Women in RedAbout us

Hello! and welcome to WikiProject Women in Red (WiR), whose objective is to turn red links into blue ones. Our project's scope is women's biographies and women's works, broadly construed. Did you know that, according to Humaniki, only 19.65% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women? Not impressed? Content gender gap is a form of systemic bias, and this is what WiR addresses. We invite you to participate, whenever you like, in whatever way suits you and your schedule.
Women in Red warmly welcomes you!

Asian Women Month 2018

Women in Red is encouraging coverage of Asian women in connection with Wikipedia Asian Month from 1 to 30 November 2018. This will help overcome the content gender gap in Asian content. All are welcome to participate, both inexperienced and seasoned editors. Articles should focus on women from Asia (whether born in Asia or gaining notability there). The virtual editathon allows enthusiasts from around the globe to participate in the event. See the list of red-linked Asian Women for guidance.

Asian Women Month observes the rules of Wikipedia Asian Month.

Women in Red is also hosting editathons on Women in Religion and Deceased politicians in November. If you create articles on Asian Women in connection with these events, you are encouraged to include them in the Wikipedia Asian Month contest too.
