Administrator instructions

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.
"WP:RFU" redirects here. For requests for unblock, see Category:Requests for unblock. For requests for unprotection, see Wikipedia:Requests for page protection § Current requests for reduction in protection level.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied, restored as a draft or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that articles deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7, G5 or G11 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

File:FreeFlyer_GUI_Screenshot.jpg[edit]

I submitted this for undeletion a couple of weeks ago, but it was archived before I received a response. The above image was deleted back in September due to "F6: Non-free media file with no non-free use rationale (TW)". I'm in a position at the software's owning company to provide such fair-use for screenshots of the tool, and I'd like a screenshot to exist on the page to improve its quality. Can this be undeleted or can I just upload another one without issue? 38.103.29.194 (talk) 17:19, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

Please look at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 22:20, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
You can also upload a non free file, as long as it satisfies the WP:NFCC including that it is used. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:40, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for the direction. I'll follow those instructions and upload a new, appropriate image. B.cody.thompson (talk) 22:18, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Draft: Paint (musical group)[edit]

I, Jeepster33, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Jeepster33 (talk) 20:25, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

  • @Jeepster33: This was restored last year without any improvements on the page. What do you plan to do this time if it is restored? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:20, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

List of Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom by date of death[edit]

Plan to redirect this to List of Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom by age, but I would like the former contents restored per {{R with history}}. —--Nevéselbert 21:38, 15 February 2017 (UTC)

  • I have just created a redirect for you, but you could have done that too. Since the page was contributed by a sock of some-other blocked user, we wish to avoid having unneeded contributions from them. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:56, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
    • @Graeme Bartlett: Would it really be bad form to restore the edit history, though? It's just that I'm just really interested in prime ministerial trivia, and I wanted to read some it from the history in my spare time. Well, thanks anyway.--Nevéselbert 16:37, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Draft:Target Open House[edit]

Sentinel Capital Partners[edit]

I kindly object to this article being deleted via PROD and amicably request the restoration of this article so that it may be improved. This article was a stub that relied too heavily on the company's website. However, this article could easily be improved with verifiable, objective information. A cursory Google search will show ample articles written about the topic. The page was initially made in serve of WikiProject Private Equity, the Private Equity WikiProject Task Force. This article was recently deleted through an expired PROD. The subject is worth inclusion in Wikipedia and I'd be happy to do the legwork to substantially improve the article from the stub and source it heavily. Thank you. —Southrunner10 (talk) 04:13, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

  • X mark.svg Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Geometric (company), it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Salvio giuliano (talk · contribs). Harris Publishing Inc.[edit]

This was my first attempt at a Wikipedia page, and though not perfect, I see no reason for a speedy deletion to have occurred. I am requestiong this undeletion in hopes of having the opportunity to see what was wrong and improve it so that this article (and others in the future) might add to the community. —Ajrupp (talk) 17:29, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

X mark.svg Not done - this page was deleted in accordance with criterion for speedy deletion G11. If you have already done so, your concerns can be taken to deletion review. ~Anachronist (talk) 00:33, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
ao far from being factual, it is from the beginning on full of poorly supported praise. The first sentence has " recognized for his prescient calls" referenced to a mere mention and his own essay (not listed as such in the reference). The majority of the references are in fact his own essays. Some are specified as his; some have the authorship information information not shown. Most of the others report his own views at a variety of conferences. The subject of an article is generally not a good person to judge its objectivity. DGG ( talk ) 02:04, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Decision-making software[edit]

Hi Anachronist, the Decision-making software article requires undeletion because some content was lost during its merge into Decision support systems. If you would be so kind... Franzo (talk) 06:07, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

@Franzo: Neither article has been deleted, and neither article has any contribution history that has been deleted. It is all there in the history for any editor to access. Again, there is nothing to do here, nothing to undelete, because nothing has been deleted. ~Anachronist (talk) 06:09, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

Axlfolie[edit]

This page was correctly edited and formatted to show Axlfolie significance and importance to music production. The page did not display any bias opinion or any sort of advertising for the artist. It had a general biography and background information that could be added to and expanded by other Wikipedia users. There was not any copyright infringement as it had when deleted previously. Information in the article was cited properly as needed with sources to avoid any sort or plagiarism or copyright infringement. —Chrisasanchez8 (talk) 23:48, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Deskera[edit]

Deskera Inc- Hi there, we noticed our company does not have a wikipedia page. A quick check of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Deskera_(2nd_nomination) showed us that in the past, we had one.

