The mall is currently anchored by The Bon-Ton and Weis Markets. Former anchors at the mall include Hess's, which was replaced by The Bon-Ton; George's IGA, which was replaced by King's Supermarket which was later remodeled and renamed Weis Markets; and J.J. Newberry, which is currently a Sky Zone trampoline park. The mall is mostly one level, but has a small second floor towards the south end of the mall.
Harold S. Campbell opened the mall in 1973. On November 9, 2011, the Westgate Mall started a year-round farmers market called The Market at Westgate that runs on Wednesdays. It started with 15 vendors. The farmers market was closed one year later on October 31, 2012. In addition, a renovation is planned for the mall, which currently has many vacancies.
In August 2015, it was announced that Westgate Mall would undergo extensive renovations. Parts of this renovation included an updated facade, the addition of Sky Zone Trampoline Park, and relocating some of the current tenants.
