Wikipedia is the most used reference site in the world but only roughly 12% of its editors are female. Coverage of female scientists, poets, engineers, and other careers is seriously lacking.
Celebrate UNL's Women's Week with us by becoming a Wikipedia editor. We welcome students of all identities to contribute to the coverage of women on the website. Our four stations cover the entire writing process: Choosing a topic, researching, writing and editing, and (of course) celebrating! For each article that is create or substantially added to, Aspen Lincoln will donate $5 to a charity that empowers women.
Join us on March 15 for snacks, Dunkin Donuts, swag, a photo booth, and Sit With Me photos.
Sponsors: UNL Women's Center, UNL Libraries, Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management, Aspen Lincoln, Hudl, Computing for All, BuluBox, UNL English Department, UNL History Department, Center for Digital Research in the Humanities, Information and Technology Services; event also sponsored in part by a grant from the Pepsi Endowment Fund
Give back! Don't forget that every completed submission raises $5 for Lincoln's YWCA SMART Girls Club! Big shout out to Aspen Lincoln for sponsoring the donations
