Simon Fraser University's History 479 course ("Change, Conflict and Resistance in Twentieth-Century China: Tiananmen Square"), first offered in Fall 2010, created new articles and sections related to the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. One new article, about the April 26 Editorial, was featured on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "On this day..." section on April 26, 2011, April 26, 2013, and April 26, 2017.

The course was offered for a second time in Spring 2014; students uploaded original content in March and April 2014.

The course was offered for a third time in Spring 2016 as 479W (the "W" means "writing intensive"). Students uploaded original content in April 2016.