We are not sure what content was on the previous wikipedia page, or who was responsible for writing it. We're a totally new team based out of San Francisco and we'd like the opportunity to rewrite an objective article and submit it to wikipedia. Let us know what we can do. Thanks!

Pallavi Sud & Rebecca Neufeld

  • Hi! You stated that you're a new team out of San Francisco, but the deleted article looks like it was about a company in Singapore. Is this the same company and if it is, you need to state what your relation is to that company. One of the past issues with the page was that it appeared that the company had paid someone to create an article for them and this status was never disclosed, which is required by WP:COI guidelines. You've disclosed here that you work with the company, but we'd need a little clarification here.
Now if this is the Singapore company, we can't restore the article here but you can ask Jo-Jo Eumerus if they will send you a copy of the page. I would really recommend that you check in with the WP:TEAHOUSE for help constructing the page and honestly, I'd check there first before really moving forward with any page creation. Something to be careful about is that most companies don't pass WP:NCORP regardless of how successful they are - we actually have million and sometimes billion dollar companies that fail notability guidelines on here because of the lack of non routine and non-PR coverage. New companies rarely get this type of coverage. The Teahouse would be great at helping with this. I would also recommend making any potential article through WP:AfC. @Lynnanchio: No explanation? The discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/International Artists Records isn't sufficient? You had ample opportunity to participate there. The notice was on the article for at least a week.
Furthermore, it seems that you haven't read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Do so now, because you clearly have a conflict of interest here. Be aware that you should not make substantive changes to any article with which you have a conflict of interest. You should propose your changes on the talk page instead. Wikipedia is not a publicity medium and should never be used that way.

List of DirecTV channels[edit]

  • This was deleted at AfD by Drmies in 2012, so you'll need to ask him. I do have to share in concerns from the AfD that the list will be forever at risk of being incorrect due to changes in channels and it could be seen as a bit too much of miscellaneous data (WP:NOTDIR), especially given that we could just easily link to the company's website, where the lineup is already given. I'm not saying that it could never be on here, but you'll have to show where this is of lasting importance to Wikipedia. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 02:28, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

Del Toro & Santana[edit]

this law firm is the law firm which former Governor Carlos Romero Barceló founded and which he quit after election to Congress as Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico. This has historical significance. Another of the firm's founders, Russell A. Del Toro, became a national figure after becoming the first Hispanic elected to preside the Federal Bar Association in Washington, DC, another fact of historical importance. —Estequestacatras (talk) 00:03, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

Elaine Mazlish[edit]

Not having a page for 'Elaine Mazlish' while we have a page for 'Adele Faber' is like having a page/article for only one of the Winklevoss twins. I understand that the content provided by ME was not in compliance of Wikipedia, but that should be regarded as MY incompetence and not challenge the merits of the article/page as clearly, I had no intentions to make it look like a promotion or a marketing blurb (as the people in question are aged 89 and above and have not requested for the same). —TopCipher 07:10, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

Smash David[edit]

This article was just deleted because of a dispute with other editors a few months ago, but this article should be reconsidered now since Smash David accomplished much more now, with a single he produced for Big Sean, Bounce Back, which his Sean's highest charting single in the US at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and certified Gold by the RIAA, and another single for Khalid, Location, which is at number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100, so clearly this article has passed WP:NMUSIC, so it should be undeleted. —Bloomdoom2 (talk) 00:58, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Since one of those two songs were already on the article at the prior AfD, you'll really need to give them a lot of good sourcing to justify inclusion. Katharine Towne[edit]

The page was deleted after fifteen years, citing a lack of relevance, however I feel that the subject has enough relevance to warrant inclusion. She hasthree dozen listed credits on IMDB,[1] many of which are starring or featured roles, all of which are verified, and is still listed in the Top 5000 on the IMDB Starmeter. In addition, the cultural/historical significance of her family bolsters that the page is a valid resource for the entertainment industry.

