WTA Elite Trophy

The WTA Elite Trophy is a women's tennis tournament featuring singles and doubles draw. On the 2015 WTA Tour the tournament replaces the WTA Tournament of Champions which had been played for the past six years. The tournament offering $2.15 million in prize money will be staged in Zhuhai for the first five years until 2019. The singles championship will feature 12 players ranked between nine and 20 and one wildcard. The players will be split into four groups of three, with the group winners advancing to the single elimination semifinals. The doubles championships will feature six teams in two groups with the group winners contesting the final.[1]
