Original – Texas Purple Thistle or Cirsium horridulum Michaux: a round, spiky, pink flower found in San Antonio, TX during the spring.

  • Weak oppose the present placement of the image in the article does not contribute a lot to the article. I would probably support it if it was the leading image of an article or had a prominent placement other than being in a gallery. Thistles are rather common flowers so it really has to stand out to deserve FP status. For example there are many nice photos of other Cirsium species: 1, . 2. Also, I am dubious about the species: the cirsium article lists Cirsium horridulum as the yellow thistle, but this flower is clearly purple/pink.
