Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Disambiguation/CJKV task force

I would like the purpose of this project to be spelled out in clearer language (i.e. very clear, plain English). Badagnani (talk) 19:23, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Can you be more specific? I'm all for making things clear, but unless you are more specific in your concern, nothing can be done. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 19:31, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
The description of the project, as stated in the main project page, should be made very, very clear, in plain, normal English. Badagnani (talk) 19:34, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
You seem to be echoing. Can you be more specific? Perhaps give an idea of what you find not clear? An idea of what you want changed? Repeating yourself is pointless and useless in a discussion. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 20:47, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
I have done some rearranging of the information, with minor wording changes. Is that better now, or are there still some things you'd like clarified? If so, please be specific regarding those items and I'll see what i can do to make things more clear. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 22:27, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Dab templates[edit]

We've been using the {{disambig-Chinese-char-title‎}} template rather than {{disambig}}. If this works for all our purposes, I think we should mention this in the project page.--Endroit (talk) 00:16, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Not everyone understands templates well. If you can clearly explain how and why it's used, that would be good. Badagnani (talk) 00:27, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
I'll work on it over the weekend.--Endroit (talk) 16:28, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't WP:CJKV point here? (or somewhere in any case) (talk) 05:58, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes, and it does now. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 02:11, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Some useful templates[edit]

I've added a section called "Some useful templates", to suggest some templates specific to this taskforce:

There are other general templates such as {{Wiktionary}} and {{Wiktionarypar}} (described elsewhere) which may also be useful.--Endroit (talk) 16:14, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't agree with the idea to put {{transliterationof}} on Hayashi etc. to link to a disambiguation page per WP:NAMB. That is, those who type the Chinese characters would come from a disambiguation page and those who type transliterations do not need a disambiguation page titled with Chinese characters to find what they are searching. It is however useful when a certain Chinese title redirects to a primary topic and a disambiguation page is titled with "(disambiguation)", for example 九龍. I changed the example given in the project page. --Kusunose 03:38, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

These pages need looking at ASAP[edit]

These pages need looking at ASAP:

  • (this one is up for speedy deletion)
  • (currently a redirect to Nepal)
I don't believe this character (also meaning "Buddhist nun") should be used as a redirect to Nepal. Badagnani (talk) 02:10, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
  • (currently a dicdef, needs to be more or it will be deleted) - Now up for deletion here

Any help is appreciated. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 20:32, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
