Photo opportunities during summer holidays

Just as a heads-up, quite a few public buildings like Buckingham Palace are open to the public during the summer holidays. This could give you access to photo opportunities for articles like Waterloo Vase which are otherwise inaccessible. Anyone fancy it? And of course the annual Open House event on 18-19 September is another good opportunity to get to places you normally wouldn't be allowed into.

Another area I've noticed we're weak on if anyone wants to have a little project, is on historical images of Category:Former buildings and structures of London like defunct stations / Category:Disused railway stations in London and historical events in London like the subcats of Category:Crime in London and Category:Disasters in London (I hadn't heard of the London Beer Flood before <g>). A lot of them are probably unillustratable, but if anyone fancies having a dig around for out-of-copyright images, you could probably do quite a bit of good in that area. Photo request

Who wants to take another photo at Heathrow Airport?

This time the photo request is about The Compass Centre, which is the BAA Limited head office. According to the BAA contact page, the Compass Centre is on Nelson Road, on the northern side of the airport.

While we already have photos of it, they all have British Airways markings. I would like a shot of the building with BAA markings. As an aside, I'm working on taking photos of all the articles in Central London - I've taken most of the ones I need, it just takes a looong time to process them, not least because I usually end up doing some work on the text as well. Paddington Waterside

As an example of why it's taking me so long to upload my pics, I ended up expanding Paddington Waterside from a 1-para stub to a 23kb potential GA. Even then there's more to write, but I've just about had enough of it now. I'd appreciate a second set of eyeballs on it - and there's lots of associated articles that could do with expansion, not all of them appreciate that Waterside is the overall regeneration plan, whilst Paddington Basin is just one project within that masterplan. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

I have created together with Smallman12q a toolserver tool that shows a weekly-updated list of cleanup categories for WikiProjects, that can be used as a replacement for WolterBot and this WikiProject is among those that are already included (because it is a member of Category:WolterBot cleanup listing subscriptions). Museum of London paid internships

This might be of interest to some here who are a) between 18-24, live in London, interested in GLAMs and are on school/university break in the new year. It's not specifically a Wikipedia thing, but potentially could have a Wikipedia angle to it if a Wikipedian was awarded the gig....
The Museum of London is offering two paid internships for their "stories of the world" project:

"The Museum is looking to take on two interns to be part of the Stories of the World: London project, part of the MLA’s national Stories of the World programme, one of the major projects of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. In this project the Museum is working with young people aged between 14-24 to explore the theme of place through Roman history and its legacy today. It will involve working as part of a team and representing the voice, views and aspirations of young people in 2010.

The role will involve exhibition planning, events management and youth engagement work. You will take part in a wide range of duties including helping deliver creative workshops, planning a festival of events and exhibition research and development. An interest in working in the museum/arts/heritage sector is necessary. Strong creative, organisation and communication skills are vital to this role. An interest in London and its history and its ability to engage young people is important."
For young people aged 18 – 24
£7.85 per hour /35 hours per week

8 week placement starting Monday 31st January 2011.

London photo requests

It would help your requestees considerably if you ordered things geographically and found postcodes for everything - you're talking about a heck of an area, Heathrow is 20 miles or so from central London with some of the worst traffic on the planet in between, so it's unlikely the same person would be doing both groups, let alone throwing in Wimbledon etc. I can do the Picadilly ones at some point - it's harder at this time of year since you lose the good light for photography by 3-3.30pm and I tend to be doing this after other things IRL, but I should be able to do them at some point in the next few months. You might want to look at Paddington Waterside for Kingfisher, I did photo Sheldon Square but I don't know which one 3 is, there's no obvious signage. I've a couple of other pics that I've not uploaded. I might get round to Wimbledon some time in 2013 at current rates, no chance of me getting out to Heathrow even if you paid me <g>... To be honest, WP:BERKSHIRE might be a better bet for the Heathrow stuff, although that project doesn't look terribly active, I guess you might get lucky with WP:UKGEO. Thank you for your suggestions! How about this? I reordered things by their London boroughs, and I'll entered addresses to find more postcodes
The idea I had in mind with these requests is maybe different people within London do different requests according what is convenient to them, like one guy in the center does the stuff on Piccadilly, while another guy closer to Uxbridge does the stuff in Hatton, Heathrow, and Uxbridge.
I'll also post the Hillingdon requests to Berkshire just in case, and I'll see if UKGeo is willing to take some of these requests.
If it's convenient, if you want you can wait until there is more sunshine.

