VooDoo Blue

Notable music group whose album Smile 'n' Nod and record company DCide both have articles. -67.159.73.84 (talk) 00:35, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. Cheers, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 10:58, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Proactive policing

Article was nominated for deletion for having no content whatsoever. Then deleted for failing to meet unspecified minimum standards and also with a caution against original research. However all content (other than section headers) was referenced from reliable sources. -YouAndMeBabyAintNothingButCamels (talk) 06:25, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Done - the page has been restored to your userspace at User:YouAndMeBabyAintNothingButCamels/Proactive policing.. While there is some content here, it's not close to being ready to be a live article. I'd suggest getting an introduction and a broader world view as a minimum. When you think it's ready, get some feedback at WP:FEED. HTH --Fabrictramp | talk to me 01:07, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Power of Omens

The band Power of Omens satisfies several of the WP:MUSIC guidelines. I do not know why it was deleted. A quick Google search will reveal the band's prominent position among quite a number of online music encyclopedias and webzines, too many to catalog here, and is featured in a number of reviews. The google references are pages and pages deep, which is one indication of a band's popularity, influence and success. Power of Omens is notable for being on the original lineup of ProgPower USA, which has its own Wiki article. Power of Omens is notable as a highly original and influential band in the technical progressive metal style. -66.25.43.43 (talk) 19:33, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Not done There was no claim in the article that the band was at all important, let alone satisfied WP:MUSIC. (The entire article consisted of a list of members, a list of albums, and a link to a myspace page.) I'd suggest you register for a free account and write an article yourself. Cheers! --Fabrictramp | talk to me 01:14, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Meghan Kabir

I don't know what the previous articles said as I didn't create them. Meghan Kabir is a singer/songwriter and lead singer of the band Flashmob, which has recently signed a record deal with Warner Bros. She is thus a notable artist and many articles are available for references. Please allow this page to be edited. REFERENCES: [1] [2] [www.myspace.com/meghankabir] [www.myspace.com/weareflashmob] [3] [4] [5] [6] -Elephantmusic44 (talk) 23:01, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

If you're looking for a page to be unprotected, you need to request that at WP:RPP, not here. Just as some friendly advice, before making the request there, I'd suggest starting a draft at a subpage of your userpage, such as at User:Elephantmusic44/Meghan Kabir. That will give you plenty of time to get a quality article together (WP:FEED can help you with that), and show the folks at WP:RPP that you have something worth unprotecting the page for. University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance

to edit and revise it so that it is more informative and to take out the unambiguous advertising -UHTheatreDance (talk) 20:15, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Not done Large portions, if not all of it, were also copyright violations. And even if permission were granted for use, it would still need a fundamental rewrite. In a nutshell, it's best for someone (not you -- see WP:COI) to start the article over from scratch.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:36, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

AdventureQuest Worlds

I was wondering if AdventureQuest Worlds can be undeleted. It is a good article with some cultural references and I was working on the Darkovia section at the time. I would be pleased if the article can be resurrected. Right now, it was merged with Artix Entertainment. Rtkat3 (talk) 10:42, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, Arbitrarily0. Let the record show also that the original nominating edit by Scythian77 (talk · contribs) appears to have violated the PROD process by using the unclear edit summary "Added tag"; yet this defect was evidently not regarded as disqualifying by deleting editor Nihiltres (talk · contribs). -AHMartin (talk) 14:29, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

infant potty training method

There was no discussion about proposed deletion or other warning about possible deletion, so no one had a chance to present counter-arguments about possible deletion. Moreover, the page is mainly about a book and its contents. Just because the book is about a topic discussed on another Wiki page does not mean the book page should have been deleted. There are many book pages on Wikipedia and there is no reason to remove this particular one. Thirdly, if there are objections to the text, the page needs to be reinstated in order to allow people to edit it. Finally, if there is a problem with the title of the page (infant potty training method), I first attempted to give it the actual title of the book which is "Infant Potty Training" but this title kept getting redirected to the "toilet training" page so it was not possible to create a page for the actual book title. If this would satisfy a Wikipedia requirement and if someone can make it possible to direct "infant potty training" to the book page, please advise how this can be done. -Thirdsecond (talk) 15:37, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

