[edit]06:49:02, 7 July 2017 review of submission by CallumLow
[edit]Hi there. Full disclosure first - I am an employee of the organisation started by Scott Neeson, the subject of this article. I have followed all of the COI guidelines.
I've been trying to get this page to an acceptable standard for some time, but have come across resistance from reviewers. They believe that it does not meet the notability guidelines. I respectfully disagree - Scott's journey from President of 20th Century Fox to starting a charity for children scavenging on a garbage dump in Cambodia is certainly interesting - interesting enough to have been covered frequently over the years by many high profile independent news sources including the Wall Street Journal and Variety Magazine. Reviewers to date have stated that this life change in itself isn't notable enough and that a focus would have to be on Scott's time with 20th Century Fox - unfortunately, this was pre-2004 and much of it was only covered in the paper press (we do have copies of this - could we upload them and use them as primary sources?)
Do I have any available options here? Do you agree that this article is not notable enough? I originally had much more information about Scott's current organisation, but the article was then deemed too promotional. I would happily hand this over to any editor to change as they see fit, to meet the standards - is this an option? CallumLow (talk) 06:49, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, Callum. Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. I think it is going to be difficult to justify an article for Neeson. Regarding his involvement with 20th Century, all organizations have executives and large organizations have lots of them. Very few have careers that would justify mention even in the company's Wikipedia article, let alone an entire stand-alone article. As for the material on the Cambodian Children's Fund, some of it already appears in that other article. And the bit about the founding of the Fund could easily fit there, as well. In all, I don't see how Neeson merits an article on Wikipedia. But I also see no reason why the title "Scott Neeson" couldn't be used as a re-direct to the article on the Cambodia fund. Perhaps that will be the better approach here. I hope this response has been helpful. NewYorkActuary (talk) 09:59, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

- No draft specified!
I've just attempted to edit my sources for this entry. However, I'm unable to do so. Instructions in the rejection notice tell me to hit the "edit" tab at the top of the page to make changes. I see "edit source", but the "edit" tab does not exist.
Thanks for your help.
- @Majicmarty: Clicking "edit source" will still bring up the editing window. It does the same thing as the edit tab. —MRD2014 19:49, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