Urgent photo need of Gaddhafi house in Hampstead Garden Suburb

The chain Itsu has its registered office in Chorley, North West England.

But this...

implies that Itsu's head office is in London

That's interesting, since the company website says that Chorley is where the reg. office is http://www.itsu.com/ - It seems like Dorland House is where the head office is

Photo request

Anyone here with a camera who can get to the British Museum? More than a year ago, someone was trying to find an image for the Little Thetford flesh-hook; their comments are in the final section of Wikipedia:Media copyright questions/Archive/2010/June. To quote the original author, the hook "is currently at the British Museum, East London warehouse. Arrangements can be made to see (and therefore photograph) the item by emailing the collections enquiries (see BM website) and marking it for the attention of the curator Bronze age collections. Quote object reference: 1929,0415.1; id: 814326." I'm sure that the original author will long have forgotten this question, but I'll appreciate it if someone can photograph it and then tell me when you've uploaded the photo. Thanks! Greater London

Letting you know that I have made some changes to the lead that shouldn't be contraversial but I might have left the section a bit long because of not wanting to remove any of the original information from that section.

Ceremonial Counties

I also removed the description of the Greater London Lieutenancy as a ceremonial county. I am not wanting to stop WP calling the region this as it is useful for the sidebars but GL is still not technically a county. There is not common usage of this term for GLL and the only sources I could find to support the claim at all used the term because of WP. An overhead view of Trafalgar Square?

I think an overhead view could add to Trafalgar Square. I halfheartedly added a photo of the square's model from Legoland Windsor in lieu of the real thing. London borough council stubs

Hallo, while stub-sorting I came across an early stub for Bexley London Borough Council, upgraded it a bit, realised it was missing from {{Local authorities in London}} and added it, realised several other boroughs were also missing and added them, and then realised that creating near-identical stubs by copying and adapting Bexley was going to be a labour-saving way of getting those redlinks turned blue, and went on to create stubs for Brent, Bromley, Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kingston (that one might need to be renamed?), Richmond upon Thames and Southwark (treated Bexley as a template, changed the various occurrences of borough name, located website and got the URL right, checked that links worked). They each have a link to the appropriate council/borough website, and a "See also" to the local elections page. Local experts will want to enhance and expand them, but I hope the bulk creation of this batch of stubs to fill in the redlinks in a hierarchy will be acceptable to you London experts! Agree with SecretLondon - there are well established articles staring "London Borough of ..." and a related template {{tl:Governance of Greater London}}. IMHO, the Bexley London Borough Council article and others like it should redirect to the relevant "London Borough of..." article. Paul W (talk) 20:30, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Not so much the "creation" as the "completion" of a set. I just found the Bexley stub, found the template listing similar articles for most but not all of the London borough councils, and created stubs for the missing items in the set - most of which, like the Camden article, seem substantial long-existing articles. Two events next week (10/9 and 13/9)

Since the watchlist notice went up later than I'd hoped, a quick note to let you know about two events organised for next week - a workshop and tour of the Writing Britain exhibition at the British Library on Monday 10th, and a tour of the Shakespeare: staging the world exhibition at the British Museum on Thursday 13th.

The BL tour is at 6.30 pm, so it should hopefully be possible to make it after work; the BM tour is at the unorthodox hour of 9 am (!) so it may also be accessible to people with slightly flexible working hours. Parts of London relocated

