Original – The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II prime lens is one of the world's most popular lenses. This shows the lens with both the rear (left) and front (right) part of the lens up.
Edit 1 – redone with better light.
Edit 2 – I think the subject is a little cleaner.

    • P.S. note that I will only be able to retake this image for a few days, because one of these was just listed in a 3-day auction on eBay. I will be shipping it on Monday the 21st. Prompt advice on retaking this would be appreciated.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:27, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Bad light, dust on the lens, too little distance between the two lenses and they seem to be tilting away from each other. --Muhammad(talk) 06:38, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have saved over edit1. The day is very overcast. Maybe I can get even better light over the next few days. Dust may still be a problem. I will retry this evening.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:23, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have reverted the original file. This morning's version is edit1 and this afternoon's is edit2.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:24, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • My cache is still showing edit1 for the original.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:25, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy Close Sorry but no chance of promotion. When you've got the perfect shot nominate it then --Muhammad(talk) 08:22, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Just another tip. Stand further away and zoom in more - being so close gives a 'distorted' look. JJ Harrison (talk) 03:08, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
