Administrator instructions

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied, restored as a draft or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that articles deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7, G4, G5, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Instructions for special cases

Hodge Decision[edit]

I am in the process of creating this article for a school project through wikiedu —Leidelar78 (talk) 15:35, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Note: Surely you jest! No page's ever existed under that title (or any reasonable permutation of it) in any reasonable namespace! Are you sure that the page's title is correct? I see no evidence such a page has ever existed (if a page once existed on a given title, the page's deletion log will be displayed). This page is for requesting the un-deletion of a page, not for asking if it's kosher to make a page at that title; if there is indeed a deleted page you will need to provide the exact title (capitalisation and all; titles are case-sensitive) of the page you wish undeleted. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 01:58, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Bizarrely enough, an "article" by that name did exist; but all it consisted of, was a "bibliography" which in turn consisted of a single footnote to a Daily Kos item. Leidelar: create and use a sandbox until you've actually got some content. --Orange Mike | Talk 03:18, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Under what title? I didn't see any deletion logs under any valid permutation of the title, including adding a "The" to the beginning of it and lowercasing "decision". —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 09:33, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Talk:Hodge Decision and Draft Talk:Hodge Decision. --Orange Mike | Talk 23:42, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
That would explain why I didn't find them; I didn't think to look at the talk pages (though in my defence, such pages are generally deleted if attached to a nonexistent article/draft). —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 00:24, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

WikkaWiki[edit]

The authors were never given an opportunity or notice about updating the article with primary resources. Numerous primary resources (mostly scholarly papers) have been published that refer to WikkaWiki. We would like the opportunity to update the page with these references just as other "notable" wiki pages have been given the same opportunity. —Brianko (talk) 03:14, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Note: The page was deleted as a result of a deletion debate. Admins will not undelete pages that were deleted with discussion here; go to WP:Deletion review or contact the administrator that closed the deletion debate instead.
Also: what is your connection with the publishers of this program? You don't seem to edit articles about any other topic. --Orange Mike | Talk 03:27, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

I didn't see any debate in the talk section, just a decision by a single admin to remove the article. I'm the main developer on the project; I've been involved since early 2000's and currently host the project on github. You'll find that I've updated the page with updates on various occasions over the years. Brianko (talk) 03:36, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Please have the decency to wait until somebody without a paid connection to this company decides to create an article about it. judkins middle school[edit]

My page was just deleted and I dont know why? I was making a wiki page for my school and I requested on someone's page who declined the request to make it a page on what I should change to fix it and I just logged back in and it has been deleted. Note: The page isn't deleted, therefore there's no reason to undelete it. Please follow the instructions on the deletion tag in order to contest (if a speedy deletion or prod/stickyprod) or argue against (if a deletion debate) deletion. The page was redirected, not deleted; all edits remain visible in the article history. Deletion zeroes out the revision history. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 21:41, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Doug Imbruce[edit]

The inventor and entrepreneur is notable, having won over a dozen "highest level" awards in the tech community (Webby's, Apple's "Best of", Time Magazine's "Best Startup CEOs", Business Insider's "Top 100 inventors in Silicon Valley", etc.) - all easily identifiable via a simple web search - and created technology still in use by major corporations including Yahoo! and Apple, with dozens of patent filings and notable sources within online search results and printed materials. He was a pioneer of automating the creation of video from data, as demonstrated via many cited news sources, and awarded patents. Deletion of the page seems unwarranted. The inventor remains a sought after expert, and reference materials on him are helpful to the technology community at large. He has authored articles in major publications including, but not limited to, Newsweek (on page one of his search results), and his inventions have featured prominently inside the pages of MIT technology review, the NY Times, and more. —65.204.33.38 (talk) 23:05, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

I have some doubts about duplication with the company article, but as a prod it can be restored., and I have done so. AfD optional DGG ( talk ) 06:25, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

Stephen Mbogo[edit]

There are sources on Google News (using the name "Steve Mbogo") that indicate that the person meets WP:GNG and WP:NBIO. The article and its talk page should therefore be undeleted, allowing for sources to be added to the article. —GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 01:21, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

  • @GeoffreyT2000: I think we may be looking at different people here, the deleted article described the subject as "a Kenyan development journalist and a regional security analyst". The Steve Mbogo who gets all the Google News hits is a "flamboyant politician" and businessman. Hut 8.5 06:41, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

Kaseya[edit]

Company is one of just a few major players in the Remote Management & Monitoring software platforms for Managed Service Providers. I am a customer/user of their software products, and wanted to learn more about the company and surprise an article does not exist. I wish to establish a neutral viewpoint article about the company and their products. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bwave (talkcontribs) 15:49, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

X mark.svg Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kaseya, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user MER-C (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review.