She is linked/referenced on the following pages:

Julie Payne (mother)[2] Robert Towne (father)[3] Charlie Hunnam (divorced)[4]

She's also linked to many acting credits on Wikipedia.

I tried contacting the admin who deleted the page, but received no response. Thank you for your time and consideration. —Chrisfullerton1974 (talk) 21:05, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

References

  • We don't count IMDB or Wikipedia as reliable sources, but they can suggest that there would be more information. Can you find some actual web sites, magazines or newspapers that have an article on this person? We need more information than just a one line mention of an acting credit to be substantial. The deleting admin looks not to be very active. But if there are better references available then I would make this a draft for you to work on. Otherwise if everything in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Katharine Towne is correct, there are no substantial, independent, reliable sources. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:33, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

I'll add that other wikis, directory listings, directory profiles (e.g. Rotten Tomatoes), interviews, and trivial mentions don't count toward notability either. There must be significant coverage of the person (not a few sentences) by multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Additionally she must meet the requirements in WP:NACTOR to be considered for inclusion on Wikipedia. ~Anachronist (talk) 01:22, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Since you didn't bother to read any of the previous things written here, I'll go ahead and summarize:

I tried contacting "Daniel" and he didn't respond. The original editor who replied to my post here said he's been inactive, so let's go ahead and mar that one off the list.

Second, the Notability requirement says "Actors, voice actors, comedians, opinion makers, models, and celebrities: Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions.", however, you don't take into account movie or television credits, via verifiable sources, such as IMDB, which is pretty much the standard reference for film and television credits. What is it you're looking to be proven? That she was in the things IMDB lists? That she has a fan base? She's Top 5000 on IMDB, so clearly there are a fair amount of people interested in her.

I've always been a champion of Wikipedia, but now I understand the complaints I've heard. Chrisfullerton1974 (talk) 04:14, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

IMDb is actually not a reliable source by our standards because it's a wiki, and thus (a) subject to radical change at any point and (b ) lacks professional editorial oversight and factchecking. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 09:29, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
@Chrisfullerton1974: Since you didn't fully comprehend my earlier response, I'll summarize: Your early block of sources above (IMDB and Wikipedia) are not acceptable for establishing notability. Your second block of sources are unconvincing, because they consist of trivial mentions, directory listing blurbs, coverage of a show but not the actress, and interviews, none of which constitute significant coverage of the subject. And merely having "credits" in numerous shows doesn't count, we need significant roles. The deleted article contains an unsourced claim that she won an Oscar! If you had a reliable source for that, we could reconsider.
So again, X mark.svg Not done. You are free to take this to Wikipedia:Deletion review to get a consensus on whether the deletion was improper, or you can start a new article, preferably not in main space but in draft space (if you do it in main space it would be speedily deleted per WP:G4). Nothing is preventing you from creating a new article. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:34, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
  • Also just in case they contest this here again - this is the wrong avenue for this, as it went to AfD. If the deleting admin declines or doesn't respond then the only place to take this is deletion review. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:52, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
  • On the Oscar, it looks like the article was referring to her father, who won the Oscar. Something to note is that notability is WP:NOTINHERITED by being the child of notable people and it's not always inherited by being part of a notable TV series or film - the only time that would give someone notability is if their role is major enough to get noted in coverage of the film/series. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:54, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Aika Tappaa[edit]

Inappropriate G4 deletion. Following a controversial AFD close based on the number and quality of sources, the text was userfied; substantive improvements were made, including the addition of apparently reliable sources, and the text moved back to mainspace. Then it was G4'd at the request of the AFD closer, who has also stated that the article cannot be restored except through DRV (which is also pending). The texts were not substantially identical; whether or not the new sourcing is sufficient is to be determined by standard deletion process, not administrator fiat. —21:52, 21 February 2017 (UTC)The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). • Eva1403, it looks like you requested that this be restored back in April 2016, but made no edits to the page. There was also some concern that the content was far too promotional to be accepted, which is likely due to the fact that the draft heavily relied on content used elsewhere on the Internet. The reason I'm mentioning this is that it might be better for you to just start a whole new article from scratch in your own words, as this might make it less likely to be promotional.