The page isn't deleted, it has just been boldly redirected. You can undo the most recent edit in the spirit of WP:BRD. –xenotalk 16:24, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your quick reply. Could you please explain what you mean by undoing the most recent edit? Does this mean that the original page will reappear? I'd like to start editing my page so as to show that it's about a book and should therefore not be included in another article that discusses the same subject, but not the book. --Thirdsecond (talk) 22:33, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes, if you were to undo the edit, the previous version of the page would appear. Based on what you say, it sounds like you might want to create the article (on the book) at Infant Potty Training (book). Hope this helps, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 23:07, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

IslamTube

Some admins have deleted the page islamtube because it is not significance but it is significance and the reason for this is becase there is NO other like it because it allows users to share videos, audios and images and it is The Worlds first SUNNI sharing site/organization and there is no other sunni site that conatins video, audio, image content and this is related to Ummah channel as it has their tv programs on it as the owners of islamtube work for sky channel 828 ummah channel and terfore put the programes on islamtube for the sunni's and if it is not significance pls provide link to a sunni video sharing site that offers videos, audios and images and they have to be sunni muslims not wahabi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wahhabi here is the wiki link to sunni http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunni_Islam so pls leave this up and please don't delete it as it the only one of its kind and sunni don't have any other option. the only reason it was kept on being re submitted was because i thought it was still at the point of me explaining the reason for not deleateing it i didn't realise that it was already deleted and herfore when i saved the page it re submitted it so it was a mistake and anyways it is has even more content and many good sources so pls help me and let me create the page one more time and this time i will make it so it is perfect i promise pls understand it is my first time and i am not a expert respect to our reply -89.242.30.95 (talk) 23:48, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry; you never saved any such article - this request is the only edit to Wikipedia you've ever made. --Orange Mike | Talk 02:35, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Team Starkid

It was deleted because it was not notable and the sources were unreliable. Their soundtrack clocked in at No. 11 on the national Billboard charts and this was supported by a report from the official Billboard website asserting that it was the first student musical to ever make the charts and might play at the New York Fringe Festival. Their A Very Potter Musical has generated talk and legal issues, backed up by statements from professors of law. Several of the sources were official interviews with Team Starkid but, being in podcast format, might have been considered unreliable. Other sources could be found to replace these, sources that would be more acceptable.
On a side note, A Very Potter Musical is as big as (if not bigger) than Potter Puppet Pals, which enjoys a spotlight on Neil Cicierega's page. (Yes, I do realize this is a faulty analogy.) And although Neil Cicierega's page is much more official and professional-looking, it has had contributors working on it since 2004.
I created a page for the creative team, because (popular as it is) A Very Potter Musical does not fulfill the Wikipedia criteria for notability, but the creative team is notable. Respectfully, Overduejustice (talk) 19:53, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

HOODYWOOD RECORDS

we don't know why the article was deleted nor have we been told why? We did not receive an email, or phone call (Nothing!) The Wikipedia article is a true and accurate account of how my company "Hoodywood Records was started and has been posted for years and we would appreciate if it is restored to its original form.(we have an opinion as to why it was removed and it is as follows) we believe our article was removed maliciously because of the efforts of Mrs Marian Franklin of the "Shaka Franklin Foundation" she was very upset with this article because I Antheiaus Conquest when I was being interviewed about my company gave a true and accurate account of my experience with the "Shaka Franklin Foundation" information which she (Marian Franklin) found objectionable. After discovering that this information made it into the Wikipedia article she was quite upset and has made several demands of me to have it removed and or edited or censured and I have refused. Now, (correct us if we are wrong)but if the Hoodywood Records Wikipedia article was removed as a result of this angry woman's and her Shaka Franklin Foundations efforts and objections, this totally violates and contradicts your policy on neutrality... right? If you need any corroborating documents regarding our company and its history please contact or call we are willing to send you what ever you need including the heated email exchange between Marian Franklin and Myself etc.

