Marty Wilde (filter log)
Description
I was attempting to add two objective sources to substantiate that Marty Wilde's "Abergavenny" was indeed a hit in Europe in May 1968 and also in Australia in July 1968. The particular material in each source from which I attempted to cite indeed does appear to be objective, even if some people may, for all I know, think that other material in, or from, the same sources may not be objective. I have been looking for such material for years. So far I have found no other objective sources than these two sources to substantiate those claims.
" in May 1968[1] and Australia in July 1968 (with unofficial #61 rank for all of 1968).[2] "

Please do not block me from editing, since my attempt to add objective sources was made with the best of intentions.

After I exited, I noticed an additional source [1], below, which does not belong to my comments, was added, without my knowledge or action. Likely that source [1] belongs to an earlier comment, above.

I have since been able to add source [2], by itself, to substantiate that "Abergavenny" was indeed a hit in Europe in May 1968.107.185.145.26 (talk) 01:58, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

That would be because you're an IP user using the "spicy boi" phrase. Sorry. I'm monitoring the account; it's now clearly a meme/meatpuppet situation rather than one socker so blocking it when it hasn't edited is a bit OTT. BethNaught (talk) 19:52, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

OsiriX (filter log)
Description
Tried to make several edits noting that Osirix is NOT FREE. It's now commercial software, and all older versions have been removed from the entire internet under DCIM. This is why I hate wikipedia--aholes constantly use it for false advertising. Naturally, my edits became progressively more obnoxious after they were reverted.

Mile High Club (filter log)
Description
The original quote from Brooks's betting book uses the word "fucks". The quote was accurate in an earlier revision of the article, but someone has censored the word, changing it to "penetrates". That is very misleading, since the markup gives the impression that this is a direct quote. The filter will not allow me to change it back. Anyone offended by that word probably shouldn't be looking at this specific article in the first place. :-) Please fix it. Thanks.

IP, the filter is working as expected, but I can see this is a good faith edit and per the sourcehere I can indeed see this is the verbatim text. As Wikipedia does not censor information, I have changed the text back -- samtar talk or stalk 16:48, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

Vietnam (filter log)
Description
Here is what I was trying to add on the Talk page:

"A Western-style system of modern education was developed..."

While not entirely false, this is misleading in the extreme. Such education was only available to collaborationist elite, mostly Catholic, but not necessarily. For the rest of the populace? the overt policy was obscurantism, the infamous "chính sách ngu dân" ("stupid-people policy") (as enumerated by Ho Chi Minh among the offenses of the French, in the Declaration of Independence) – under which people like my wife's grandparents (for one concrete example), if discovered trying to study anything, including simply literacy in the Vietnamese language, could be beaten, tortured, even killed (they were, except for the last).

I'll leave it to you academic heads to rectify this...  :-)

...and this was blocked as "potentially non-constructive"??? ...on a Talk page???

False positive: @KenThuHuong: I'll look at the filter and try to modify it to stop this happening again, but in the meantime I've added the query to the talk page on your behalf. Feel free to respond there -- samtar talk or stalk 07:58, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Telomere (filter log)
Description
Regarding higher plant telomere sequences, check out this reference:

Centromere and telomere sequence alterations reflect the rapid genome evolution within the carnivorous plant genus Genlisea Trung D. Tran1,†, Hieu X. Cao1,†, Gabriele Jovtchev1,‡, Pavel Neumann2, Petr Novak2, Miloslava Fojtova3, Giang T.H. Vu1, Jirı Macas2, Jirı Fajkus3,4, Ingo Schubert1,3 and Joerg Fuchs1,*

"In vascular plants, the heptanucleotide repeat (TTTAGGG) which was first discovered in Arabidopsis thaliana (Richards and Ausubel, 1988) is the most common telomere sequence (Fuchs et al., 1995). Nevertheless, this plant-type telomere repeat is replaced completely or partially by other repeats such as (TTAGGG) or (TTGGGG) or by unknown sequences within families of the monocotyledonous order Asparagales(Adams et al., 2001; Weiss and Scherthan, 2002; Sykorova et al., 2003c, 2006). Telomere repeat alteration was also detected within species of the dicotyledonous family Solanaceae (Sykorova et al., 2003a; Peska et al., 2015)."

The Arabidopsis-type telomere repeat present in G. nigrocaulis were replaced by two variant sequences (TTCAGG) and (TTTCAGG) in G. hispidula and its close relative G. subglabra."
