This page was established to deal with the proposal by Rock drum that WikiProject Children's literature should open a Job Centre in the style of the WikiProject Novels Job Centre.

Original Discussion[edit]

Should this project have a Job Centre such as WikiProject Novels have. I'm not sure if this project is large enough; that is the reason that we don't have a newsletter. Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 17:19, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

What kind of jobs would be included? There is no point in one if there aren't official jobs, and there don't seem to be many at the moment. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 16:52, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
What is your definition of official jobs? Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 17:03, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Well, you pointed to the WikiProject Novels job centre. That page is essentially a list of set tasks, such as "Newsletter editor", "Collaboration co-ordinator", each of which has its own priority, list of responsibilities etc. Before creating a job centre like this, surely we need to create some of these jobs to place there. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 18:08, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Jobs could include Collaboration coordinator, Task force coordinator, Project promoter' (jobs could include making a {{Wikipedia ads}}, advertising at the Wikipedia Signpost etc.) and article image moniter. These are just a few ideas, does anyone else have any? Thanks, Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 18:14, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
we should have assessment coordinator too. Shuggiebear97 3:47, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

The Job Centre[edit]

Please discuss whether or not a Job Centre should be established below.

  • Support - I think that a job centre is a great idea, provided that we can find enough useful jobs for it to be worth the effort maintaining, and providing that enough people are willing to take on official roles. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 11:21, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Possible Jobs[edit]

Please suggest and discuss possible jobs to be included in any future Job Centre below.

Assessment Co-ordinator[edit]

In charge of maintaining the assessment department, keeping the criteria updated and organising assessment drives if neccessary. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 11:27, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Collaboration Co-ordinator[edit]

In charge of organising and publicising the collaboration department. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 11:27, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Project Evangelist/Outreach Co-ordinator[edit]

A job for possibly more than one person. The Project Evangelist is in charge of advertising the project through any means possible and taking an active part in an outreach department (anybody want to create one?). Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 17:39, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Parent Project liaison officer[edit]

In charge of cooperating with WikiProject Novels who are, after all, this project's parent project. Rock drum Ba-dumCrash (Review me) 07:50, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Could this be expanded to deal with all related projects? For instance, WikiProjects Artemis Fowl and Harry Potter should probably be liased with, but they aren't parent projects. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 09:53, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Good idea. This could include WikiProject Novel's related Task Forces too. Rock drum Ba-dumCrash (Review me) 13:05, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Newsletter Editor[edit]

In charge of collecting news from other Co-ordinators and communicating it regularly with project members. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 15:42, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