All my personal opinion only, of course. I'm a little concerned that Justgravy is it seems to me on a quite large-scale campaign to change the description of where parts of London are; often, but not always, moving things into Central London that were previously (in some cases stably and for many years) described as West London, East London or elsewhere. I feel that they seem to be applying some novel personal beliefs to this, using Tube zones amongst others to try to codify and enforce their own view. If you look at their edit history you should be able to see what I mean. Some of their work is undoubtedly good but I don't see them working assiduously to achieve consensus and to co-operate with other editors, and to be honest I would have thought that in the case of a big campaign to "correct" the encyclopaedia it might have been worth bringing it here, or somewhere, first to try to reach consensus and agree some definitions, rather than doing it piecemeal and then having to fight off individual editors when it is queried. They don't use edit summaries all that much so it slightly has the look of a stealth campaign, though I am sure this is not deliberate. I would be very grateful if experienced London editors and/or admins could take a look at this and perhaps reassure me that there is no problem, or whatever. I seriously hope that the editor does not personally feel attacked over this, and if they do then I apologize - that is not my intent. I am concerned not to offend, but I am am also concerned over what to do where I feel that the encyclopaedia may be being - albeit in a rather limited and local way - adversely affected.

Caveats:

  • I might just be completely wrong and their edits perfect, and I just need to move with the times and update my own definitions and perspectives. Fine! If you have no anxiety about this and you are happy with the the changes, then that's great, I will be happy. I just need to hear it from some other editors. I don't want someone turning round next year, deciding they don't like these changes, and saying "blimey, when did this all happen?"
  • I don't have the time or energy to pursue this much myself so, I am very sorry, but I am doing the Very Bad Thing of saying "There's a problem" then hoping that someone else will fix it. Sorry, but I think/hope that this approach is marginally better than thinking there is a problem and doing nothing at all about it.
  • For personal reasons I have no wish to interact further with this user, which would anyway make me a bit hopeless for helping sort out the situation (if - see above - there is indeed anything to sort). Sorry.

I've had a look into Justgravy's edits, and while I actually agree with a couple of the changes - e.g. to Kensington* and Southwark-related areas - that doesn't excuse him from having to find citations. I am also concerned at his aggressive edit summaries and talk page comments. Look DBaK and H truce, I never meant to offend you or anyone else, I have been told my opinions are very strong and can cause offence, but I do not mean it! Maybe Travelcard Zone 1 is a bit vague a definition but what about The Mayor's CAZ? or The London Congestion Charging Zone (i.e. inside the inner ring road) including the old zone that got removed? These are probably the best boundaries that we have for Central London! And wow H you grew up in Kensington... your family must be minted! But that's beside the point, I got it even worse, growing up in Bromley I was always told that it was Kent but now I accept that it is very much a part of Southeast London (if you take out Croydon it is the biggest town in Southeast London)! At least with west, central etc. it is still London, London and Kent are chalk and cheese! Justgravy (talk) 13:23, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
The issue here is this: you can't just go around changing things because you think or know something is so; you need to cite sources for the statements you make in an article. If you change a fact ("X is in Y"), you need to specify exactly where you got that information from, in the form of a citation - just mentioning it in the edit summary isn't enough. Our guide to types of sources is important here. If it's from the London Plan, for example, you need to find where it says so, and cite that page in the article, next to the statement that you are making. This is called verifiability, and it's one of our three core content policies.
If you see something in an article that's wrong (and uncited), but you can't find a citable source to contradict it, bring up the issue on the article talk page; don't just replace the offending material with what you think is right. Hex (❝?!❞) 15:22, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedian in Residence: Natural History Museum

Cockney

I think that the Cockney article is due a re-evaluation. I think that the C rating seems harsh given the precise description of Cockney speech. In my opinion, the phonetics used there are no worse than those on the article for Received Pronunciation.

The article is rated as "mid-importance", but it has not been reviewed since 2010. Would anyone care to review the C rating? Epa101 (talk) 21:18, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

I know that this is a little bit late but I have had a quick look and I think that C is quite fair. The rating is not always just about content but also the style and a lot of other things. There are plenty of references missing including whole sections (e.g. Famous Cockneys, typical features), is the spread of Cockney limited to the UK, there is OR, is there any modern revival etc. Please also see WP:MOS. Snow Hill

I can find quite a few things named Snow Hill in London which centre on a small area between Farringdon and Blackfriars, such as Snow Hill police station, the various historical Snow Hill railway stations and Snow Hill Tunnel. What I was wondering was, what is Snow Hill? Is it an area or a hill? Is it something of historical importance? Simply south...... catching SNOWballs for just 6 years 16:08, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

