Administrator instructions

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.
"WP:RFU" redirects here. For requests for unblock, see Category:Requests for unblock. For requests for unprotection, see Wikipedia:Requests for page protection § Current requests for reduction in protection level.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied, restored as a draft or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that articles deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7, G5 or G11 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Draft: Paint (musical group)[edit]

I, Jeepster33, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Jeepster33 (talk) 20:25, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

  • @Jeepster33: This was restored last year without any improvements on the page. What do you plan to do this time if it is restored? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:20, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

I have a revised version to post — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeepster33 (talkcontribs) 11:38, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

@Jeepster33: Yes check.svg Done, I have restored it. If it isn't worked on, it will be deleted again in a few months, likely permanently. ~Anachronist (talk) 06:10, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Eyeden[edit]

Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Save page" button below —Boby3362 (talk) 11:58, 19 February 2017 (UTC) Eyeden was created by me I had all the reliable sources and reasons creating this article but user User:C.fred has deleted this article for giving me no reason what so ever and was keep making different excuses I suppose this Wikipedia user was reported by other users as well, he was being very offensive to my created article and I was putting so much hard work into it very disappointed I need it back.

X mark.svg Not done That article was created by Mastereditor2239, a sockpuppet of a blocked user. If that's you, and you want to participate here, you should get your original account User:Shingling334 unblocked first. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:39, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Save page" button below —Boby3362 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 13:19, 20 February 2017 (UTC) Those are my accounts but I cannot log in to those accounts anymore I have to use this one because user c.fred has blocked it forever and there is not an expiry date I have to use this one from now on to create and edit articles.

@Boby3362: Excuse me? You were using the Mastereditor2239 account just 4 days ago! You can certainly log in there, and post an unblock request on the talk page. You must not evade your block, you must deal with it instead. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:16, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Smash David[edit]

This article was just deleted because of a dispute with other editors a few months ago, but this article should be reconsidered now since Smash David accomplished much more now, with a single he produced for Big Sean, Bounce Back, which his Sean's highest charting single in the US at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and certified Gold by the RIAA, and another single for Khalid, Location, which is at number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100, so clearly this article has passed WP:NMUSIC, so it should be undeleted. —Bloomdoom2 (talk) 00:58, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

  • X mark.svg Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Smash David, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Jujutacular (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
  • They're not active on here, so I'm going to ping Jujutacular. I also have to caution you - producing isn't always a guarantee of notability, as a song or album can have a great many producers. Since one of those two songs were already on the article at the prior AfD, you'll really need to give them a lot of good sourcing to justify inclusion. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
  • I don't see that the concerns at AFD have been met. I would recommend another discussion if undeletion is still desired. Jujutacular (talk) 20:24, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Draft:Lolla Tek[edit]

I, Lollatek, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Lollatek (talk) 07:40, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

  • Lollatek, there's nothing to restore as the submission was blank. You can still make a new submission at that location though, so no worries. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:21, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
  • I do want to caution you about making an autobiography and about the notability guidelines for performers, which is admittedly strict. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:22, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Draft:Emtec[edit]

I, Devers9, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Devers9 (talk) 11:11, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Would like to add more links to address issues highlighted earlier. —Devers9 (talk) 11:13, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

  • Yes check.svg Done - as an Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13, the page has been restored on request. Please edit the page to address any issues raised, and re-submit it; "Articles for creation" is not for the indefinite hosting of material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:18, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Katharine Towne[edit]

The page was deleted after fifteen years, citing a lack of relevance, however I feel that the subject has enough relevance to warrant inclusion. She hasthree dozen listed credits on IMDB,[1] many of which are starring or featured roles, all of which are verified, and is still listed in the Top 5000 on the IMDB Starmeter. In addition, the cultural/historical significance of her family bolsters that the page is a valid resource for the entertainment industry.

She is linked/referenced on the following pages:

Julie Payne (mother)[2] Robert Towne (father)[3] Charlie Hunnam (divorced)[4]

She's also linked to many acting credits on Wikipedia.

I tried contacting the admin who deleted the page, but received no response. Thank you for your time and consideration. —Chrisfullerton1974 (talk) 21:05, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

References

  • We don't count IMDB or Wikipedia as reliable sources, but they can suggest that there would be more information. Can you find some actual web sites, magazines or newspapers that have an article on this person? We need more information than just a one line mention of an acting credit to be substantial. The deleting admin looks not to be very active. But if there are better references available then I would make this a draft for you to work on. Otherwise if everything in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Katharine Towne is correct, there are no substantial, independent, reliable sources. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:33, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Here are some additional sources on the subject, interviews, reviews, etc:

Hollywood.com [1] YourTango.com [2] Buffy Wiki [3] Rotten Tomatoes [4] Variety [5] LA Times [6] BuddyTV.com [7] Additional scans of articles about the subject: [8][9][10] Chrisfullerton1974 (talk) 23:55, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

