Pokemon Gold and Silver

[edit]

Hi, I was just looking at the article for it and I was surprised to find that the internal battery runs out after 6 years! Well, I've had my game cartridge for >6 years--what do I do? I have so many valuables in it: a #151 Mew, lvl 100 Zapdos, all three starters in their final forms...

WHAT DO I DO!? And how do I make an interrobang?--JDitto 03:46, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you go to [1], you can see how to solder in a new battery once the original has run out. However, I don't believe you'll be able to keep your saved data. -- Chairman S. Talk Contribs 04:32, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
NOOO!!!eleven!!!!!!one!!! --JDitto 05:38, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you could always find yourself a Nintendo 64, a copy of Pokemon Stadium 2, and a transfer pak, to save your characters and transfer them back to the game after a battery replacement. But if you love the game that much, surely you'll enjoy getting to play through it all again? Spiral Wave 10:52, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
...Or a second Game Boy, a second copy of the game (with replaced battery), and just swap the pokemon across? Spiral Wave 21:17, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, guys. I don't have an N64, but I have a GBC (Game Boy Color) and the old GBA (Game Boy Advance). My new link cable says that it works for both GBC and GBA when I bought it, but it turns out that both Game Boys need to be EITHER GBC or GBA...anyways, I'm just ranting. I guess I'll find some guy with a working link cable or N64 transfer pack during class. Thanks for the help, I was really panicking there! And I still don't know how to make an interrobang on Wikipedia...
NO, Spiral Wave, even starting over will not bring me back my Mew or my Zapdos. I only got them through trades with two good friends of mine, but one broke his Red Version, and the other I lost contact with. --JDitto 05:56, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mm, I thought that might be the problem. Are you sure you can't connect the GBC/GBA? There are cables to do such things, e.g. [2], or the official one. Failing that, GBC's sell for a pittance on ebay these days (cheaper than the battery replacement!), so you could even get a second one just for the swap. Spiral Wave 13:35, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Did you know we have an article on that‽ You can copy and paste from Interrobang#Display. Dave6 talk 01:24, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Movie about people fighting with paint

[edit]

There's a movie I remember hazily from my childhood that I would like to know more about. Unfortunately I don't know the title. There were a number of groups of people (3? One for each primary colour?) each strongly associated with a colour. They traveled in great ship-like things. They had a war, that consisted of splashing paint on one another. Eventually they all ended up brown and the war was over.

I don't think it had any dialogue, which may mean it was meant for an international audience. Possibly it was associated with Expo 86 and possibly it had something to do with Kodak but I may just be making those two things up.

Nobody else remembers this and I need to ensure its existence to support an assertion of sanity. Thanks. moink 05:29, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing that you're referring to Rainbow War? -- Chairman S. Talk Contribs 05:44, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! Thank you. I didn't remember it being so short, but that's the right one. moink 05:51, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who is Don Hunt who composed the 1949 song, "When the Wind Was Green?"

[edit]

I've spent quite a few hours trying to research this person. It's purely a personal interest. He wrote one of the most unique and beautiful songs I've heard (title in the title section of this question), and, as far as I've been able to find, there's nothing about him, his life, birth/death dates, or other songs he may have written in any part of the Web I've looked at.

Music encyclopedias, at least the ones I've looked at, have nothing about him. Any help you can offer will be sincerely appreciated on this personal quest. It may not be easy. It took me a year of searching to find a chart of the music for his (only, as far as I know) 1949 song, sung on Sinatra's 1965 album, "September of My Years," "When the Wind Was Green."

Citation Needed

[edit]

You can add it to the page, yourself, but where could I find a direct source about Tower Record's first time going bankrupt? A good friend of mine is doing an essay on illegal downloading of music and she needed a citation outside of Wikipedia on the damage done to the company due to internet piracy. --208.127.64.231 05:48, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Have a look at these two links: [3], [4]. -- Chairman S. Talk Contribs 06:00, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Desktop Widget for Daily Feature Picture?

[edit]

Is there a windows widget available to show and update the daily feature picture from the Wikipedia home page on my PC desktop?

Six Feet Under

[edit]

Six Feet Under just came out with a new CD. Are they gonna be going on tour again? --Chimaira666

No mention of a tour on their official website, however most bands will tour a new record, so its probably worth bookmarking that page and checking back frequently. Rockpocket 05:43, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jonathan Davis

[edit]

He's been in a lot of movies before and I dont know the names of any of them. does anyone know? --Chimaira666

See Jonathan Davis and the links from that article. Dismas|(talk) 15:47, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ya I tried that and it only says he's been in movies but it doesnt give you titles. If you cant answer this thaks for trying --Chimaira666

According to Internet Movie DataBase, he did his acting debut in direct-to-video Buttman at Nudes a Poppin' 9. Worth mentioning... =S 惑乱 分からん 16:01, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said, "and the links from that article". Dismas|(talk) 10:57, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
O.K thanks. I'll have to get it.
Oh, well. It was only rated 5.1/10 stars. Besides, I'm not sure if the plot is interesting enough for 140 minutes... =S 惑乱 分からん 16:30, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He did the voice of Lestat in that god-awful film, Queen of the Damned (film). It says he also had a bit part as a scalper, but I have done my best to erase that film from my memory. Proto  15:32, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Korn

[edit]

I'm sure if you listen to Korn youve heard the song Twist. Is he really saying something or is he just messing around? --Chimaira666

Are you referring to the scat version? It is just a play on the normal version of the song. --Kainaw (talk) 16:54, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
From memory, Jon Davis is singing "badda uuuuratta urata dada uratta ratta urata uuuuurata ng ng ng ng ng ng errrrrrrrgh" (dum dum dum) "Twist" (dum dum dumdum) "Twist" (dum dum dum) "Twist" (dum dum dumdum) "Twist". It's the sort of writing that wins people Grammies. Proto  12:47, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That is the scat version. The normal version has easily understood lyrics: "You're not the right one dumb damn rapper..." --Kainaw (talk) 16:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Slipknot "rare" CD.

[edit]

Hi everybody. I'm a big slipknot fan and I have almost every album exept one, "Slipknot". Well I actually have it but I looking for a special version of the album. It is the first pressing with songs like Frail Limb Nursery and Purity. Is this album obtainable and where can it be found???

Thanks for you help.

You could try eBay. I can't find any in the usual online stores. Proto  12:48, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
While there aren't any listed for sale on discogs.com, here is the discogs link for the release you desire. Discogs.com is a surprisingly useful tool for looking up information in rare releases (especially info like the release label and whatnot).--droptone 19:48, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