Fireman (Musician)[edit]

This deletion policy makes for a horrible experience! I will never contribute another minute of my time on wiki if my article is not returned for further editing. I don't have it saved anywhere, I am gradually writing the article at my pace and your just going to let someone delete it immediately?? It was not even close to finished! NOT EVEN CLOSE!! I doubt any research was done in your "SPEEDY" process, and it takes time to contribute good content. When all your work gets deleted by some lonely no life, it makes you want to go on a deleting rampage! If you give me more than a few days to figure out this mess of a failing website, and actually finish my article, I will eventually have all relevant information provided on the page. Thank You And Probably Goodbye}

  • Restoring to draft space.
@Mciverbrooks: I agree with the deleting editor that the article did not assert the significance or importance of Fireman. (I disagree on the claim that the article is pure promotion.) I also note that you had been working on it just a few minutes before the speedy deletion was applied, yet you did nothing in the next hour to address the pending deletion—no further edits, no talk page messages.
Under the circumstances, I am going to restore the article to Draft space for you to work on it. Look for it momentarily at Draft:Fireman (musician). —C.Fred (talk) 16:48, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
There is a reason the drafting process exists, and it's so that you can edit articles that are not yet ready for mainspace with less fear of it being deleted, which is why the page was just undeleted and moved to draft (see Draft:Fireman (musician)). Creating an article directly in mainspace is the best way to ensure that it is deleted if it is found wanting, since mainspace is indexed by search engines (drafts are not by design).
I would also suggest not insulting the administrators - this is an unpaid volunteer gig, and the personal attacks are utterly uncalled for. It'd be akin to cursing out a waiter at a restaurant because you botched your order. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 16:54, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

File:The Official Handbook of the Ultimate Marvel Universe.jpg[edit]

The comic book cover was first uploaded as it is. In the second version, a bot adjusted its size. In the third version, it was replaced by a textless version. Of course, being a non-free file, all the original revisions were deleted. However, as it was discussed here, textless comic book covers should only be used when the purpose is to show how does a character look like. If the article is about a publication, ity should have all the texts and logos. The file is used in Ultimate Marvel, an article about a comic book imprint, so it's clearly the second case. The revision restored should be the second one, the one with the size fixed by the bot. —Cambalachero (talk) 16:07, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

List of Nostalgia Critic episodes[edit]

Please, in all honesty, I do not care that all those List of Nostalgia Critic episode pages should be contained with a lot of references and sources and whatnot. They're just episode articles, and they're designed to show full episode summaries, while other websites describe only the plots. That's all what they're mainly designed for, to show episode summaries for people to read here, and doesn't always have to survive on references and sources. I'm not gonna try and do this this time, but I call for a vote of restoring every single List of Nostalgia Critic page in existence, and all I'm doing is waiting until that call is heard.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Levi Paton (talkcontribs)

Not done Submission was not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources. Sourcing is mandatory, not optional. If you can't find "references and sources and whatnot", then by definition the subject is not notable and has no place here. Wikipedia is not a episode guide; if you want to create a wiki for non-notable content about Nostalgic Critic, then set up your own wiki and have fun. --02:04, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Tommy Alastra[edit]

Article was previously seen as notable within the scope of WikiProject Bio and WikiProject Film. The article was deleted without discussion citing G5: Created by a banned or blocked user (Jasleen Ahluwalia) in violation of ban or block. However, upon investigation one would note no work was done on this article by User:Jasleen Ahluwalia and no work was done on the article within the duration of the ban so G5 which states "To qualify, the edit or article must have been made while the user was actually banned or blocked” does not apply. —209.116.182.186 (talk) 02:10, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

I would suspect that would be because Jasleen Ahluwalia is the sockmaster. G5 also only applies if the page was *created* by the user while they were blocked/banned and there aren't extenuating circumstances (i.e. significant good-faith edits by several other unrelated editors in good standing). If the page was created by a sock of them at any point after 16 Jan 2018 (When Jasleen was checkuser-blocked) and there weren't any significant good-faith efforts to improve the article since, then the G5 is valid. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 03:32, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Please check and review the article and you would see that no edits were done by User:Jasleen Ahluwalia or any accounts associated with this account after the date you mentioned. All I ask in an interest in fairness is for you to check. Thanks209.116.182.186 (talk) 03:53, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Technically this doesn't qualify for G5 - although the page was created by User:Nottoohackneyed (blocked as a meatpuppet of Jasleen Ahluwalia) and had no significant edits by other people it was created on 23 September 2017. However the reason given for deletion (G5) is not typically one which is handled through this process, and I'm certainly not going to restore the page at the request of an IP who may well be another sock- or meat-puppet of this user. You'll need to talk to the deleting admin or use WP:DRV. Hut 8.5 06:48, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you again. I know you said to use WP:DRV or talk to the person who deleted the article. WP:DRV is supposed to be used for deletion discussion and speedy deletion and not G5 deletion and i'm trying not to involve the person who deleted the article but someone else to act as sort of an arbitrator. I think we can both agree the G5 does not apply to this article as a valid reason for deletion. With G5 being the sole reason for the article's deletion that means the article was unfairly deleted based on one person opinion that it should not exist. Not because of a consensus. Whats more is this is not the only article deleted by User:JzG all stating G5. Please review, Did these article all meet the criteria for G5 deletion? If not isn't this vandalism and why is someone allowed to become so powerful that they can delete articles without good reason or any type of consensus. In the interest of fairness can you restore the article but place it in deletion discussion? That way a consensus can decide if its appropriate for Wikipedia and not a single individual. 209.116.182.186 (talk) 03:40, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
G5 deletions are a type of speedy deletion, DRV does review G5 deletions. While the article doesn't technically qualify for G5 it is only on a technicality that it doesn't qualify. Wikipedia is not a bureaucracy and rules can be flexible. I'm not going to restore this on the basis of a request from a random IP (who could well be another paid editor/sockpuppet/meatpuppet) and I doubt you'll find many people at DRV who will either. Draft:David Bawiec[edit]

