Viktor Andreievich Simov (1858–1935) was a Russian painter and scenographer who pioneered the use of Naturalistic settings. After having worked for Savva Mamontov's Private Opera Theatre, on 1 May 1898 Simov became the principal designer of Stanislavski and Nemirovich's newly formed Moscow Art Theatre.[1] Simov first met Stanislavski in autumn 1896.[1]
