Werner I (Bishop of Strasbourg)
Werner I, Bishop of Strasbourg (born between 978 and 980, died October 28, 1028) was bishop of Strasbourg from 1001 until his death in 1028. Werner was one of the last bishops to be appointed by Otto III, Holy Roman Emperor.
According to Eduard Hlawitschka, Werner and his brothers Rudolph I and Radbot of Klettgau were the first members of the Habsburg family. They were sons of Lanzelin, Count of Altenbourg (son of Guntram, Count in Breisgau), and of Lutgart, Countess of Nellenbourg (daughter of Eberhard, Count of Thurgau).
