(As of October 15, 2016)
Note: The number of chapter events grew approximately 3-fold in 2015.

Event types[edit]

  • Monthly WikiWednesday Salons:
A monthly community-focused event where we gather for a mini-unconference at Babycastles, our regular location since late 2014. Event is held with a wider scope of participation and discussion than traditional Wikipedia meetups. Has evolved from bimonthly and other occasional salons in 2007 to current iteration.
  • Editathons:
A mainstay outreach event of Wikimedia NYC. Typically: one monthly editathon at MoMA, one monthly edtiathon held by AfroCROWD, and usually a couple of additional editathons with other partner institutions each month.
  • Education outreach: Sometimes includes Wiki Education Foundation a/k/a Wiki Ed
NY-NJ classes @ Wiki Education Foundation Dashboard
