  1. Why do you want to be a Wikipedia Ambassador?
In a nutshell: Students, from my own personal experience, would probably make for the most enthusiastic Wikipedians. They are active in the pursuit of knowledge and, if persuaded well, would see Wikipedia's message in that same light. I'd like to help their integration into the community with the least amount of trouble.
  2. In three sentences or less, summarize your involvement with Wikimedia projects.
I'm an active of more than 4 years on en.wiki. My work focuses on under represented areas in the Middle East (Syria and the Ancient Near East in particular)
  3. Please indicate a few articles to which you have made significant content contributions. (e.g. DYK, GA, FA, major revisions/expansions/copyedits).
I helped bring Latakia and Homs to GA. I have 98 DYK credits (mostly new articles).
  4. How have you been involved with welcoming and helping new users on Wikipedia?
I have been, though sporadically. When I notice, on my watchlist, a new editor trying to be bold and trying to improve articles in good faith, I've tried to help them avoid issues that might arise from their inexperience.
  5. Have you had major conflicts with other editors? Blocks or bans? Involvement in arbitration? Feel free to offer context, if necessary.
    Not really.
  6. How often do you edit Wikipedia and check in on ongoing discussions? Will you be available regularly for at least two hours per week, in your role as a mentor?
    Daily.
  7. How would you make sure your students were not violating copyright laws?
I think a detailed explanation of the issue followed up with notes on specific cases might suffice.
  8. If one of your students had an issue with copyright violation how would resolve it?
First, I would remove the copyvio, and then I would try to explain in as much detail why it was removed and how to avoid that situation again.
  9. In your _own_ words describe what copyright violation is.
Using someone else's creative writing/structures without proper attribution.
  10. What else should we know about you that is relevant to being a Wikipedia Ambassador?
    I'm a student myself?
