The Seal of Arkansas, as depicted in the 1876 book The State Arms of the Union. Adopted in 1864, it contains the Angel of Mercy, the Sword of Justice and the Goddess of Liberty, as well as a bald eagle with a bundle of arrows in one claw and an olive branch in the other; a scroll at the bottom is inscribed Regnant Populi.