Fryrender

Other articles like Maxwell_Render, Indigo_Renderer, Vray, Mental_ray and Kerkythea would have the same problems of violating wikipedia article rules as the article Fryrender, if there is actually a violation. If the other articles about specific render software products are not deleted as well very soon, the consequence must be that the article Fryrender is recovered! Please also see the user talk of GrahamColm and the history and discussions of the article Fryrender. -195.14.217.140 (talk) 15:42, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello, if the Fryrender article is not undeleted, the other articles I mentioned above need to be checked and most probably deleted as well! Everything else would totally be injustice and a shame on the whole wikipedia imho. By the way, I myself included one neutral reference in the Fryrender article as a start, before it was deleted. --Morphosto (talk) 20:24, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Hello, I made the Article which was deleted. In the Comments I wrote, it's "to make a start". My Article was neutral and did nothing else than explain what fryrender is and a list of features. I don't understand how this can be taken as Promotion/Advertising. Nothing else than - for example - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtualdub or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CINEMA_4D.
I understand if an Article needs improvement, but if it's just deleted, there's no chance for working on it. -- Kausalitaet (talk) 20:42, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Unfortunately, according to Wikipedia policy, "blatant examples of advertising masquerading as articles can be speedily deleted", and this is what the article was designated as. I know that the recreated pages of Prisonburg were not improving, that does NOT mean that you can delete it! C'mon, there's lots of pages that aren't this proffessional like the oter ones, and the fact that no one has even heard of Prisonburg yet, but give it a chance! I was removing the prod at the same time it was deleted and accidently recreated the page. This org seems to have alot of awards and a quick google search turns up major newspaper coverage. Really need to be an AFD rather than a prod. mypraize

MyPraize is an established social network with over 140,000 members, and has been around for almost 5 full years. It's been on "The Today Show", and many other media sources. The legitimacy of the site is not questionable. All stats posted were current as of the date posted and verified by me, one of the site's administrators. -HolmesSPH 21:11, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

The article, as originally written, failed to demonstrate the site's notability. Please understand that notability and deletion rules aren't a judgement on the worthiness of the topic; they're a judgement on the quality of the article. A properly written and well-referenced article about the site might very well be kept, and the fact that one version of the article got canned doesn't mean the site can never have an article, either — it just means that this version of the article, as written, wasn't cutting it.
We're not obliged to keep or to undelete a poor-quality article just because one of the site's own administrators comes back after the fact to make unreferenced notability claims that were never in the original article in the first place. But you are always free to work on a new and better version of the article, which makes notability more immediately apparent, if you'd like.
Incidentally, the article was originally tagged for prod by User:NawlinWiki, not by me; I just deleted the article after the prod notice expired. Bearcat (talk) 21:47, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for responding. I will rewrite, and also add in reference to any media sources of notability. (talk) 12:06, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

I understand if a separate page is not suitable, but I want to merge the page with the "Phil Cornwell" page (he is the star of the podcast). Swissôtel Sydney

Originally this page was deleted for reasons that it was an advertising page. This was a page that would serve the function of telling other people about the hotel and where it is. it only stated general information that i thought people would like to know about the hotel. please undelete this page, it does not serve the purpose of advetrtising in any means it is purley a reference for other people like me that want to know information about this hotel. thank you -68marketstreet (talk) 04:44, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