X mark.svg Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Katharine Towne, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Daniel (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. ~Anachronist (talk) 01:18, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
I'll add that other wikis, directory listings, directory profiles (e.g. Rotten Tomatoes), interviews, and trivial mentions don't count toward notability either. There must be significant coverage of the person (not a few sentences) by multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Additionally she must meet the requirements in WP:NACTOR to be considered for inclusion on Wikipedia. ~Anachronist (talk) 01:22, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Since you didn't bother to read any of the previous things written here, I'll go ahead and summarize:

I tried contacting "Daniel" and he didn't respond. The original editor who replied to my post here said he's been inactive, so let's go ahead and mar that one off the list.

Second, the Notability requirement says "Actors, voice actors, comedians, opinion makers, models, and celebrities: Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions.", however, you don't take into account movie or television credits, via verifiable sources, such as IMDB, which is pretty much the standard reference for film and television credits. What is it you're looking to be proven? That she was in the things IMDB lists? That she has a fan base? She's Top 5000 on IMDB, so clearly there are a fair amount of people interested in her.

I've always been a champion of Wikipedia, but now I understand the complaints I've heard. Chrisfullerton1974 (talk) 04:14, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

IMDb is actually not a reliable source by our standards because it's a wiki, and thus (a) subject to radical change at any point and (b ) lacks professional editorial oversight and factchecking. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 09:29, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
@Chrisfullerton1974: Since you didn't fully comprehend my earlier response, I'll summarize: Your early block of sources above (IMDB and Wikipedia) are not acceptable for establishing notability. Your second block of sources are unconvincing, because they consist of trivial mentions, directory listing blurbs, coverage of a show but not the actress, and interviews, none of which constitute significant coverage of the subject. And merely having "credits" in numerous shows doesn't count, we need significant roles. The deleted article contains an unsourced claim that she won an Oscar! If you had a reliable source for that, we could reconsider.
So again, X mark.svg Not done. You are free to take this to Wikipedia:Deletion review to get a consensus on whether the deletion was improper, or you can start a new article, preferably not in main space but in draft space (if you do it in main space it would be speedily deleted per WP:G4). Nothing is preventing you from creating a new article. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:34, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
  • Also just in case they contest this here again - this is the wrong avenue for this, as it went to AfD. If the deleting admin declines or doesn't respond then the only place to take this is deletion review. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:52, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
  • On the Oscar, it looks like the article was referring to her father, who won the Oscar. Something to note is that notability is WP:NOTINHERITED by being the child of notable people and it's not always inherited by being part of a notable TV series or film - the only time that would give someone notability is if their role is major enough to get noted in coverage of the film/series. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:54, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Aika Tappaa[edit]

Inappropriate G4 deletion. Following a controversial AFD close based on the number and quality of sources, the text was userfied; substantive improvements were made, including the addition of apparently reliable sources, and the text moved back to mainspace. Then it was G4'd at the request of the AFD closer, who has also stated that the article cannot be restored except through DRV (which is also pending). The texts were not substantially identical; whether or not the new sourcing is sufficient is to be determined by standard deletion process, not administrator fiat. —21:52, 21 February 2017 (UTC)The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). Treated like dirt by many administrators since 2006. (talk)

@Hullaballoo Wolfowitz: The admin who G4-deleted the page restored it 15 minutes later. There were a handful edits in the deleted history, so I just restored those. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:07, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Draft:SlipSafe[edit]

I, Eva1403, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Eva1403 (talk) 10:06, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

  • Eva1403, it looks like you requested that this be restored back in April 2016, but made no edits to the page. There was also some concern that the content was far too promotional to be accepted, which is likely due to the fact that the draft heavily relied on content used elsewhere on the Internet. The reason I'm mentioning this is that it might be better for you to just start a whole new article from scratch in your own words, as this might make it less likely to be promotional. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:58, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Protegent Antivirus[edit]

I accidentally saved the blank page when I was practising it in sandbox. I will add some content to it. —Harshitgpt89 (talk) 10:50, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

X mark.svg Not done. @Harshitgpt89: you weren't working in a sandbox, you were doing this in main article space. Please don't do that. Create the article in draft space (like Draft:Protegant Antivirus) or in your sandbox, and submit it to WP:AFC for review. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:19, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

I will keep it in mind and will do in the draft space. Thanks--Harshitgpt89 (talk) 06:08, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Portal:Business and Economics[edit]

Per this redirect's history, there may be some revisions prior to the page's creation that should be restored. —Steel1943 (talk) 21:36, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

@Steel1943: The deleted contribution history of that page is empty. There is nothing to restore. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:28, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
@Anachronist: Odd, considering that the redirect's deletion log hinted otherwise. Well, I suppose if nothing can be found, feel free to close this request. Steel1943 (talk) 22:30, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
@Steel1943: I checked Portal:Business and economics (lowercase) also, and there are no deleted contributions there either. It looks like the page with the title case got moved to the new title with all contributions intact.
So, X mark.svg Not done because there's nothing else to do. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:32, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

I need to continue working on this. Became so disheartened and confused by the rejections that I gave up for a while. I need to get back to it and hope someone can help me with more specific instructions.

