Ward No. 21, Kolkata Municipal Corporation is an administrative division of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in Borough No. 4, covering parts of Jorabagan neighbourhood in north Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Shyampukur (Vidhan Sabha constituency).[1]

Overview

The boundaries of the ward are as follows: Port Trust’s road leading to Nimtala Ghat Street is to the north. Baisnab Charan Sett Street and Jadulal Mallick Road are to the east. Kalikrishna Tagore Street, Darpanarayan Tagore Street and the Port Trust’s road leading to the Hooghly River Bank are in the south. The Hooghly River is to the west.[2][3]

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Ward No. 21, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, had a total population of 21,187, of which 13,127 (62%) were males and 8,060 (38%) were females. Population below 6 years was 1,295. The total number of literates in Ward No. 21 was 16,016 (78.12% of the population over 6 years). [4]
