reasons for the migration , prominent people from the area - Brig Rajinder singh who has been accorded the title of 'savior of kashmir' his village Rajinderpura which is at some distance from vijaypur is known to have given record number of general ranked officers to Indian Army from jammu and kashmir .

Baba Chamliyal Shrine[edit]

Baba Chamliyal

Baba Chamliyal is a religious place 15km from Vijaypur. This place located on International Border in Dug village of Ramgarh. Skin problem are treated here with holy soil (shakkar) and holy water (sharbat). Both Indian and Pakistani people worship this Dargah of a sufi sant Rajput warrior Baba Dalip Singh Manhas. Baba Sidh Goria Shrine[edit]

Baba Sidh Goria Shrine is a very popular shrine in the state of Jammu and Kashmir where people in lakhs pay obeisance annually and is the presiding deity of many clans. It is situated at at Swankha village in Samba district.

Dwarkapuri Hanuman Temple (Barian)[edit]

Dwarkapuri Hanuman temple (Statue of Lord Hanuman) situated in Barian village on national highway in vijaypur. There is holy pond where people takes holy bath. This place is located on the bank of holy Degh Nala/Devak River.

As of 2011 India census,[1] Vijay Pur had a population of 21044. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Vijay Pur has an average literacy rate of 73%, lower than the national average of 74.4%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 69%.