Wiki instructions are confusing. The instruction above says to 'click the Save page' button below.' There is a 'Save Changes' button but no 'Save page' button.

Tana Wollen

@Tana Wollen: I have restored the draft. It looks like a reasonably good start to me, although I agree with the reviewer that the references need to be improved to demonstrate notability of the subject. Please read Wikipedia:Golden rule to get an overview of what is expected. Note also that interviews are considered Wikipedia:Primary sources and don't count as "coverage" of a subject. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:04, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

X mark.svg Not done. The file description says simply "Photograph by Jerry Bauer, copyright owned by Frank Delaney" and nothing else. This would require permission from the copyright owner before we could restore it. And it is unlikely that Frank Delaney is actually the copyright owner, since he's the subject of the photo, and typically the photographer owns the copyright. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:54, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

My article https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi_Cancion was about a TV program for kids that was a litle bit famous in my country. I´ve seen similar TV programs that have their pages in wikipedia. So I decided to create an article about it. I had some reference mistakes so it was deleted after 30 days. This shouldn't be deleted as it is a rapidly growing company and information will be added quite fast as they are expanding and are working with other big companies, this is an online company —Maxwell.mckay (talk) 18:38, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

  • There was not much of a claim of importance. Show that it is notable first by getting independent references before writing. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:21, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Only Sun[edit]

My article about the band Only Sun was tagged for deletion and I was told I would have the chance to make changes to it. Before I could even start to make changes, it was deleted. Myself and the people who wrote the page did not even get a chance to start making appropriate changes to the article and given the chance would do them. We were in the process of gathering references when the page was deleted. I don't believe the reason it was deleted in the first place was fair and then not being able to even make changes, doesn't seem particularly fair either. —Vicksmithh (talk) 18:57, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Programming_in_the_large_and_programming_in_the_small[edit]

This article was deleted for the following reason: "Expired PROD, concern was: single-sourced neologism largely sustained through wikipedia itself." However, a Google search for the article title returns several references to peer-reviewed Computer Science journals that use the term. Therefore, it seems that the concern about this article is Template:Refimprove. —CheeseInPosition (talk) 19:42, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Requesting to restore the aforementioned files. It seems like all these files comply with the criteria. Their captions had sufficient information to justify a sample and there were no copyright problems.--Shane Cyrus (talk) 12:12, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Logic Financial Consultants[edit]

I wish to make changes, and include possible sources to verify the existent and information given about the company. —Gwhitby26 (talk) 13:45, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

  • The purpose of Wikipedia is not to promote companies. If there are independent sources, perhaps you could start again at Draft:Logic Financial Consultants. There also needs to be a claim of importance, and I see none in the deleted page, so if it was restored it could be deleted under A7 as well. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:49, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

I know I did not provide enough information last time but I was out of the country. Please undelete and let me prove and show why it is important for this page to be on Wikipedia! I have multiple contributors this time and am ready to provide much much more information this time. Also I am now much more similar with the WIKI guidelines so we should not have a problem this time. —Smengi94 (talk) 18:04, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done Smengi94, the page was deleted through our Proposed Deletion process, and if someone asks for a proposed deletion to be undone, it's virtually always granted, so it's now visible again. Please add the improvements that you're talking about; undeleted pages can still be deleted through a deletion discussion, and if you don't improve it, you run the risk of someone trying to get it deleted that way. Hello, person using IP address 2600:8807:A60A:400:F960:B465:1637:E5B8. Unfortunately, I can't help you yet, because I'm not sure what page you're talking about? Could you give us the precise name of the page that was deleted? Even a little difference in the title, such as a single letter being capitalized differently, will keep the page from showing up. I checked T-ball History, but it's never existed; Claude Lewis was deleted, but that was in 2005 (the entire contents were Mayor of Carlsbad, California, not something related to T-ball), and your log of deleted contributions has nothing in it. It looks like they're referring to this edit on the Tee-ball article, where someone removed content to center on just one person as an inventor. I have to caution the IP address that there is no WP:OWNERSHIP of the article and people can edit it at any point in time, however that said the listing of the various inventing claims seems to be at least partially justified since it's only a small group that is cited and the information doesn't favor one person over the other. I wanted this page restored again because I believe it was again unfairly deleted.
