How to add new sections[edit]

Please do not paste the code of your userbox here. Instead, transclude it. One convenient way is to insert

{{usbktop}}
{{usbk|XXX}}
{{usbkbottom}}
—~~~~

where XXX is the full page name of your userbox. If you are pasting more than one userbox, simply add a {{usbk}} line for each of them. For example,

{{usbktop}}
{{usbk|Template:User en}}
{{usbk|User:Arthur B/Advaita}}
{{usbk|Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada Roads/Userbox}}
...
{{usbkbottom}}
—~~~~

There are already republican userboxes in the section Wikipedia:Userboxes/Location/European_Union/United_Kingdom#Politics but there is no single type of British republican and I wanted to include boxes that better represent users like myself. The first design is for general republicans. I wanted to use neutral colours and symbols as republicans disagree on which flag to use, what to call a British republic and what type of republic it should be but I would be open to suggestions on how to brighten it up. The second design is for supporters of the pressure group Republic (political organisation). Third design refers to one of Republic's slogans (Citizen not subject).

Couldn't find a Userbox for myself with this in it, so I learned how to make one myself. Any comment, etc? —Fritzmann2002 18:47, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

  • I am all for collaboration— what about using some kind of logo to convey the idea rather than high-contrast red and blue (which are a bit visually hard on the eyes)? I can probably either identify some for you or come up with one myself. Mssg me on my talk page if interested in that! KDS4444 (talk) 08:37, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

@ShadowDragon343: Eeeeeeh. Fairly sure that UBs supporting candidates are not allowed, per the rules against political propaganda and advocacy. Okay. So, it seems that political UBs are OK-but there are 3 other UBs about supporting Trump. Search the gallery before you make a UB. Hobbes Novakoff (talk) 21:40, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

{{User:Parkywiki/Userboxes/hovercards}}
Cad mouse 1.jpg Hovercards add colour to Wikipedia browsing. Let's roll it out from beta! New-Bouncywikilogo.gif
Usage

With Hovercards being considered for rolling out as the default across a number of Wikis (providing there's enough broad support from everyone), I thought one way to show that support was by a colourful userbox. I couldn't find a way to get an internal link to work to a user's Preference page for Beta features - maybe someone else can help with that? Happy to see it tweaked, then added to WP:Userboxes/Wikipedia/Miscellaneous But if you're not amongst the 46,000 users currently taking advantage of a better browsing/linking experience, do give it a try . . and spread the word with a Userbox! Parkywiki (talk) 12:08, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

  • I don't object to the use of color, but that red on green is what makes my eyes ache... Would you consider a different color scheme that is less, well, "stabby"? Thanks! KDS4444 (talk) 08:33, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Agree that the color scheme is hard on the eyes. It would likely be considered to be non-accessible to some who are color blind as there is very little contrast between the text and the background. The concept behind this userbox is great! Etamni | ✉   05:45, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

Allows users to made a standardized declaration of a conflict of interest on their userpage in accordance with WP:DISCLOSE instead of writing out a statement (which many new users may not feel confident about doing). Holds up to nine articles that are COI articles for the user, and would allow the user to remove a talkpage warning regarding COIs without violating any COI policies. —KDS4444 (talk) 08:30, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

@Etamni:: You like? Thank you! Am hopeful this tag will eventually receive wide usage, and I should probably work on internationalizing it. But it is good to know that someone read over it and liked it. That matters. I am grateful. KDS4444 (talk) 14:21, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
