Timeline of the 2010 Pacific hurricane season

On the 2010 Pacific hurricane season main page, there is a big clutter of dates and times that are supposed to be in their own article. Each year, a hurricane season article gets cluttered with dates that delimit the periods in which a system formed, strengthened, weakened, or dissipated. To get rid of the mess and the clutter, we put it all into another article to free up space for the main article for the hurricane season. The users who edit these pages always make sure that that page comes into play when the season gets at least three or more systems, to relive the clutter. We would be very thankful if this page gets restored. -STO12 (talk) 16:27, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

The page is a redirect. Previous discussion is here. If there is consensus to have timelines for all seasons or if this season meets your criteria, all you need is to click on the history tag above, and undo. --Tikiwont (talk) 17:37, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

This has matured significantly since it was deleted, and last month entered the Apache incubator. There is now significant third-party coverage. -Superm401 - Talk 23:49, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Also, there was only one delete vote (not counting the nomination), and even that was hedged. Superm401 - Talk 23:51, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
We have an Incubator too. Shall I move it there or to your user space? --Tikiwont (talk) 19:52, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
I think it would be reasonable to simply undelete it. The Apache Incubator is not the only sign of notability. However, I'm fine with your user space proposal. I will undelete it, move it to my userspace, clean up and update it, then move it back to the main namespace. I don't expect to leave it in user space for long. Superm401 - Talk 01:15, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Ronnie Radke is now significant enough to have a wiki article and is semi-famous in the music industry. The article was originally removed due to unsignificance of the character at that time. Please reconsider this deletion, thanks. -Miss.ravenflame (talk) 05:54, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

the copyright infringement from a different page is not correct, because i wrote the article in the third party site as well. So, i believe that erasing teh page is a MISTAKE, since there is NO copyright infringement at all thus i want to request to undelete the page. Best regards -Aglaia (talk) 10:14, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Not done. I presume you mean 3rd world (movie), and that you are perhaps the same person as user Annabilimic (talk). (If so, please choose one account and use only that one, to avoid any suspicion of "sockpuppetry").
We can't accept previously published material on the basis that someone on the end of a wire says they wrote it. See WP:Donating copyrighted materials for how to make a copyright release, though that is seldom worth doing because material written for other purposes is not often suitable for an encyclopedia article.
In any case, this article was deleted as a result of a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/3rd World (movie), so it cannot be undeleted here. (Annabilimic as the article author was notified of the discussion on her talk page). Read Wikipedia:Notability (films) to understand Wikipedia's inclusion criteria; then, if you consider the discussion was wrongly decided, or you have new information, you should approach user ItsZippy (talk), the administrator who closed the discussion. Then, if your concerns are not addressed, you can go to WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 12:15, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Tonga National Tag Team

Article deleted as CSD A7 with a summary "tag20 rugby does not appear to be a notable sport" but CSD A7 applies only to persons, groups of people and web content, not to sports. -jfd34 (talk) 06:49, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Not done A team is a "group of people". They're a group of people who play a sport. A7 is a valid CSD for such a group of people. The article is not about "tag20" the variant of a sport, it's about a national team that plays it (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:13, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

reasoning -Sipooti 10:09, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Please republish my article regarding Tonga National Tag Team. It is a notable subject. Reasons given to me for deletion were Tag20 is not a sport and the article is about a club?

1. Tag20 Rugby IS A variation and a notable sport of Tag. It is played in Australia, England and New Zealand. Perhaps that person shold do some research. (

2. Secondly and most importantly - this article is about a Nations (Tonga) National Team. There are hundreds of similar or the exact article on Wikipedia.

I still had information and images to be uploaded.

I dont understand how this proceedure works like this that an article can be deleted without review first before doing so. Alot of work goes into writing.

Please republish, I know I have abided within the guidelines. I am new and Im still trying to find things and how to get onto the reference template etc? Some people have here have been great, some not so.