This isn't really the place for this kind of thing, but - Snow Hill is a small street, which probably has fame beyond its merit because it's a pretty name and one of the three City police stations is on it. The tunnel runs under it, the station was on it. It is a bit of a slope but I guess it was originally a knoll on the side of Ludgate Hill, on the side of the valley of the River Fleet. The topography round there has been manipulated by man since the Romans built their city walls along the Fleet, and it's further complicated by the building of Holborn Viaduct. I suspect it was originally notable as being big enough to build some kind of defensive tower that was distinct from the main fortifications on Ludgate Hill like Montfichet's Tower, but these days it really is blink-and-you-miss-it.Le Deluge (talk) 18:13, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

User:WhisperToMe periodically comes on here with requests to illustrate mostly company articles with their offices, most recently here - there's two on the Hammersmith Road and he often has requests for airlines out towards Heathrow. I've got photos of pretty much every article inside the Circle Line on my hard disk waiting to be uploaded (it's a lot more fun taking the photos than processing them!), but I don't often get west of ~High St Kensington. If I were you I'd concentrate on the western suburbs which get less attention than the centre - one good way to look for inspiration is to use Google Maps with the Wikipedia overlay, and/or this tool (unfortunately its database of missing pictures can be over a year out of date, and it counts photos in templates as meaning an article is illustrated). Neither are comprehensive, but if you take a list of 100 or so from Z-man's tool and plot it on Google maps, then switch on the layer of all Wiki articles, you can get a good idea of what's needed. Even the articles that do have photos are usually worth going to, I don't count low-resolution Geograph images, nor photos taken under grey skies - places just look much better if the sun is shining. April is the absolute best time of year for urban Wiki photography in the UK - the trees still have no leaves so you can see bits of buildings that are otherwise obscured, but photos are nicer when there's flowers out and a better chance of blue skies. Another thing I do as and when I see them, is to take photos of any buildings with blue plaques I see when I'm out with my camera, to end up on the articles of the relevant person - there's a map here and various lists available online - there's 21 in H&F for you to start with! I visited Hammersmith Road just last day and at least I photographed "by coincidence" one of office requested by WhisperToMe (see image during my way from Brook Green area (St Paul's Girls' School - unfortunately it was against the sun) to Margravine Cemetery. There is about 500 photos yet in the category from my several trips and I slowly add them to local articles.

London Stone

The London Stone article is currently labelled "rated as Start-Class on the project's quality scale". That was certainly true if you look at the version of a couple of years ago, but a number of people have put a lot of work into it since, and the current version is detailed and fully referenced - it's even got some new pictures. I'm new to Wikipedia - still struggling with markup and templates, let alone the etiquette and hierarchy - and I've no idea what the appropriate method is for asking for a review to get it moved up the scale. Hi John - in my experience, it usually happens whenever somebody just gets around to doing it, which may not be often in a quiet project. I've just upgraded it to a B; it's looking good. Yep, although the theory of ratings emphasises someone else doing it, in reality it doesn't really happen and for sub-GA ratings it's fine to do it yourself, but there are grey areas where experience helps. GA and FA are quite a big deal, personally I take GA more seriously as that's the one that says to our readers "this is roughly equivalent to a Britannica article", and it can be as much work to do (say) 4 GA's as a single FA, but a)once you're in the groove and have all the sources to hand, it can be relatively easy to push on to FA and b)some people like the kudos of it. Certainly the WP:Good article criteria and WP:Featured article criteria and the links therein are well worth a read. One obvious failing of the current LS article is the intro - it needs expansion and eg we don't need to know the material of the surround, but the material of the stone should be in the intro! See WP:Manual of Style/Lead section. More generally, the article has a common failing of something that has been written by different people and is trying to stick to what the references say - it ends up a staccato list of facts rather than a coherent encyclopedia article. It's not easy to get the balance right between readability and respecting the references, but it could do with a bit of a copyedit. Like most things inside the Circle Line I've got some better photos somewhere, I'll have a look through my hard disk when I've a moment - but today is too good an opportunity to waste, it'll probably be the last of the sunny weekends with no leaves on the trees, so I'm off out taking photos! Thanks for the comments on the intro, Le Deluge - I'll see what I can do. Copyediting is beyond me - I have problems with the markup. 'Respecting the references' - I'm still a bit worried by the 'no original research' rule and, quote: 'Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources. If one reliable source says A, and another reliable source says B, do not join A and B together to imply a conclusion C that is not mentioned by either of the sources.' Since most of the sources themselves come to different and wildly improbable conclusions, one needs a polite way of saying 'they're all wrong; we don't know what it is, or why it's so important!'.
GA 'roughly equivalent to a Britannica article' - not sure that's always a recommendation given that Britannica gave us Margaret Murray's deeply-flawed article on witchcraft and kept it in print from 1929 till 1969!!!
Photos - I've got quite a few recent photos myself, tho' I can't guarantee their quality! (eg teh modern building in all its various recent guises, close-ups of the surround and grille and the inscribed plaque on top etc), what is really needed is a copyright-free photo of it in situ before the War or a good 19th-century illustration, close-up of the stone rather than the usual view of the whole church; and a copyright-free detail from either the Museum of London's copperplate map or the 'Agas' map showing it in the 16th-century.