I can't see the unambiguous advertising in the article, but G11 isn't something we unilaterally restore here. Your best bet is to drop a note to the deleting admin, Nick-D (talk · contribs), and ask for clarification and a possible restore. If you can't make any headway there, you can take it to deletion review, but make sure you talk to Nick-D first. HTH--Fabrictramp | talk to me 13:30, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
I've responded to this editor on my talk page declining this request on the grounds that the only reason they want to create the article is to promote it (their stated reason for wanting the article was "this page was built with no advertising intention at all, it was simply a page that told people like myself about the hotel and where it is and what it has to offer" - which is pretty much what an ad is). As their user name is also the hotel's street address (see here) the conflict of interest is pretty obvious and I've blocked them. Nick-D (talk) 09:32, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
I've since received an email from 68marketstreet (talk · contribs) asking to be unblocked. Their email address leaves no doubt that this is a marketing exercise. Nick-D (talk) 11:42, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

videotage

the name of the organization 'videotage' has appeared on the page of 'video art' under the section of 'List of video art organizations'. I intended to add a page of 'videotage' to provide more information about this only video art organization in hong kong, asia. However, the page got deleted, and even being removed from the page 'video art'. While Videotage is a significant organization that runs the archive of hong kong video art over the last 20 years, I could not comprehend why other organizations such as video data bank, V tape from Canada or Perpetual Art Machine from NY are allowed to have a page of its own but not videotage. I concern that this is because wikipedia only acknowledges those organizations that are well known all over the world, but ignore the significance of asian organizations that could be crucial to the development of video art. I hence am hereby requesting the undeletion of the page 'videotage' and also requesting wikipedia to restore videotage's entry on the page 'video art' under the section 'List of video art organizations'. I hope there is a reasonable treatment on this issue. Thank you. -Alvischoi (talk) 15:07, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Not done The Wikipedia community is a set of volunteers who are entitled to, and do, set their own standards for what subjects to allow in the encyclopedia. The standards they have chosen are explained at WP:Notability and WP:Notability (people), and the reasons why you should not write about yourself at WP:Autobiography. Having written a blog does not make you notable, your human rights have absolutely nothing to do with it, and attacking other editors will not help. JohnCD (talk) 22:03, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

The standards are not legally binding, the entitlement to delete is not legally binding. You need to provide a more adequate reason for my page to be deleted, also it is not an autobiography so get you facts straight.Do you know human rights law, if you did you would know that freedom of speech is one of them, what was stated in the page comes under that freedom of speech. 9/11 Truth Movement

Seeing as Dr. Judy Wood is the only person to have filed her evidence with the courts in pursuit of truth and justice, and also considering that one of her court cases made it all the way to the Supreme Court, I think it is fairly obvious that the following information needs to be included in the 9/11 Truth Movement Wikipedia Page:

1. I think that Dr. Judy Wood's Journal of 9/11 Research & 9/11 Issues needs to be included in the external links section alongside the other Journals of 9/11 Research.

2. I also think that her name needs to be included in the Adherents of the 9/11 Truth Movement, especially considering she is the only person to actually take legal action, in addition to scientific research, in pursuit of 9/11 truth.

3. I also think that her legal efforts, especially the Supreme Court case, needs to be included in the History of the 9/11 Truth Movement, as it was the only court-case ever filed in pursuit of 9/11 Truth, and it made it all the way to the Supreme Court.

In 2007, Dr. Judy Wood filed several legal cases against the National Institute of Standards & Technology's (NIST) contractors for science fraud, and legal requests that NIST’s fraudulent data gets reexamined[1]. The filings in these legal cases included Requests For Corrections (RFC) based on the Data Quality Act[2], and Qui Tam whistle-blower cases[3]. Dr. Wood is the only 9/11 researcher who has submitted evidence to the courts in pursuit of the truth.

These are obviously supposed to be on this Wikipedia page, so I truly question the motives of those who are deleting this information. Her effort speaks for itself, and this information needs to be included in the 9/11 Truth Movement Wikipedia page for the sake of honesty and accuracy. Please help. Thank you, -Abe '''Abraham Hafiz Rodriguez''' (talk)
