Request for help
Hi, the WikiAfrica and Share Your Knowledge teams are glad to announce that many "African" pictures are being published on Commons, either donated by international institutions or by single photographers. You can help: please see the list of categories here, then you can either add relevant categories to the pictures or place them in relevant articles in your favourite Wikipedia. Contents are mainly about, but not limited to, Senegal, Ethiopia, Mali, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, South Africa. Thanks a lot! --Elitre (talk) 19:41, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, I updated the list, there are many new images waiting for Wikipedia articles to host them. Who's willing to help? --Elitre (talk) 13:52, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
Proposed move of Anglo-African to British in Africa
See Talk:Anglo-African#Proposed move to British in Africa. Helen (talk) 17:30, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
You are invited to participate in Wiki Loves Pride 2014, a campaign to create and improve LGBT-related content at Wikipedia and its sister projects. The campaign will take place throughout the month of June, culminating with a multinational edit-a-thon on June 21. Meetups are being held in some cities, or you can participate remotely. All constructive edits are welcome in order to contribute to Wikipedia's mission of providing quality, accurate information. Articles within Category:LGBT in Africa may be of particular interest. You can also upload LGBT-related images by participating in Wikimedia Commons' LGBT-related photo challenge. You are encouraged to share the results of your work here. Happy editing! --Another Believer (Talk) 01:58, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
Hello everyone! For some time now, I want to create an article about leaders of the opposition of Rhodesia, from introduction of the responsible government in 1923 until the demise of Rhodesia in 1979. Also, that article could contain opposition leaders of Zimbabwe-Rhodesia and Zimbabwe, since 1980 (in the same fashion as List of Speakers of the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe contain parliamentary speakers of all three entities). As you know, all the countries which adopted Westminster-style system at some point in their history have lists of leaders of official opposition (UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, etc), so I want to make a list like that for Rhodesia/Zimbabwe-Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any source online which contain list of Rhodesian opposition leaders. So, I'm asking all of you for help. If anyone knows where to find sources about this, please let me know. Cheers! --Sundostund (talk) 13:36, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
Proposed Creation of Water Supply and Sanitation in Zimbabwe
As part of a class assignment through Rice University's Poverty, Justice and Human Capabilities program, I would like to create a page titled Water Supply and Sanitation in Zimbabwe. This page would provide a history of water supply and sanitation efforts in Zimbabwe, a current overview of the infrastructure and government organizations that deal with water supply and sanitation in Zimbabwe, a list and description of efforts of NGOs and aid branches of foreign governments that are helping to improve water supply and sanitation in Zimbabwe, and a description of current issues and future plans for helping to change water supply and sanitation in Zimbabwe. In addition I will add a section dealing with environmental concerns regarding water supply and sanitation in Zimbabwe and a section about human concerns, which will endeavor to make the connection between the general quality of life in Zimbabwe and the quality and quantity of water supply and sanitation in Zimbabwe. The sources I plan to use for this article include, but are not limited to, UNICEF, Human Rights Watch, African Development Bank Group, and Water Sanitation Program scholarly reports, studies, and factual overviews. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions about what should or should not be included and used for this article.OLucier (talk) 20:08, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject X is live!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.
Killing of Cecil the lion
Bulawayo a province?
Is Bulawayo treated as a province so that there should be a category for it within Category:Populated places in Zimbabwe by province? At present Category:Suburbs of Bulawayo has a redlinked Category:Populated places in Bulawayo: should that exist? (This from stub-sorting the unsourced Pelandaba, created as part of a swathe of self-promotional autobiographical edits by a WP:SPA.) PamD 16:39, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
Zimbabwe First Party
There are new articles on Zimbabwe First Party and its leader Maxwell Zeb Shumba. Currently, these are obviously not neutral, and they need some loving care from people familiar with the situation in Zimbabwe. I am therefore adding both to the scope of your Wikiproject. — Sebastian 07:46, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Zimbabwean Bond Notes
Can someone please create an article titled 'Zimbabwean Bond Notes'?
User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. Would anybody here be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 20:03, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
