Campus Ambassador Review[edit]

Hi all, I have applied for Campus ambassador, waiting for my profile and application to be reviewed. I am very excited to hear from you all. Please guide me and Support my application. SantoshiWiki (talk) 06:28, 30 June 2016 (UTC)SantoshiWiki[reply]

It was accidentally archived and I pulled it back into the main page. OhanaUnitedTalk page 00:29, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bug report[edit]

See my post Wikipedia:Education_noticeboard#Course_page_overwritten.3F. Posting on the talk page just in case the main entry gets forgotten/archived. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:49, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:AKlapper (WMF) Could you also report this one? Now archived at Wikipedia:Education_noticeboard/Archive_14#Course_page_overwritten.3F and ignored here. --Hanyangprofessor2 (talk) 02:06, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Hanyangprofessor2: Have you considered creating an account? It takes five clicks (and one email address). After that you could directly interact in Phabricator instead of proxying here. :) --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 13:21, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
User:AKlapper (WMF): I did, but the interface looks complex enough I am afraid figuring out how the site works could take me half an hour. I prefer to use it to do one of the zillion needed tasks I can do here, while hoping doing this favor for me will not take you more then few minutes. Thus, we both use our time more efficiently. I hope. :) --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 13:41, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Hanyangprofessor2:After logging into Phabricator and going to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/edit/form/1/?projects=MediaWiki-extensions-EducationProgram , there are only two fields that are relevant and to fill out: "Title" and "Description". Please ignore all the other fields and please do not be afraid of 'doing something wrong'. Thanks again for trying! :) --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 14:35, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The new course spam needs to stop[edit]

I noticed that this noticeboard is becoming unused, and I think part of it is the annoying automatic reporting of every new course. It is making finding discussions here difficult, both in ToC/layout, and by pushing them off people's watchlists. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:23, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. I'm suggesting creating another page where the alerts are stored so that it doesn't annoy editors (including me). WikiPancake 📖 14:37, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - given less-than-recent discussions about the continuation of the ambassador program as we know it (paging Bluerasberry), the clutter here is annoying at best. I agree with WikiPancake ref creating a subpage (@Sage (Wiki Ed): something you may be able to put in place?) -- samtar talk or stalk 14:46, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support No productive day starts without pancakes and here again, WikiPancake has the right idea. The course listings are useful but they should go to another page. The stream of automated postings overpowers this noticeboard and prevents human discussion. I think that this board and the Education noticeboard/Incidents should be merged, and the automated posts should be on their own page alone where humans do not post. Thanks Piotrus for raising the issue and thanks Pancake for proposing a path to resolution. Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:22, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Done I've set the dashboard course announcements to post to Wikipedia:Education noticeboard/Wiki Ed course submissions.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:22, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know anything of this institution[edit]

The article on Ralph Crego mentions he attended Lansing Business University. We seem to have no information on this institution. Does anyone know anything about it?John Pack Lambert (talk) 21:52, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure you're going to get an answer since this is for student editor outreach. PRAXIDICAE🌈 21:55, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I found this link: [1]. Also, the Eli Broad College of Business is located in East Lansing, according to our page on it. I don't know anything more than that. --Tryptofish (talk) 22:00, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think that, after a series of mergers, it was taken over by Davenport University in Grand Rapids. Cullen328 (talk) 22:18, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking feedback of new editors for research[edit]

Dear Student editors, the project Wikidata for Wikimedia at Wikimedia Deutschland is currently investigating the experiences of relatively young or new editors. We are collecting feedback on their awareness, experience and problems of using, editing or integrating Wikidata into the sibling projects (Wikipedia, Commons, Wikisource...).

Interview Information:

  • Conducted in English.
  • Compensation is available.
  • Sign up survey: This link can be shared and sent to interested editors.
  • Experience Level: We are interested in feedback from all experience levels, including those whose awareness of Wikidata is limited to this post. If you doubt you are a suitable candidate for this interview based on inexperience, please reconsider!

We are also taking feedback here in written form if you do not wish or do not have time for a video call interview. Thank you for your attention, Danny Benjafield (WMDE) (talk) 07:45, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
