Welcome to the Wikipedia Standard System Project
(The Scientfic Wikification Project)

This project is a science and space research development project for Wikipedia which enhances user comprehension and the editor knowledge base by means of creating a more efficient and user-friendly scientific experience. Its intent is to establish a standardized system of measurement in a Universally Supported Article format that is compatible with the native MediaWiki parser.

Simplified and Scientific Notation System[edit]

Introduction-

  • This project; a research foundation of the Wikipedia family of information bureaus seeks to establish a more concise user-friendly environment by exercising logical features and existing resource. By making this project more efficient, all users and editors may contribute to the future of Wikipedia as a whole.

Precursory Statement-

  • The Wikipedia Standard System is a scientific and astronomical campaign to normalize all articles written and submitted unto the Wikipedia family. Its goals are to establish a standard system of Universally Supported Articles by suggesting encyclopedic grade statements measuring large distances and other modes of astronomical standards should be respectively prefixed under "The Wikipedia Standard System (or WiS)".

These measurements should include:

  1. Astronomic & Astronautic Measure
  2. Energy Generation & Consumption
  3. Luminosity & Radiological Measure
  4. Particle & Sub-Nuclear Measure
  5. Space & Distance Expressions
  6. Scientific Formulas & Abbreviations
  7. Time & Speed Measure


The project's prime directive is to implement a taskforce to patrol all articles, insuring the WiS prefix is used on all Wikipedia-based astronomical and scientific notation; complete with footnotes, data tables and simplified article version options.

Parsec Shift Taskforce[edit]

The Parsec Shift Project consists of a taskforce of the Wikipedia Standard System sister projects which utilizes embedded features of the MediaWiki parser to complete patrol and other regulatory checks. Such checks may include features such as surveying, technical maintenance, article semantics, patrolling, logging (page readings), edits made and other notable functions.

  • Synopsis of Taskforce Directives-

It is suggested that all scientific notation; unless needed, should be rounded up (during the winter solstice) and rounded down (during the summer solstice) that a more accurate standard system may be observed. This simple rule of operation should be standard across all Wikipedia and its sister sites. (i.e.- the Parsec Shift Project). Notation may be expanded by usage of data tables, available in template form on the main Wikipedia site.

  • Taskforce Functions, Hooks & MediaWiki-

The Parsec Shift taskforce is the enforcement division of the WiS project. Using marked patches from the most recent MediaWiki dispatch release, implementation of new tested and functional WiS extensions (and or Hooks) will be added to the hardcode to help tag and index key target areas of which should be improved within the finished encyclopedia. These areas are individually called Auto Adress Classes, which together form what is know as the Parsec Cache; the central processing module for all new WiS taskforce extensions.

  • Auto-Address Classes-

Below are the 7 different Auto-Address classes and how each contributes to the WiS project:

  1. Record Settings Class: The central-most class document, needed to change extension settings.
  2. Organized & Executable Class: Parser used to survey conforming & non-conforming articles.
  3. Numeration System Class: Directory file of references for math formula, coordinates, etc.
  4. Notation Conversion Class: File index for WiS system messages, magic words, tags and functions.
  5. Directory Index Class: Database maintenance and utility files.
  6. Basic Internationalization Class (I18n): MediaWiki conforming internationalization files.
  7. Archival Class: Auto-Address Class update/upgrade and legacy files.

Additional Things To Be Completed[edit]

The WiS project provides its participants opportunity to participate on various levels that an joint effort may be established to see the project through its first major benchmarks. The project will be continually updating items listed to be completed (or TBC). The most popular TBC are:

  1. Submitting New Articles to Be Considered (or ABC's)
  2. Surveying Existing Articles to Be Edited (or ABE's)
  3. Talk Page Request Response (or R&R's)

When attempting to complete a TBC, simply use the discussion page for the project and clearly label which TBC you are completing.


Test Laboratory Classes[edit]

The WiS project supports a testing laboratory for several testing focus areas, all of which follow a stringent testing course of conforming Infrastructure Components, used to construct each WiS parser tool and informational instrument and a System-wide Oval Plan which allows direct access to the Wikipedia and MediaWiki application programming interface. These classes exercise in accordance to and in conjunction with The United States Air Force rendering of the Northrop T-38 Talon trainer craft program. Note; This project is not directly affiliated with nor is contracted under the United States Air Force. The trainer craft program is only used to generate illustrations of differential and other pivotal study based determination.
