Voxofon was a VoIP company that developed mobile apps and communication services that utilised over-the-top (OTT) voice and messaging technologies for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone, and WebOS. It was founded in 2008 and enabled free app-to-app domestic and international calls and texts, as well as the option for users to make international calls and texts to friends and family that use feature phones or landlines. Voxofon self-published that they have ceased operations on November 30, 2022.[1]

In February 2008, Voxofon was established as a privately owned corporation headquartered in Houston, TX. The company launched a web-based app for iPhone in summer of 2008. In October of the same year, Voxofon introduced a VoIP app for Android, then introduced the service BlackBerry smartphones in January 2009, and then later in 2009[when?] for HP's Palm WebOS platform. In October 2010, the Voxofon app was further expanded to support the launch of Windows Phone 7.
In 2012 Voxofon developed Bridge Messaging technology, providing extensive chat features for smartphone to non-smartphone messaging. It also improved its app-to-app messaging, which allowed users to make calls and chat for free. In 2013, Voxofon introduced the option to earn free call credits by doing everyday actions such as taking short surveys, viewing advertisements, or watching short videos. This capability, which is supported on iOS and Android devices, allows users to make paid calls to international destinations for free. At the start of 2014, Voxofon updated their iOS app to include the ability to share photos, videos, voice memos, and location through SMS.
In February 2011, they expanded their support capabilities with a new call center and supports agents fluent in English, Spanish, Norwegian and Russian.

Voxofon previously offered apps for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone. These apps, along with the website, offer free or paid international calling and texting services.
Voxofon let users make calls and send texts to any phone number globally using call credits that can be purchased or earned through micro-tasks on the supported apps. In addition to free calls and texts which were available between Voxofon users without credits.

Voxofon allowed for voice calls and SMS text messages to be sent to 700 networks globally to both smartphones and non-smartphones, supported by web browsers and the company's smartphone apps. Additionally, It offers the ability to make calls and send texts to feature phones and landlines.