Thank you for your time!!! Sipooti 10:09, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Not done It would appear that just as Twenty20 is a variant of cricket, Tag20 is a variant of rugby. There is no master article about Tag20 - which, if you can prove its notability in more than just Tonga, could be a good place to start. If the sport is not notable enough for an article, then the team that plays it is far less notable. However, I would follow the same pattern as cricket: the national team for West Indies cricket team, for example, lists all formally-recognized variants of the game. Foodservice Consultants Society International - The Americas (FCSI-TA)

To whom it may concern,

Please userfy this page so I may make the edits suggested by Cindamuse and resubmit it for review. Cindamuse asked for the page to be deleted because of one phrase that was used in the Membership description. That phrase: "FCSI-certified consultants possess expertise in all foodservice disciplines..." While this phrase is factual, Cindamuse believes that it is too promotional. I can understand that perspective and am glad to clarify it. However, it is also clear to me that editor Cindamuse does not understand that while membership in FCSI is open to any independent foodservice professional, the ability to achieve certification status in the group (i.e., the ability to add the letters FCSI after your name) is dependent on passing a series of tests that are regulated by the independent, not-for-profit FCSI Educational Foundation. Anyone who has achieved an FCSI certification really is a foodservice expert. This fact is also stated clearly in the description for this page.

Thx. -AuroraPete (talk) 15:58, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Although the article was originally flagged for deletion, I and another user worked to remove and POV controversies after which the article stood normally without the flag. The article was well sourced from the outset and nicely formatted. There was no discussion as to why it was suddenly changed into a link. Additionally, previous candidates who ran for the position have Wikipedia pages i.e. Dan Debicella and even candidates who dropped out of the race i.e. Chris Meek still have pages. Steve Obsitnik is both a public figure and the confirmed challenger Jim Himes for Congress. I hope you consider the validity of an article on him. At least would it be possible to have the text emailed to me?

Thank you for all your help and I hope I didn't mispeak too much with the new jargon of Wikipedia. -William.Sadock (talk) 15:30, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Not done. The article was turned to a redirect as a result of the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Steve Obsitnik. Wikipedia is extremely resistant to being used for any kind of promotion, and by the policy WP:POLITICIAN it is normal practice for articles about unelected candidates to be redirected in this way: this avoids making value judgements about which of the many candidates should have articles, and also avoids edit-warring and vandalism by supporters and opponents. If you wish to challenge the decision you should first approach user Chip123456 (talk · contribs) who closed the deletion discussion, and then if not satisfied you may go to WP:Deletion review. Note that because there are many substandard articles the argument What about that other article? is not accepted - each is considered on its own merits. You can still see and copy the text of the article in the history at this version. JohnCD (talk) 20:12, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Iva Keene

My page about Iva Keene was deleted on the basis of clause A7.

Here is why I believe the subject of Iva Keene is important:

She is one of the world-wide pioneers in her field (Natural Fertility). She has a proven record of helping countless couples overcome fertility problems naturally. Her work has been formally recognized by awards from Mom's Choice and APEX. She is a successful entrepreneur with a public profile in her field.

For the aforementioned reasons I ask you to please reconsider your decision to remove the article. Many thanks. -Arabelasmith (talk) 12:29, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Gatineau Police

This article was deleted because there wasn't anything terribly spectacular about their past. Thing is, the redirect is to Gatineau, in which there is no mention at all about the force. They've been accused of causing a death in a high-speed chase, shot a man, have been criticized over a murder case with no leads, which now they feel may be connected to Luka Magnotta, a recent Canadian murderer featured in an INTERPOL search. I'm sure there's other interesting notes in their history. -Zanimum (talk) 00:41, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Oh, and they defended their choice to shoot a cow. -- Zanimum (talk) 00:42, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
There's no deletion to review here. The AFD in question was closed more then 3 years ago as "redirect" and the history's still intact. Even if it wasn't the entire text of the article was Gatineau Police is the police force of the city of Gatineau, Quebec. If you wish to revert the redirect and expand the article then go for it. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 02:45, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. I've tried to restart an article that was AfD'd before, and being scolded, so I was wanting to make sure that my reasoning at least held up in summary. Should this have been raised on Deletion review? -- Zanimum (talk) 18:20, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
If you're able to be WP:BOLD and make something that doesn't resemble the AFD'd one so that it meets notability, etc, then go ahead and try and create a new one. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 18:23, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

reasoning -CarmeloLisciotto (talk) 15:50, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

My page was marked for deletion? This page is a reference on a Historian and public individual. His history in his field of expertise and his current works as a Holocaust historian are listed. If there is something written that appears promotional, we are happy to make the required edits. However we are not clear as to why the content/page should be marked for deletion?