I, Bluestar2003, request the undeletion of this draft or Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Bluestar2003 (talk) 05:12, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

@Bluestar2003: Symbol possible vote.svg Declined pending further information. This was undeleted over six months ago with a pledge that it would be worked on, but no edits were made to improve the entry for resubmission. Articles for creation is not an indefinite hosting service for material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia's article mainspace. We may be willing to restore it again, but only if you provide a definite assurance that you actually intend to work on it and provide a short description of what you intend to do to improve it to meet our policies and guidelines. Please advise. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:45, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Khyati Bhatt[edit]

It is not an autobiography —Khyati Vikani Bhatt (talk) 06:43, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

@Khyati Vikani Bhatt: Then who are you? Why are you using the name of the subject of the article? Are you impersonating someone? If you are the subject, have you read Wikipedia:Autobiography? If you are representing the subject, have you complied with WP:PAID? If you have any association with the subject, have you read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and in keeping with that, write your articles in draft space and submit them via Wikipedia:Articles for creation? It seems the answer is "no" to any of those questions. When you can answer "yes", please reply. ~Anachronist (talk) 15:28, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

cjdns[edit]

Mesh networking communities are relaying their concerns over the deletion of the cjdns wiki. This mesh networking technology has been heavily developed on and integrated with communities advocating decentralization and in general cord-cutting through community mesh networking. When people are interested in researching mesh networking technologies, especially those concerned with privacy and security, they typically find the cjdns wikipedia in their top 5 search results. In a time where network neutrality is at risk, we all need to do our part in maintaining public awareness which includes social democratic alternatives in obtaining media, research and communication channels without depending on big cable —2602:FF65:0:99:216:3CFF:FE46:CBA7 (talk) 14:57, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

X mark.svg Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cjdns, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Spartaz (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:41, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Samlino.dk[edit]

There is 1300 danes searching for Samlino every month and 140 for "samlino dk". This proves that people use the service and that they want to know about it. Therefore, I believe that it would be relevant to include it in Wikipedia. Furthermore, the site is mentioned in several big Danish media week in and week out and is founded by one of the biggest Danish entrepreneurs wherefore it would be relevant to read about. —Frederikjønsson (talk) 15:08, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

@Frederikjønsson: X mark.svg Not done - this page was deleted in accordance with criterion for speedy deletion A7. If you believe that this decision was made in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, please contact the administrator who carried out the deletion, user Bbb23 (talk · contribs). Jeffrey McFadden[edit]

The article was deleted in 2016 using the Proposed deletion (PROD) mechanism. Yet he easily meets the criteria for notability, including having several albums released on Naxos Records, a well-known label specializing in classical music, having one a silver medal in a major music competition sponsored by the Guitar Foundation of America (this is probably the most prestigious guitar competition in the Americas), and having (despite the PROD claims) having received critical notice in major media outlets such as the The_Daily_Telegraph, The Ottawa Citizen, and Gramophone and several others (these are noted on his website, to which the article links). I was not done with the page, but it was deleted, along with Imastercopy. I did not submit for review. I working so hard on these pages and now they are deleted! Why? I web to bed and said I would finish up today! wow.. whom are checking sandbox, but the page is even published?

If you had read your user talk page, then you would have learned the first one was deleted because it was a copy-paste from another website and the second because it was blatantly promotional and didn't explain why the subject was notable per Wikipedia's standards. Well Jeremy, the good news for administrators now is that we can search the deleted space for names. There is Audiowav Media, Inc deleted under A7, and prior to that gutted to remove advertising text. Draft:Audiowav Media, Inc. was deleted under G11 (correctly in my opinion). Lastly there was Draft:Audiowav Media Inc. / WAV Global deleted under G13. So for Draft:Audiowav Media Inc. / WAV Global ....

@Maude-Duggel:. There was zero assertion of notability and zero evidence of significant coverage; therefore, it doesn't belong.
