Cyclone Ada was a short-lived but intense tropical cyclone, severely impacting the Whitsunday Region of Queensland, Australia. It formed on January 3, 1970, over the Coral Sea, and was named Ada 11 days later as it moved southwest. By the time it reached the Whitsunday Islands, it had become a Category 3 severe tropical cyclone, allowing it to gain the title of the most damaging storm in the history of the mainland town of Proserpine at the time. It damaged multiple resorts on the islands, and caused 14 deaths. (Full article...)

- Support But would recommend to use the date of impact of January 17, rather than the supposed date of formation of January 3.Jason Rees (talk) 14:22, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- Support - also like idea of Jan 17 - Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 06:35, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- Based on Jason's explanation, I support 17th too --DannyS712 (talk) 06:42, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- Coordinator's comment I note that the storm was named on 15, so that's a possibility too unless anyone objects. Just gives more flexibility if there are multiple suggestions for a date, as there are for Jan 3 (see WP:TFARP) Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:35, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
