Nominator's rationale: Follow-up to the LAT precedents (Liechtenstein, Andorra, Transnistria). WP:LEADSIDEBAR and WP:TFD#REASONS #2.

Below is an overview of

  • which redundant culture sidebars should be merged;
  • links from these culture sidebars to articles,
  • how many of these links are redirects (per WP:BRINT it should be zero, but it's often about 50% of the links, or even more),
  • how many articles actually transcluded these culture sidebars with a WP:LINKBACK (by design, and not by accident, per WP:NAV-WITHIN), and
  • which topics navbax these sidebars should be merged into, because the topics navboxes do a far better job (WP:TFD#REASONS #2) at properly linking and transcluding everything without violating WP:LEADSIDEBAR.

Looking at the rationale I would support redirecting all templates, though for now I would hold off on Luxembourg, Gibraltar, Iceland, and Cyprus due to the proportionally small number of redirects (3/20 (15%), 6/31 (19%), 8/28 (29%), and 8/25 (32%), respectively). Notelist are reference list styled with required labels. There are countless local notes in articles that are placed under tables without serving as a reference, but only as explanatory notes of the content of the table. Nevertheless, sample labels (a b c; I II III; or 1 2 3 etc.) would still appear that are not referenced, because a footnote marker was not set. This would limit the editors' options for cases where this is not desired. The appearance of a label in a notelist/reflist without a reference point (footnote marker) would be considered poor design.
