Vishveshwarya Institute of Engineering and Technology (VIET) (Hindi: विश्वेश्वरैया इन्स्टियूट ऑफ इंजीनीयरिंग ऐन्ड टेक्नोलोजी) is a private engineering college of Uttar Pradesh, India which was established in 2000. It is named after India's first civil engineer Sir Mokshagundam Vishveshwarya.

Campus[edit]

The campus covers over 65 acres on the outskirts of Ghaziabad, in the middle of the fast developing National Capital Region. VIET provides their students high speed, wi-fi connections. At VIET, the institute have state of the art infrastructure including modern Labs,online student monitoring program and best qualified faculty. Library and information Centre of VET offer a comprehensive range of services to help students to get the best out of learning at the campus.

Each department of VIET has its own separate computerized library and networked with others. It enables the users to on-line access for getting information on availability of required book(s). Institutional Membership of INDEST-AICTE Consortium (IEEE & ASME), NPTEL (National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning), DELNET (Developing Library Network) and BCL (British Council of Library) enable the user to get access available e-resources and collection of other member libraries. In campus, VIET have Outlet of Sagar Ratna Restaurant's chain, Oriental Bank of Commerce with ATM facility, medical center, NESCAFE outlet,book store, General store, PCO, gymnasium, and indoor and outdoor games facilities.

The Saraswati Temple adds peace and tranquility to the surroundings. Also located in the campus are a Few Campus-Shops, that take care of the books, stationery items and other day-to-day requirements of the students staying in the hostels.

VIET offers the following undergraduate and post graduate programs. Further programs have been planned for the coming session.

VIET offers the following four-year (B.Tech) degree courses in engineering branches:

  • Electrical and Electronics
  • Electronics and Telecomm
  • Information Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering

The entire course is divided into 8 semesters. All courses are affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU, Lucknow) and approved by All India council of Technical Education(AICTE). 4 courses are accredited by NBA( National Board of Accreditation).

Hostel[edit]

VIET provides hostel facilities on campus for boys and on campus for girls also. Hostels have facilities like hot and cold water supply, medical aid, electricity backup, security, Internet access and recreational facilities etc. The hostlers coming from different states are also grouped together to develop a culture of sharing and cooperation. At present VIET have sufficient infrastructure to accommodate 1600 boys and 350 girls in an academic year.
