image positioning in article[edit]

I haven't really worked with images much, and I'm having trouble finding a way to make the image at Date Harumune align on the right side of the page. Everything I try ends up looking inexplicably ugly, as I feel it stands now. Any advice is much appreciated! Gabriel syme (talk) 01:54, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your mistake was using a capital T in thumb. Having corrected this, the image now aligns to the right by default. I also added a caption to the image by translating the text on in the file description, like this:

Note that I removed the image size per MOS:IMAGESIZE. Also note that the translation came out with the name as "Date Harujo", not "Date Harumune", and I'm not sure which is correct, though I opted for the latter. nagualdesign 03:15, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Displaying code[edit]

Is there a simpler way to display wikicode than using <nowiki><code> ... </code></nowiki>? I've been using it a lot recently and it's pretty awkward. nagualdesign 03:25, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The correct order is <code><nowiki> ... </nowiki></code>. I don't know a simpler general way but it only takes seconds for me. Below the edit box I have a drop-down menu where I can choose "Wiki markup". Then <code></code> or <nowiki></nowiki> can be inserted with a click. The fastest way is to first click <code></code>, then <nowiki></nowiki>, and then write the wikicode in the middle. PrimeHunter (talk) 16:38, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, I just wrote that wrongly; it's actually enclosed in tags that are in the correct order. I do use the links below the edit box, and if I remember to do the two clicks first, then fill out the middle bit, it isn't a problem. It's the wrapping of already typed code that frustrates me, which involves carefully highlighting the text. I guess I'll just have to remember not to put the cart before the horse. Woohoo! Thank you very much for the link. Digging a little deeper I used the information here to edit User:Nagualdesign/common.js so that I can add {{u|...}}, {{ping|...}} and <code><nowiki>...</nowiki></code>, each with a single click! Help Nominating and Article for deletion.[edit]

I've nominated the Eating Tide PODS page for deletion, and while I think it's an uncontroversial deletion, I think I've made some errors in the process. It's my first time attempting to do so, and the instructions for nominating an article seem geared towards more advance users. Could someone offer me a hand, either through instructions or otherwise fixing any mistakes I've made? @WidowXTracer2Cute: You need to start the deletion discussion page. Go to the article page and click on the red link, (this article's entry). Before you do that you will see a pre-formatted template to begin the page, (point 2 within the AfD notice). Start the deletion discussion with that. The category will be 'W' and the text will be your reasons for proposing. Preview, check and save. Please sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). Thank you. Several irrelevant and communal provocative changes made.[edit]

Hello,

The information on Wikipedia describing the incidence of Bhima Koregaon, url https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koregaon_Bhima , has undergone several changes during the period of 25-12-2017 to the date i.e. 05-01-2018.

The information on this page was nearly accurate and have been changed by an intention of causing communal problems in India. The information holds social and communal sensitivity in the region and is considered holy by many castes. On 01-01-2018 an unpleasant incidence took place in Bhima koregaon where the said Victory oblisk is present in honour of the battle fought on 01-01-1818, this incidence had lead to communal riots and social disturbance all over the country. The changes that are made recently will prove provocating and will worsen the situation still further.

Kindly take note of the following changes and revert them to their original state, also kindly review the changes on the said page henceforth. If not fulfilled we will be left with no option but to file a case in the court on the basis of misleading and self editing the said history and causing communal disturbance and rift in India.

Auto Archive - Cluebot III[edit]

Hi, I'm sorry to have to ask for help with this, but I've been attempting to get this fixed myself, and it's not been going well.

I have been using ClueBot III to archive my talk page per month, as I feel like this would be a suitable amount of time for a talk page archive. I was pointed here for help. Here's the code I'm using:

{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis |archiveprefix=User talk:Lee Vilenski/Archives/ |format=Y/F |age=360 |archivebox=yes |box-advert=yes |index=yes }}

However, the indicies page is displaying like this, and the archive box is displaying the whole link to the archive, rather than just the "2017/October" part.

The hours part that ClueBot uses always confuses me but if you want it to run once a month then the age should be set to 730 hours, not 360 (360 would be 15 days). I'm trying to tease out the issue but I usually use the MiszaBots/Lowercase sigmabot III archiving so not sure if I can figure out what isn't working - but wanted you to know that someone is trying... (edit conflict)One thing I have come across is your issue does not seem to be isolated. I looked up User:ClueBot III/Detailed Indices/User talk: with just the account name and every single one has red links to pages that don't exist... some examples:

I also have no idea why. The "master detailed index" is a page which transcludes archive pages from deeper in the file structure, for example User:ClueBot III/Detailed Indices/User talk:Ivanvector/Archive 3, but it seems to have stopped making the pages with the index tables some time last year. It still updates the master indices with links to the nonexistent tables, which is why mine looks fine up to the end of "archive 3" but then shows redlinks to the next five pages that it never created. I've tried to report the issue a few times (in December 2016 and again in June 2017) but my reports always get archived with no response, so I concluded that it just doesn't work and gave up trying. Cite error[edit]

Hi all - I've made some edits to George Macdonald (archaeologist) and am having difficulty unpicking a cite error. I'm getting the message "Cite error: The named reference Russell was invoked but never defined", and can't see where I've gone wrong. Any advice welcome. Thanks.