London Borough infoboxes and the 2011 census

The infoboxes on the articles for London Boroughs need updating with data from the 2011 census. The ethnicity sections especially they currently use 6 year old data. The way to change it involves changing the template for all the infoboxes I think it reads the data off a file, I would make the changes myself but I don't know how . "London buns"

I've never heard of London buns, never seen London buns, find the claim that they were the buns served at the Chelsea Bun House preposterous (since aside from Hot Cross, the Chelsea bun is probably the best documented sweet-bread in history thanks to the Royal Family's scoffing of the things), and find the idea that anyone in Chelsea would choose to give one of their products a name associating it with the oiks downriver even more preposterous. Please help get London ready for the start of the Wiki Loves Monuments competition on 1st September

In September the UK is taking part for the first time in the international photography competition Wiki Loves Monuments. Participants will be invited to submit pictures of listed buildings of significant importance (grades I or grade II*), as recorded by English Heritage. The main external website for competitors can be found here, and you can leave a message there if you have queries about competing. Do please join in, and let people in your local area know of this excellent way in which both existing and new Wiki users can help improve the encyclopaedia by contributing photographs of local listed structures. What about organizing a local Wikimeet to attract new people?

In preparation for the start of the competition on 1st September there is still work to do, and we would like to ask for the help of members of this wikiproject. Your local and expert knowledge will be invaluable in ensuring that the lists of eligible buildings are up to date and correctly formatted. If you look at Listed buildings in the United Kingdom you will see how many structures are included. If you then follow the link to Listed buildings in England, you can get to the detailed lists for your area. Alternatively have a look at the WLM planning table. Can you help to ensure that the lists for your area are up to date and well presented?

Some of the lists have been semi-automatically generated from data provided by English Heritage. These use pre formatted templates (eg EH header) which will make it much easier for competition participants to upload their photographs to Commons as an automated process. Please don't change the template structure, as we need to ensure that the templates are properly compatible with the WLM standards that are in use worldwide. The format will allow a bot automatically to collect the information and to put it into the international Monuments Database.

The data still needs the attention of local editors:

  • The "title" may need wikilinking to a suitable article name (whether we currently have that article or not). If there are several buildings in one street all of the wikilinks point at an article about the street; however each entry has a separate line in the list.
  • The "location" column looks and sorts better if just the parish or town is included (& wikilinked).
  • The "date completed" column sometimes has eg "C19" for 19th century, and "C1850" for c. 1850 when the date is uncertain - these need to be corrected manually.
  • The "grid ref & lat & long" (which is occasionally missing) may be given to 8 characters — only 6 (grid ref) or 5 (lat & long) are really needed.
  • Clicking on the "list entry number" should take you to the data sheet for that entry on the English Heritage database which can be checked if needed for details.
  • The image column should have a picture added if we already have a suitable image on Commons. (N.B. if you are going to be taking photos yourself for inclusion in the competition don't upload them until September)
  • References may be added according to normal WP practice.

British Library "Mechanical Curator" image collection

A week ago, the British Library posted a million free images online, scanned from over 50,000 mostly nineteenth-century books. There are some real gems there for anybody interested in London, including the complete set of images from Thomas Hosmer Shepherd's Metropolitan Improvements (1830) or Augustus Pugin's Views of Islington and Pentonville (1819), as well as, for example, all the original Sherlock Holmes illustrations.

