Propose merging Template:Mac OS History with Template:Apple Inc. operating systems.
These templates are basically identical with literally no difference in the "Macintosh OS" section. The additional links in the larger "Apple Inc. operating systems" template are not overwhelming and there is no additional information added in "Mac OS History" that is not already present in "Apple Inc. operating systems". Note that there is a related TfD conversation ongoing at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2018 February 23#Template:MacOS derivations where this merge was initially suggested. - Paul^T+/_C 04:29, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merge: The usefulness of a comprehensive Template:Apple Inc. operating systems or a Template:Mac OS History seems questionable to me. I would rather see these broken down more to reduce over-linking. Not too many people are interested in navigating from ProDOS to some version of iOS. That said currently the only navigation we have for Apple II OSes is via Template:Apple Inc. operating systems (which covers too large a topic and causes over-linking in my opinion). 16:21, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
