I found an example of this which is quite interesting. There were reports of rapes at the United States Air Force Academy in the local papers, (I live in Colorado), and in the New York Times so I added this material to the stubby Air Force Academy article. The problem was that Wikipedia is off the radar for students and graduates of the Academy so no one ever came along and added the usual stuff that would have filled out the article. So the article was quite biased for a long time and remains so. Fred Bauder 16:09, Feb 25, 2005 (UTC)

Political bias[edit]

WP is becoming a battle ground for geo-political information wars. The East/West Ukraine conflict is an example. On English pages there is a very strong bias to only using western media sources (RT for example is demonised just because it is Russian). Articles have been edited so that the view of western governments dominate while that of eastern government s is downgraded, distorted or even ignored. Furthermore there seem to be professional “thought police” constantly patrolling contentious topics to ensure that their design prevails. Couple of examples: MH17 disaster, where are the radar and satellite images provided by Russia? Where is there a list of evidence provided? Where is the report of the Russian engineering society mentioned? Where is the Biedermann interview mentioned? Where is the list of questions posed by the Russian government? Another example, the Minsk protocol and memorandum, why not reference the opening paragraphs in the protocol and memorandum to give context and understanding? The Donbass elections: Why not put in the understanding of the Russian government? Why does abuse get hurled at editors who try? A sad state of affairs.Tobeortobe (talk) 04:08, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