One initial issue with the collection is that it has been very hard to search, as the BL has been hoping people will crowd-tag it. But Commons now has a full list up of all the titles that were scanned, and is starting to work up a synoptic topic and subject index to them (though it's still at a very very early stage).

The section for London is one of the more complete of them (or perhaps that should be: less wildly incomplete). I've added books I could find with "London", "history" or "Thames" in their titles, which gets the ball rolling, searching down to books with about 15 to 20 images in them. But there may be much much more still to find -- for example, books on particular places, or perhaps a book presenting half a dozen high-quality plates of just the thing you're interested in. So the full collection is well worth an explore.

There's a project page on Commons with more details about the collection, and important information about how Commons would like them tagged if you do bring over images to put into articles. There are still quite a few issues with the collection -- for example, images don't currently come up in page number order (losing any natural groupings), and many are still sideways up; but these will surely start to get resolved as people put their minds to it. The full texts of all the books are also available for download as in pdf from (click the 'more' link in the description on the right hand side of each image for a link); and are also supposedly available to read on-line on the BL website (though I've never yet got that work). So it really is quite an amazing release of content.

The real key to making the content accessible is going to be building up the subject index. So if anybody's finished all the mince pies on Boxing Day and is looking for something to do, can I cheekily suggest this for consideration. The synoptic index really is still very vestigial for most of the world so far, so all the content that can be added to it would be really really useful. Jheald (talk) 16:55, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

Hackney Wick

Just been browsing the Hackney Wick and it's horribly out of date. The Present Day and Future sections both describe the Olympic 2012 development (never mind the games themselves!) as a future event. Popular pages tool update

As of January, the popular pages tool has moved from the Toolserver to Wikimedia Tool Labs. The code has changed significantly from the Toolserver version, but users should notice few differences. Please take a moment to look over your project's list for any anomalies, such as pages that you expect to see that are missing or pages that seem to have more views than expected. Note that unlike other tools, this tool aggregates all views from redirects, which means it will typically have higher numbers. (For January 2014 specifically, 35 hours of data is missing from the WMF data, which was approximated from other dates. For most articles, this should yield a more accurate number. However, a few articles, like ones featured on the Main Page, may be off).

Web tools, to replace the ones at tools:~alexz/pop, will become available over the next few weeks at toollabs:popularpages. All of the historical data (back to July 2009 for some projects) has been copied over. The tool to view historical data is currently partially available (assessment data and a few projects may not be available at the moment). The tool to add new projects to the bot's list is also available now (editing the configuration of current projects coming soon). Unlike the previous tool, all changes will be effective immediately. OAuth is used to authenticate users, allowing only regular users to make changes to prevent abuse. A visible history of configuration additions and changes is coming soon. Once tools become fully available, their toolserver versions will redirect to Labs.

Help identifying a London street, 1902

Can anybody help me to identify this London street please? I'm working on an article for the Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. Part of the coronation procession through the City and Southwark was delayed until October, so if this street is in either of those areas, it was taken in October. If it's in the West End, it was in August. It has the look of Eastcheap or Cannon Street about it to me, but I can't be certain. Thanks, Alansplodge (talk) 01:50, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

@Alansplodge: Eastcheap and Cannon Street are far too narrow.... That said, given that the procession was from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, and the width of the street, I suspect that it may be Victoria Street. Unfortunately Victoria Street is unrecognizable due to post-war rebuilding.
Cecil Hepworth made a series of short films of the procession, which, unfortunately, are now lost. However, their titles offer a clue to the route. Whitehall is on it, which is certainly wide enough, but largely not built up as much as in this image, which has more of a West End level of density. — Scott • talk 13:21, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

Bridge in/near Perivale needs identifying

This bridge is described only as "Perivale"

This bridge is identified as a listed building in London. I'm cleaning out that category on Commons moving everything into subcategories based on borough and grade of listing, however this bridge - identified only as "Perivale" - has me stumped. It looks like it's over a canal (Grand Union?) but I can't find that there are any listed bridges of this scale near Perivale. Thryduulf (talk) 11:52, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
