I'm novice fun of this incredible "chess on ice" (year only; because Russian curling team plays better and better... and when I watched STOH 2015 online year ago - I seen RACHEL HOMAN! Wow!!!!) - so now I'm "chief" in Ru-Wiki Project "Curling" (it was "near zero level" just 5 monthes ago - but now it expandes fast: me and 2-3 guys translates articles from Eng to Ru - for example, last few weeks I'm translating articles about famous Canadian women curlers & STOH's, - writes about Ru-Curling events & persons and so on). Excuse me for "not the best English" - but I'm trying! :) Any help needed? You are welcome of course! More info about me on Eng? Look at my User page in Eng-Wiki. And..... Haaaard!!! :)

Article Guidelines[edit]

The assessment is done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the Curling project banner; this causes the articles to be placed in the appropriate sub-categories of Category:Curling articles by quality and Category:Curling articles by importance, which serve as the foundation for an automatically generated worklist.

Hello please comment in on the current discussion about the Curling notability guidelines here Wikipedia talk:Notability (sports)#Curling guidelines way too lenient. The discussion is about how to treat non canadian curlers. While the above guidelines work for countries where curling is popular (i.e. Canada) they are likely too lenient for other countries. Please add your input. Thanks --MATThematical (talk) 19:42, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

To do list[edit]

The To do list contains articles which have been requested to be made or improved upon to current standards/expectations. Feel free to leave any articles you wish to be created or improved upon inside the appropriate header.

  • Create an Infobox template for US Curling Clubs. Once complete, it could be cloned for use in Canada or other countries. I am working on this. --WaxonWaxov (talk) 12:04, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Some members have expressed interest in doing a monthly collaboration, in which a low-quality article would be massively improved, with the hope of eventually getting the article to Good Article status. All low-quality articles about or closely related to curling may be nominees for the collaboration. See WP:CURLING/AID for a list of articles to be improved.

Nomination procedure[edit]

Note: This format is taken from WikiProject Birds. I am unaware of where they got it.

If you wish to nominate an article, please use the following format: ====ARTICLE NAME====
Nominated MONTH DAY YEAR;

  1. (sign with four tildes)

  • (put your reason for nomination, sign again)

Please use the following code when voting to support an article.

Skip (curling)[edit]

Nominated January 21 2012;

  1. Peacock28 (talk) 00:17, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
  2. -- Earl Andrew - talk 02:59, 21 January 2012 (UTC) I'll support this to get the ball going.
  3. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 02:44, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
  4. Jake Rowsell (talk) 17:54, March 22, 2013 (AST)

  • In spite of the article's obvious importance, it is poorly written and very short. It also has few citations. Additionally, the majority of the article is simply a list of famous skips; very little is about what a skip does. Peacock28 (talk) 00:17, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
  • Also, if we can find the time to add pages for the lead, second, and third (mate), that would be awesome! I also agree with Peacock28, it can/could be improved.......and I will try and see if I have time to work on that article. Jake Rowsell (talk) 17:56, 22 March 2013 (AST)
    • I agree. If anyone has the Russ Howard book, it has really good analysises of the various positions. I don't have it, unfortunately. -- Earl Andrew - talk 19:01, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
      • I have a Russ Howard book called Curl to Win at my house. Is that the one? Thatcurler (talk) 13:17, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
