Dmenditto 07:20, 14 June 2007 (UTC)dmenditto: I want to preface my comments by acknowledging that I don't have any specific corrections to offer for the "Latin Kings" entry at this time. I simply want to offer that the article is wholly deficient by what I have come to view as Wikipedia.org standards. I am not a present or former member of the Latin Kings. However, I have become friends with a former Advisor in that gang through my efforts to help him assimilate into "normal" society after incarceration. As part of my research to understand the organization to which he belonged, I turned to Wikipedia.org, among other resources. The article that Wikipedia.org has is almost a verbatim cut and paste from the URL: http://www.gripe4rkids.org/LKhis.html, which is obviously a limited perspective from someone on the east coast. A simple Google search will provide a more thorough and accurate summary of the Latin Kings' origin, growth, activities, and current status. As an example, I offer the following URL: http://www.ngcrc.com/ngcrc/page15.htm.[reply]

Again, I have no connections to the Latin Kings. I simply offer these thoughts as someone who has found Wikipedia's articles to be thorough and informative and who has donated to your organization. This one seemed more than below the standards I have come to expect.

Thank you for entertaining my comments.

Sex workers' rights page expansion[edit]

Hi all! I am a student at Rice University and I am currently working on revising the Sex workers' rights page some more to include more information about the history of the movement and mobilization of the people involved in the movement since that is one of the areas that the current page is lacking in. I have found some information about some of the celebratory days that advocates of the movement have set aside worldwide but I am looking for some more scholarly information about some major sex workers' rights organizations that operate internationally. So far I have information from a website about the international celebratory days such as www.december17.org and http://thesocietypages.org/sexuality/2010/03/03/international-sex-workers-rights-day/ but these sources are not very scholarly and do not address the mobilization efforts that I was looking to include on the page. I'd be ever so grateful if you guys were able to direct me to some sources and give me feedback in general about different organizations to look into. Thanks!
