Bug in .75

This version does not correctly filter blue links out of the link list when set to display only missing or disambiguation links. Phatom87 (talk contribs) 02:54, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I am sorry, but I don't understand. I tried several combinations with the Options/Show xxx pages and it seems to work for me. Can you give me an example ? --NicoV (talk) 12:35, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't seem to work on OSI model, TCP/IP model or Comparison of VoIP software. Links such as HTTP and HDLC seem to confuse it. Phatom87 (talk contribs) 18:31, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
I created a test page User:Phatom87/Sandbox which demonstrates the problem using a segment from Comparison of VoIP software. The issue only seems to happen when this text is taken as a whole. It works on shorter versions of the table. Phatom87 (talk contribs) 19:45, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

{{Page d}} - is icon displayed helpful? - discuss at Disambiguation talk page

I've opened a discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Disambiguation#.7B.7BPage_d.7D.7D_-_suggest_removal_of_displayed_icon_in_article which might be relevant to readers of this page, as Wikipedia Cleaner is mentioned in the template's documentation. PamD (talk) 11:50, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

dab links in hatnotes

Hallo, I presume that Wikipedia Cleaner ignores, or advises its users to ignore, links to dab pages from well-formatted hatnotes (such as {{otheruses}}). Could I suggest that when users come across a link to a dab page from an informal hatnote, rather than just tag it with "Page d" they restructure it into a standard hatnote? Fulneck Moravian Settlement had a free text hatnote which was tagged, but is more appropriately (to my mind) replaced by using {{redirect}}. See this diff. PamD (talk) 12:14, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Wiki Cleaner knows that some templates create normal links to dab pages. Since I am working on the French wikipedia, I am not sure that the list of templates is correct for the English wikipedia. If you want, you can change this list of templates at fr:Utilisateur:NicoV/Wikipedia Cleaner#Other Wikipedia and I will modify my tool. --NicoV (talk) 07:10, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Disambig bug

Please see Wikipedia talk:Redirect#Redirects from Articles to Categories: warn that it leads to bugs?.

The Wikipedia Cleaner Disambiguation tool should probably skip redirects that start with

[[Category:...

or

[[:Category:...

Also, more generally, the editor using your tool here changed a lot of wikilinks to their redirects, such as

[[definite article]]

to

[[Article (grammar)|definite article]]

But there is some opinion against doing that:

Wikipedia:Redirect#Do not "fix" links to redirects that are not broken

Thanks! -Colfer2 (talk) 05:16, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

On the recent versions of WikiCleaner, links to redirect pages are not displayed in orange anymore (request from xeno), but in cyan, because links to redirect pages are often correct. --NicoV (talk) 18:49, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Problems with other users reverting back changes from the WikiCleaner

Done Recently, after using the WikiCleaner on several pages, I have had other users revert back the changes. Are any of you having the same problem? Any ideas on how to prevent this happening? Thanks for your help! Funandtrvl (talk) 13:09, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

The obvious reason would be in the previous talk section: Wikipedia:Redirect#Do not "fix" links to redirects that are not broken. If you don't like a guideline it should be changed, not overridden, and certainly not overridden automatically by a bot. Art LaPella (talk) 23:50, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Problem detecting disambiguation pages?

Done Hi, I've been using your great program for a month or two and I have noticed that it now doesn't seem to be detecting some links to disambiguation pages. For example doing 'Full analysis' on List of film remakes A-M shows (currently) 8 dab links, but doesn't show John Cromwell or Stuart Walker as disambiguation pages. Tassedethe (talk) 12:02, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I've made a big change for the detection of disambiguation pages (using MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage instead of listing dab templates in my code), but it seems I left a few bugs. After analysis, it appears that I am only retrieving the first 10 templates in MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage so not {{Hndis}} : I've fixed it in a few minutes. It appears that the list of links I am retrieving in a page is currently limited (1000 probably), so with my development version I see more links (12 instead of 8) but still not everyone (I saw dab links alphabetically from 101 Dalmatians to Homeward Bound. It's a little more work, I will try to fix it during the weekend and release a new version.
Thanks for the report. --NicoV (talk) 12:42, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I really appreciate your efforts. Tassedethe (talk) 13:05, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
You can try version 0.83, it should work a lot better (with your examples, it now detects 30 dab links instead of 8). --NicoV (talk) 17:08, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Template:page d

This template was deleted from the English wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2008 May 27#Template:Page d). Instead links that include (disambiguation) should be treated in a similar way (see WP:INTDABLINK). It would be great if the software could be changed to reflect this. -- Fluteflute Talk Contributions 17:48, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Done in v0.86 (only removal of template Page d). --NicoV (talk) 19:24, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
