Ilaiyaraaja[edit]

Brief overview (please read this before commenting)[edit]

This is a music Wiki article. It deals with a human subject (it is a biography): it is about a prominent film music composer. This article appears sound in structure - it is delineated into appropriate sections that include a introduction, information about the subject's early life, information about the subject's career and details of his musical style. The article also contains sections that provide a list of awards, a discography and an appropriate number of relevant external links.

This article is rigorously referenced. Sources of reference include academic journals and a thesis, and published books/book chapters. It contains a considerable number of Wiki-links within it. A fair number of articles link to it. The article is listed under eight Wiki categories (see bottom of article page).

Type of comments/contributions requested[edit]

1. Proof-reading to ensure grammar and structure are sound. Comments on the content of the article (is it thorough enough, what other aspects of the life of the subject of this biography could be included, etc.)

2. Comments on ways in which article could be modified to meet Feature Article requirements.

3. A rating for this article.

4. Perhaps desirable would be the inclusion of a section that contains selected sound clips of the subject's music (as found in, e.g., Michael Jackson). If such a section is attempted, then technical help in converting full-length mp3 files (which can be supplied) into 30-second .ogg sample clips (with fade in and fade out) will be required.

  • I took the liberty of making few changes directly on the article. By the way, where is the article history. Only one day is seen. What happened. Is the old history preserved elsewhere  Doctor Bruno  01:01, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • 1. I think that the Career and Music section could do with being divided up into a few subsections. It's well written and referenced, but this is a bit long for one section compared to most articles. More images too, how about some of the posters of films he has done the soundtracks for?