Is it intended to be an article? It was deleted as a copyright violation. You should see WP:FIRSTARTICLE it it's intended to actually be an article. If it's autobiographical, you have WP:COI. I also see you have recreated it ... (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 17:39, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

This account name is an impersonation of a living person, Carmelo Lisciotto, and has been used to create a "userpage" which was actually an attack page about that person. I have blocked the username as such. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:58, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

I was mistaken. The account does seem to be Lisciotto; the attack page was the product of a persistent vandal. The userpage has been restored and the editor unblocked, with my apologies. --Orange Mike | Talk 02:22, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Gérard Gertoux

I'm surprised by the delete of the page Gérard Gertoux only on two votes and without real debate. Many informations are incorrects :

- First, his book is published in France at the editor account, after validation by a reading committee, and is included in a collection directed by two specialists on religious history and sociology.

- Secondly, his book translated in english is cited in various books. We find some of them on Google books, for exemple in bibliography of The Encyclopedia Of Christianity (Volume 5, page 824). A commentary in the Religious Studies Review (Vol. 29:3, 2003, p. 285) explains the interest of these researchs : « This detailed treatment of the Name is useful for those who are interested in the history of its translation over the centuries[9]. »

- At last, the author has been invited to participate at international conferences with See for exemple the program of an International Conference on the Archaeologie, History and Reception of Persepolis, Edinburgh University, Octobre 14h-16th 2011.

The page about Gérard Gertoux could be supplemented from the french page. DroitTJ (talk) 10:03, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

reasoning - (talk) 14:36, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

One of the reasons this page was deleted as that no one seemed to be able to find any books I have actually written. Please, I know it might not be appropriate for the actual author to reply, but since no one else seems to have even done a search on to see a listing of all my books, I thought I would simply ask that someone at WIKI or a 'reader' just go to, and search my name. I have written 42 books, over 34 DVD's and they are really in print, online and in many books stores. I do not understand why people are allowed to remove my page...after saying they couldn't find any of my books. Just type my name Gambordella on Gooogle, go do Amazon, and you will see them. Is that really so hard? Ted Gambordella

JFA article should be restored

Wikipedia rules notwithstanding, removing an entire article about a notable topic merely due to lack of "independent sources" being cited seems unreasonable. JFA was and is well-known and influential in the punk genre, and I think the deletion of the page is unjustified. - (talk) 01:01, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Nikesh Thapaliya

I don't think this page needs to be deleted. Nikesh is not just a multiple world records holder. If he was only a world record holder, I am sure he wouldn't be qualified to be in Wikipedia. He is also a writer, journalist, activist and has achieved quite a lot at his young age. So, his biography doesn't need to be deleted from Wikipedia. This biography is not just about what world records he has made. In fact, records are only a part off his biography. He has been writer, freelance writer, journalist, activist, UN Volunteer. There are still many pages in Wikipedia which simply exist due to the person's single win in any beauty pageant and even playing role in any one film has automatically given someone a place in Wikipedia. But yes, this article may be improved but not deleted. Thanks! - (talk) 05:08, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Let's not delete this article entirely but it can be improved. I don't think the person has been mentioned in this biography is here because of having those records but like as written in the bio and sources mentioned, he has also been writer, journalist, activist. There are still many poorly written articles on Wikipedia which have been there due to some overnight transformation of an individual. We need to look on that too. Let's not make this one article a subject matter of controversy. User:Gsdan012 -Gsdan012 (talk) 05:50, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Additionally, simply talking about the world records of this person also, these are really worth noting. The mention of these world records here is like mentioning the wins of an athlete and films of an actor. But again, it doesn't seem that the person is here in this biography just for the world records but his other contribution too. Here it seems world records of him are good to be mentioned but not the main part of the article. Wikipedia has no article of any individual just for being solely a world record holder. -Gsdan012 (talk) 06:01, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
